ReplyFebruary 1, 2021 at 9:49 am #1204012592Congratulations to all the very deserving winners! Very well chosen. A repeat at the Emmys wouldn’t be entirely possible because of the combined younger performer category and the likelihood that one or two of these people will submit in a different category, but some overlap would be great.

ReplyCopy URLFebruary 2, 2021 at 9:19 am #1204014207GH won handily for Series, Directing and Writing with Days in 2nd place; GH won ensemble by only 3 votes with Days again in 2nd. Casting was the reverse with a 3 vote win by Days over GH.
The closest category was the Legacy Award – Douglass Watson won by 1 vote over Philip Carey and Alex Trebek in 2nd place with James Mitchell only 1 vote behind in 3rd.
Lifetime Achievement was a 2 vote victory for Don Hastings over Susan Flannery – they were the only nominees to get any votes.
Supporting Actor and Guest/Limited Performer were both won on the very last voter’s votes! Lucas Adams had 1 more vote than Wally Kurth. William deVry came in 3rd. DZ only got 1 vote. Guest/Limited Performer was a close contest with Alison Sweeney getting the last vote preventing a tie with Jane Elliot. They were the only nominees to get any votes in the category.
Best Actor was a fairly handy win for Chandler Massey, with Stephen Nichols and Paul Telfer in 2nd place.
Nancy Lee Grahn had a 3 vote victory over Maura West.
Genie Francis won handily with Lisa LoCicero in 2nd place.
Younger Actress was extremely close, a 3 way category: Victoria Konefal won by 1 vote over Eden McCoy, who had 1 more vote than Olivia Rose Keegan.
William Lipton’s win was the biggest landslide – Tajh Bellow got the only 2 votes that didn’t go to Lipton.
Almost every single category the performer who came in first in the nominating round won the category, with the Legacy Award being the only real exception to it this year.
CBS only got a few votes; we derbyites prefer Days and GH.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 2, 2021 at 1:36 pm #1204014846I forgot earlier to mention Performer of the Year: there were 4 performers who were on more than half of all the ballots. In 4th: Chandler Massey; in 3rd: Maura West; in a close 2nd: Nancy Lee Grahn – and while Nancy and Maura were on 1 more ballot than Genie she had by far the most first place votes!

Thanks for doing these Freeman.
ReplyCopy URLMay 26, 2021 at 4:19 pm #12042744023 of our 7 acting winners are nominated for a Daytime Emmy this year: Nancy Lee Grahn, Genie Francis, and Victoria Konefal. In addition, we nominated Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, Wally Kurth, Dominic Zamprogna (these last two and Genie Francis we had in supporting but they wound up in lead at the Emmys), Courtney Hope, Tahj Bellow, Sydney Mikayla were among our nominees who wound up with Emmy nominations for 2020.
Our winning actors didn’t do well: Chandler Massey, Lucas Adams and William Lipton didn’t get Emmy nominations, nor did Alison Sweeney. With the exception of CM we don’t know if any of them submitted for consideration.
