My request is that everybody limits themselves to no more than 3 FYC’s – thank you! (:

Votes have started to come in! Last year two performers had come from behind victories, so every vote counts! (:

    FYC:
LEAD ACTRESS/PERFORMER OF THE YEAR: Maura West (the latter because of great Nurse’s Ball and standalone episode performances!)
    SUPPORTING ACTOR: Christopher Sean

Great list of nominees, everyone! Some of these are going to be tough to narrow down.

Not a single nomination for any of the B&B actors? Come on… you guys are killing me here!

Question about the Performer of the Year category: shouldn’t the two Lifetime Achievement award nominees, Susan Seaforth Hayes and Suzanne Rogers, also be eligible here, since both are current cast members on DAYS?

I think 8 performers from B&B got votes, just not enough of them for nominations.

Days got 13 acting nominations, GH got 11, and Y&R got 4.

Days had a total of 29 performers in the 7 acting categories who got votes. GH had a total of 37. Y&R had 16.

Performers who almost made it in: Eileen Davidson, Eric Martsolf, Camryn Grimes, Max Gail and Nicolas Bechtel.

I would say that Susan Seaforth Hayes and Suzanne Rogers should not be eligible for the Performer of the Year award, as neither of them is nominated for work done specifically in the eligibility year. It feels hard to argue that someone was the performer of the year when they were not even among the top four vote-getters in their category.

Max Gail not getting a nomination did surprise me, especially with Chad Duell, who we really did not talk about very much last year, getting in instead. I personally was bummed Eric Martsolf didn’t make it. When I looked back over the year, he became my top choice for lead actor. Oh well.

Curious to see how our Goldies nominees fared with the Daytime Emmy pre-nominees – 11 out of 12 of our actresses got pre-nomiantions! (Marla Adams was the only exception). True, Kirsten Storms was in their supporting list and Michelle Stafford in their lead, but otherwise we had all but one! one of our Guest Performer nominees – Martha Madison – got a supporting actress pre-nom.

Actors we only had 6 of their 12, but a few of them I don’t think submitted? Howarth, Massey (? This one I really don’t get – I think he was snubbed), Morrow, Wilson, Duell, and we know Moss didn’t submit for certain.

Voting continues until next Thursday, Jan. 31st at 7 p.m. EST. I will announce the winners next Thursday night!
