    General
    Hospital

    Outstanding Supporting Actress:  Lisa LoCicero

    Ned
    breaks things off with Olivia.

GH has been a real struggle to get through for me lately,
but the actors are what keep me coming back.
I think this is the best performance Lisa has had since she got back
from maternity leave.  She is one of
those actresses where I cry every time she cries.  She really does give it her all in every
scene and I really felt her tears and her hurt here about losing Ned.

    General
    Hospital

    Outstanding Lead Actress:
    Laura Wright

    Sonny
falls out of his wheelchair and Carly later pleads with him to be strong and
    get the help he needs.

I really hate the “Sonny Show” we have been seeing as of
late, but I can’t deny that Laura gave a really great performance.  It was a really subtle performance, but I
feel like there were a lot of layers too it.
She is one those actresses that can do so much with just their eyes,
    which she perfectly illustrated today.

I definitely agree EmmyLoser.  I don’t think that Kate will get a nomination
this year, or even if she deserves one, as there have been SO many strong
actress performances this year.  I just
think she has been really consistently strong these last few months.

Sorry for so many citations from me in such a short
time.  I had yesterday and today off, so
I’ve been catching up on all the shows!

    Young
    and the Restless

Outstanding Supporting Actors:  Greg Rikkart and Burgess Jenkins

    Kevin
takes the stand in Adam’s sentencing hearing and blasts Michael for
    representing Adam.  Billy breaks down
with Victoria about everything and she tells him that he has to forgive
    himself.

Really good stuff from both gentlemen today!  Greg didn’t have too much screen time, but he
really got to me when he was on the stand, and this is definitely the strongest
stuff that he’s had all year.  He’s one
of those actors that always delivers when he is given material, he just hasn’t been
given meaty material in a while.  Burgess
was also good again in his scenes with Amelia.
He has really stepped his game up these last few weeks IMO and given
    some really solid performances.

Agreed on all counts.  And I’ll add:

    Oct 23, 2015
Outstanding Supporting Actress (or Lead, but more on that later)
Amelia Heinle as Victoria Newman, Y&R

Victoria pushes Billy to forgive himself about Delia’s death.

Amelia is really becoming a superstar.  She emoted beautifully, conveying Victoria’s concurrent heartbreak and strength, and that’s all in addition to her work in Victoria’s coporate battles with Victor or Abby.  I would love to see her go (and be recognized in) Lead based on her airtime, but I could justify her staying in Supporting because she is not the primary player in either the Delia or corporate story lines.

    General
    Hospital

    Outstanding Supporting Actor:  Dominic Zamprogna

    Outstanding Supporting Actress:  Emme Rylan

    Lulu
and Dante have it out after the truth about him and Valerie is revealed.

I thought both actors did some incredible work in these
scenes.  I think Emme definitely had the
showier material, since it was Lulu doing the confronting, but Dominic was
great too at showing his regret.  I was
really impressed with Emme.  I think she
showed a great range and perfectly portrayed the rage and hurt that someone in
this situation would have.  This would
make the perfect Emmy reel for both, as it is standalone, one on one scenes
between the two and is easy to follow.

    Young
    and the Restless

Outstanding Direction in a Drama Series

    Everyone
fights to get out of a burning Newman Tower. Ashley and Stitch are trapped in
an explosion.  Jack and Phyllis get
trapped in a room.  Adam is attacked in
    the stairwell.

While I am not always a fan of these disaster stories, I
did want to cite the direction for this episode because I thought that they
pulled off this disaster quite nicely and everything looked pretty good
visually.  I also really liked the ending
montage going back and forth between people being reunited with their loved
ones at the hospital and interspersing that with the destruction at the
    tower.

^^  Agreed, GHFan.  Emme was great and and Brytni Sarpi as Valerie stepped up her game too.  I don’t like DZ’s work very much generally and thought this was a missed opportunity for him to be more histrionic, but he might get some recognition for this reel anyway if his category remains generally weak.  As for Y&R, again I agree that it was great.  My only exception there was Gina Tognoni.  I hate that she lets Phyllis fade into the background, which is so completely out of character for Phyllis, and a lot of what should have been cute between her and Jack came off as just plain awkward.

I don’t see Kate Mansi getting a nomination, she’s been overlooked every year that she’s been on the show, while camila banus ( who i do like, but find kate the better actress of the two ) has even been nominated, not sure what Kate has to do to get a nomination, that she hasn’t already done.

    Bold
    and the Beautiful

    Outstanding younger Actress:  Reign Edwards

    Nicole
pleads with her parents to respect her decision, and later has a heart to heart
with Rick.  The episode ends with her
    getting implanted with Rick’s sperm.

A really great, subtle performance from Reign.  She definitely has showier performances in
the past, but she did a really great job pulling out the raw emotion of the
situation.  It had a good build to it from
the monologue at the beginning to her parents, to the scene with Rick, and then
she sold everything for me at the end just with her facial expressions.  You could tell that Nicole was still slightly
conflicted just by the look on her face.

    Days
    of our Lives

    Outstanding Directing

    Bo
arrives home, just as Hope is attacked by Aidan.  Brady and Theresa reconnect.  Sami returns home.  Patch and Kayla try to figure out what landed
    Joey in the hospital.

I had to cite this episode for directing for the fight scene
alone.  Everything from the dark lighting,
to the choreography, to the music was perfectly directed and executed.   It was
a really well done episode as a whole.

    General Hospital
Best Actress: Maura West as Ava Jerome

Ava manipulates Sonny into making threats against her that she can use in the custody case. I LOVE when MW plays scenes where she is using her brains to manipulate other characters! Superlative acting. She may have better reels from the beginning of the year, and longer ones, but I wished to cite her for this work anyway….

    The Young and the Restless
Best Supporting Actress: Kelly SUllivan as Sage Newman

Although I don’t want KS to get a nomination I do think this is a strong submission for her – grieving over the “death” of her baby she lets out her fury on Nick; I esp. liked the way she called out for him having changed her mind about it. Very nice.

    Dyas Of our Lives
Best Actress: Kristian Alfonso as Hope Jennings

Not sure this is her “best” possible reel, but I wanted to recognize a strong performance as Hope reacts to Aiden’s trying to murder her and the return of Bo.

    General
    Hospital

    Outstanding Lead Actress:
    Kelly Monaco

    Outstanding Lead Actress:
    Finola Hughes

    Sam
learns that Jake is really Jason.  Anna
breaks down to Paul about her struggle of murdering Carlos and how she wants to
    turn herself in.

Great performances from both ladies today.  I thought Kelly really stepped it up
    today.  I know she’s not everyone’s cup
of tea, but I feel like she really brought it today.  She perfectly portrayed all of the emotions
that someone in this situation would be going through.

FInola has no shortage of episodes to choose from this
year.  She’s been really great while
struggling with what she did to Carlos and today was another great performance from
her.  Her breaking down to Paul and
wanting to turn herself in was really well done and such a layered
    performance.  Frank Valentini tweeted
today that he thinks this is her Emmy episode.
While I agree that it was a great performance, I think she probably has
some better stuff to choose from during Duke’s death.

    Days Of Our Lives
    Outstanding Direction
Outstanding Actress: Kristian Alfonso as Hope Brady (Jennings)

This was a really well direced episode; each scene seamlessly moved into the next one. I feel bad for the Days directors: it’s the only show that has never won the Emmy for Direction!

KA was terrific again today; emotions, subtlety, beautiful performance. Great scenes with Bo, Julie, Chase, Marlena, Doug and Ciara today. She has been so steady all year long – she doesn’t have the flashy “chewing the scenery” episodes that the usual suspects have – but she is wonderfully consistent and interesting to watch!

    Young
    and the Restless

    Outstanding Supporting Actor:  Kelly Sullivan

    Sage
lashes out at Victoria for trying to plan the memorial service too
quickly.  Her and nick later discuss
    their loss further.

    Young
    and the Restless

    Outstanding Supporting Actress:  Kelly Sullivan

    Outstanding Supporting Actor:  Joshua Morrow

    Sage
has a heart to heart with Adam discussing her possibly losing Nick, and he
shares his miscarriage history with her.
At Christian’s memorial service, Nick gives a touching eulogy, and Sage
ends up showing up and saying a few words.
Nick breaks down after seeing the death certificate.

I thought these performances surrounding Christian’s death
were really well done.  Last week, when
they first found out, I wasn’t really feeling either one of their performances.  Kelly was a little too over the top for me,
and Josh wasn’t emotional enough.  These
two days however, they both hit just the right notes.  They were emotionally raw, but yet perfectly
subtle and hit all of the right beats.
IT makes sense now why they were underplaying Nick earlier, as they
wanted him to have this big breakdown of emotion, which Josh played really
    nicely.

    General
    Hospital

    Outstanding Lead Actress:
    Kelly Monaco

    Sam
pleads with Jason and tries to get him to remember their life together and ends
    up kissing him.

I guess this is just the week where I cite people I’m not
all that fond of LOL.  I am not always
crazy about Monaco or Sullivan, but I have been impressed with both this week
enough to cite them.  I know GDFL
mentioned in the GH thread not being impressed with these scenes, and while I was
not all that impressed with Miller, I do think that Monaco did a really good
job, and gave really genuine emotion.  I
was never a JaSam fan, but she made me buy it in these scenes.

^^  Cosign about Kelly Sullivan and Josh Morrow, and I agree 100% with your reasoning.  As for KMo, yes, I did say that I was unimpressed, but if she is going to submit next year as she usually does, these scenes would make sense to use.  I just don’t’ think she’ll get very far.

    General Hospital
Outstanding Younger Actress: Brooklyn Rae Sigler as Emma Drake

BRS was great today; earned tears are the best. She completely had me drawn in to her dilemma, to her feelings, and she was so ably assisted by JT as well. Bravo! (:

Wasn’t sure where to post this, but Kassie DePaiva revealed in an interview from Day of Days that she has submitted herself for LEAD! For the prenom round, she submitted two scenes surrounding Paige’s death. The first is from the 9/21 episode where Eduardo first comes to the apartment after Paige’s death. The second is from the 10/2 episode, where she breaks down at the funeral reception at the club. Really great submission choices, so I hope she can pull out a nom.

^^ Great news! On a related note, Cady McClain tweeted that Y&R wants to submit her work too. Presumably that would be jn Supporting.
