    1. Maura West, As the World Turns (06)
    2. Maura West, As the World Turns (09)
    3. Martha Byrne, As the World Turns (00)
    4. Susan Flannery, The Bold and the Beautiful (01)
    5. Kim Zimmer, Guiding Light (05)
    6. Erika Slezak, One life To Live (04)
    7. Susan Flannery, The Bold and the Beautiful (02)
    8. Jeanne Cooper, The Young and the Restless (07)
    9. Michelle Stafford, The Young and the Restless (03)
    10. Susan Haskell, One Life To Live (08)

It is insane that Robin Strasser didn’t win several times during that decade – she wasn’t even nominated. Kassie DePaiva was only nominated once (2004 – she wasn’t nominated for “live week”, which I think was 2002?). Only two of these ten winners were my choices (Maura Weest – twice) out of who was nominated but they are all wonderful actresses.

My picks were: Marcy Walker, AMC; Colleen Zenk, ATWT; Nancy Lee Grahn, GH; Maura West, ATWT; Kassie DePaiva, OLTL; Beth Ehlers, GL; Maura West, ATWT; Maura West, ATWT; Debbi Morgan, AMC; and Maura West, ATWT

I would list them for the year in which they received their Emmys. Television is season to season—meaning, the period runs from the prior year to the current year—and the Emmy is received in that current year. (The first winner of the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress, which was Elizabeth Hubbard in The Doctors [NBC]—was in not 1973 but in 1974. The Oscars are a calendar basis. The awards are given in a year celebrating the previous year. (The 2019 not the 2020 Oscar for Best Picture was awarded to Parasite.)

2000: Susan Flannery, The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS)
2001: Martha Byrne, As the World Turns (CBS)
2002: Susan Flannery, The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS)
2003: Susan Flannery, The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS)
2004: Michelle Stafford, The Young and the Restless (CBS)
2005: Erika Slezak, One Life to Live (ABC)
2006: Kim Zimmer, Guiding Light (CBS)
2007: Maura West, As the World Turns (CBS)
2008: Jeanne Cooper, The Young and the Restless (CBS)
2009: Susan Haskell, One Life to Live (ABC)

    My ranks:

    1. A 2000 Susan Flannery
    2. A 2001 Martha Byrne
    3. A 2007 Maura West
