I really really really want Raven Symone to join on the main staff. It is wonderful seeing her back in the spotlight and she really is great these past few weeksMarch 17, 2015 at 6:43 pm #423979
I think one reason why I loved Raven was something The View has always been missing which is a young voice. They are all over 40 so it would be awesome for a young voice on the panelApril 9, 2015 at 9:49 pm #423980This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.June 10, 2015 at 8:27 am #423982
YAY RAVEN! I think she’s great! she’s very funny in many of the shopping segmentsJuly 15, 2015 at 4:38 pm #423984
It looks like Nicole is on her way out. It’s a shame. She was probably the most tame of the group and really held her own and had interesting things to say. Rosie grew on me but never really grasped anything really to bring to the table. I think Raven is improving, I was a bit worried after certain things she said but I think she is getting the groove. Michelle seems a bit bland as a co host honestly. I think ABC is shooting itself in the foot creating more and more rotating chairs by their word too. Rosie and Rosie left on their own terms but scraping people like Sherri Shepard and Nicolle Wallace seems so off base. They are on no proper footing to start laying off perfectly fine co hosts especially Nicolle. Sherri I could understand to just freshen things up after 7 years hosting but if Nicolle wants to stay let her.July 15, 2015 at 8:53 pm #423985
This merry go round ass program. When I did flip through channels and caught this, I did like what I saw of Nicolle. And Deadline’s Lisa de Moraes read this move for blood and I lived. I’m never one for calling for people to lose their jobs, but it’s time for this show to go into that television good night. How do you have a reboot and then there’s behind the scenes nonsense? Now there’s a high and miserable Whoopi Goldberg as den muva, a random comic, and two loud and wrong former kid stars as panelists. #messJuly 17, 2015 at 7:02 am #423987
This show is seeming like such a mess. I’ve caught parts of a couple of episodes at the gym, where I could see them and read a few captions but not really hear what was happening, and it always looked like Raven Symone was trying to be incindiary when she spoke. Granted, I don’t know what she was saying, it was just an observation based on her facial expressions and gestures.
Anyway, I always thought your suggestion was a great idea, gdfl. There’s a pretty unavoidable predictability that comes from watching the same combination of people over and over again, even after just a few weeks. Having a rotation is a good way to keep things fresh, so I think it’s smart they’re moving in that direction.September 2, 2015 at 11:12 pm #423989This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.September 3, 2015 at 5:43 am #423990
I never thought I’d say this, but I really miss Star Jones on this show. Seeing Candace Cameron Bure and Raven-Symone debate Constitutional religious freedom without any understanding of the Constitution made me cringe, but, evidently, was fiery enough to have them on the permanent panel. I don’t find Collins very funny or insightful, something Joy Behar, also a comic, managed to be very often, and don’t see what Faris adds just yet. My understanding was that Behar would be part of the rotating group, but welcome her presence more often, as it otherwise looks to me like Whoopi will have to be the “adult” on the panel with these others with apparently very limited life experience to speak from.September 4, 2015 at 7:36 pm #423991
I’ll give this show another year (not with personally viewing).
If it doesn’t get repaired by then…write it off.August 3, 2020 at 5:02 pm #1203625158This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.August 3, 2020 at 10:23 pm #1203625493
I’m not sure what The View’s primary value to ABC’s lineup is anymore. I don’t say that to imply it has no value, just that they get more traction from debates that get overly heated and the fact that a large sector of the audience hates Megan and sinks their teeth in like it’s a juicy steak whenever she shown up by someone else or says something foolish (the combination of which seems to happen fairly often). I hadn’t gotten the impression that fans don’t like Whoopi so much as they just don’t think she’s putting much effort into it. It’s a show that, on its surface, still has basically the same conceit with which it was started, but in execution seems really far from that.August 4, 2020 at 3:22 am #1203625675
Meghan announced a few months ago that she’s expecting, so she will soon be going on maternity leave (I’m assuming with the start of the new season in September).
