ReplyCopy URLMay 29, 2021 at 4:47 pm #1204278422General Hospital has won 82 major Emmys (Series, Directing, Writing and acting categories), 34 performers have won – it has won Drama Series 13 times, Directing 11 times and Writing 4 times.
The Young and the Restless has won 73 major Emmys, 27 performers have won. It has won Drama Series 11 times, Directing 14 times and Writing 8 times.

Y&R has had 6 actors who won Best Lead Actor (10 statuettes), GH has had 3 but has won 11 statuettes, Days has had 2 (with 3 statuettes) and B&B had only had 1 winner in the category.
GH has 10 different actresses who have won Supporting Actress, with Y&R having 5, Days with 4, and B&B has had only 1 actress who has won.

ReplyCopy URLMay 29, 2021 at 5:16 pm #1204278433GH’s 90s Drama Series wins should be attributed to Wendy Riche not Richie.
ReplyCopy URLMay 29, 2021 at 6:02 pm #1204278463GH has two guest wins also.
Actually it’s 3 for GH: Donna Mills, Patricia Bethune and Vernee Watson. I corrected it in my post!
ReplyCopy URLMay 29, 2021 at 6:38 pm #1204278478That’s right! I was remembering Watson’s supporting not guest.

1: LovingMay 31, 2021 at 4:18 am #1204280067The oddest strangest win ever was Guiding Light winning for Drama Series in 1980 without a single other nomination in any category! I am pretty sure the show submitted Roger’s death, which had well-produced outdoor scenes, in that category. But why did the show receive no other nominations? Michael Zaslow and Maureen Garrett both gave superb performances in the marital rape storyline. The other nominees were All My Children and Another World – a rare year in which all the nominees in the category were New York based soaps.
ReplyCopy URLMay 31, 2021 at 4:50 am #1204280083The same happened to Y&R in 1983. They won Drama and didn’t get nominated anywhere else.
