Sad to hear this news. Loved his work as Julian on Passions. R.I.P. Ben Masters.

Heartbreaking to hear that he’d been suffering from dementia the last few years and is now gone after succumbing to COVID. His work as Julian was legendary.

That ever present mischievous twinkle in his eye always made Ben Masters the one to watch. One of the very few actors that could legitimize the absurd and made you think you were watching Chekov.

May you now dream with angels.

100% that show doesn’t work without him as the original ruthless baddie.  One of the best!

He was great. I wish he had received at least an Emmy nomination. I agree with Berlin2002: he made the most absurd plots seem “real” with a combination of mustache-twirling villain, genuine vulnerability, and a meta-self-awareness of how ridiculous everything was. Also, he had sizzling chemistry with Kim Johnston Ulrich as Ivy, and especially Tracey Ross as Eve.

“Passions” was really good those first few years, especially year one. Then it just descended into chaos.
