Did you see McCoy’s reel?  Did you see the others’?  Here is McCoy’s.  It’s the only one I was able to find in its entirety online.  How can you say this is just “ok”?  https://vimeo.com/384670574

Agree. It was lot better than okay. It’s a very good acting reel for McCoy in the best emotional story in the category.  The opening scene between Joss and Carly is especially strong. A great way to kickoff the reel in making a first impression. But there is one problem for me in the editing. All of the scenes are way too short. As soon as you get invested in the moment, and it starts to build in the drama, it cuts away to another scene. I think they might have submitted from like eight episodes. Too much. Hurts the flow. The twenty second scene between Joss and Jax (on Sonny’s patio) is an example of something that should’ve been left out. That is the only weak link here in the editing. McCoy gives a winning performance in the reel.

I saw McCoy’s reel. It was good but I looked up Keegan’s episodes and she was on fire in them as a girl slipping to the dark side. I was wowed by each scene. Calle has a good reel as well. One thing you all have to remember is emotional reels don’t always win. In most cases they do but it all depends on the range. I’ve watched interviews with certain soap actors and they said when their voting on the blue ribbon panel they want to see not only emotional stuff but they like versatility, excitement, revelations, and omg moments as well. The voters like love when a actor can keep their attention. I know it’s hard for them to pick one winner when there’s so many great reels.

I wish Eden McCoy’s reel had ended at the Nurse’s Ball, when she was singing the song they wrote together and Oscar waves goodbye… but I still am predicting her. I will only be truly shocked if Thia Megia is the winner, any of the other 4 could win though.

I agree, with one bone or two thrown to ABC, NBC will likely be shutout. I feel like there’s a reason cbs agreed to air it on tv?

Y&R will likely repeat for Best Drama (after one of its worst seasons ever!). GH shot themselves in the foot with their submissions…though, the EMMYs have proven to be unpredictable…would be nice to see them take writing, the episodes were so nicely crafted.
