It is my understanding that the awards will still be given but that there will be no awards ceremony.

The awards were not televised in 1983 and 1984 but there were un-televised ceremonies.

I think the way they have handled this year’s Emmys has been abysmal. It is inexcusable for it to take so long to know the nominees and the winners. In this technological age they could have been done months ago.

I mean, with the COVID-19 scare, it would make sense to cancel this show. Not to mention, no one watches it anymore for it to spark anything. If the NBA was shut down because of COVID-19, then the Daytime Emmys didn’t stand a chance.

My point is more that they ought to have already done the Emmys months ago. It simply does not take this long to do it!
