I agree on your ranking. It sounds like it’s between GH & Y&R.
B&B’s episodes sounds really boring.
For DAYS, The Abigail ep sounds good but the John ep sounds pretty ridiculous.
The 1st YR ep sounds great and the 2nd one sounds pretty good too but I don’t see how one would flow into the other.
I’d bet on GH since they submitted back to back eps that are self-contained, easy to follow and made really good use of their ensemble.April 25, 2017 at 7:06 am #1202075814
Days Ken Corday simply does not know how to submit ): if Days wins I will eat my proverbial hat, but why didn’t he submit stuff from Daniel’s death? The other three reels are all really strong. My prediction is that Y&R will win this year, but GH and B&B both have strong reels too.
But I think Y&R will win…April 25, 2017 at 10:43 am #1202076030
I’d want to watch these (again in most cases, the only ones I haven’t seen are Y&R’s), but it does sound like GH or Y&R. B&B’s Monte Carlo episodes were fun and beautiful, but I don’t think it was really the best the show had to offer. There was the secret with Quinn and Eric and the exposure of that, the delicious confrontation with Steffy and Quinn, but I’m disappointed they didn’t go for something stronger and something with a little more arc to it. I would have loved to see them incorporate Quinn and Eric’s wedding, which was a great point of drama, really beautiful, and featured big cast scenes that had impact. The second DAYS episode was fantastic in my opinion and one of the best of last year, but the first one was hilariously terrible. It was fun watching Marlena, Patch and Rafe skulk around that warehouse looking for John and Paul, but pretty much everything about the story was abysmal. I can’t believe they didn’t submit anything from either the excellent stuff at the start of the year with the New Year’s Eve car accident or the exciting hostage situation with escaped prisoners around Brady and Theresa’s wedding. I remember complaining a lot about GH around the time of the Julexis wedding and actually stopped watching it shortly thereafter, but I also remember those episodes being really compelling. On the surface, the Y&R episodes sound like a good combo, with high drama and action in one episode and a lot of romance (under Sally Sussman) in the second.April 25, 2017 at 6:35 pm #1202076401
My rankings are:
Those episodes of y&r we’re good as hell.April 25, 2017 at 6:44 pm #1202076410
It seems the only time I will pop up on this board is when the Emmys are near! Onto the reels and rankings:
It’s between GH and Y&R because they both have submitted the best reels. I have a feeling GH will win and I HOPE NOT………I’m pulling for Y&R.
B&B seems to submit reels that’s more DIRECTING than DRAMA SERIES. It was good but a bit boring. I do love the Monte Carlo scenes but again, it’s DIRECTING.
DAYS…………….the 2nd reel is excellent with Abigail and Ben scene in the mansion when she believes she sees Ben and come to find out in the end, she sees him holding Thomas. WTH were they thinking submitting the John, Yo Ling episode. This is what’s hurting DAYS. Corday really can’t pick reels.

I hope Y&R wins so bad the tapes we’re good as hell. There’s so much more going on in Y&Rs tapes than GH. B&B could have picked Liam confronting Quinn about her lies. Days could have picked Daniels death for the first reel. It would have gave them a better shot.April 27, 2017 at 4:11 pm #1202078165
I did not care for either of these episodes. I tolerated the episode about Adam because they had to write an an exit line. I find public exposure very trashy and distasteful, so I did not care for the New Year’s Eve episode.
The captivity of John and Paul was the very worst story on Days last year. I am shocked that they submitted that episode. Conversely, the episode with Ben, Abigail, and Chad was fantastic.
The episodes in Monte Carlo were very enjoyable. They had romance, humor, intrigue… a bit of everything. The presentation was genuine and not melodramatic.
Both of these episodes were violent and over-the-top. Basically, they serve as a showcase as to why I stopped watching GH.

I only watch General Hospital, therefor I haven’t seen the other Soaps nominated episodes. I won’t be commenting on who should win, but I will make one observation…..
Why did General Hospital not submit something from Morgan’s death? Although they weren’t a grand spectacle, they were heart wrenching and beautifully acted. Idk, I just didn’t love any of the Alexis/Jullian wedding.
I guess we will see!
