Marnie Schulenburg, who played troubled Alison Stewart on As the World Turns from 2007 to 2010, has passed away at the age of 37. Soap Opera Digest states that, since 2020, the actress had been battling stage 4 metastatic breast cancer; she died just a few days before turning 38.

In 2013, Schulenberg also popped up on the Prospect Park reboot of One Life to Live as Jo Willliams. Her other credits include Tainted Dreams, Elementary, City on a Hill, The Good Fight, Royal Pains, and The Young and the Restless (where she made a brief appearance as Alison). Her work on ATWT earned her a 2010 Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series.

Schulenberg is survived by her husband, Zack Robidas, and their two-year-old daughter, Coda.

So sad ): She was wonderful as Alison Stewart.

Incredibly sad news. She was a gifted actress who brought so much nuance and maturity to the role of Alison Stewart (heck, she was even great as a Rosanna double back when Marnie first came onto the scene at ATWT). Those years (the mid-to-late 2000’s), during which she was part of the cast, made up such a prolific period for Daytime’s young adult scene, at which ATWT was truly at the forefront (Jean Passanante really understood how to write for the teens/young adults in a way that was unparalleled at the time, imo), and a lot of that credit goes to Marnie. My deepest condolences to her friends and family.

This is really devastating news. I loved Marnie as Alison on ATWT. She had kind of a tough road with fans because of being a recast, but she did a great job playing her version of the character. My thoughts and sympathies are with her family and friends.
