After seeing three recent daytime alums guesting on the same episode of The Following this week (Tom Pelphrey, Jennifer Ferrin, and Tom Degnan, plus series regular Natalie Zea), I thought we could create a thread to mention upcoming or recent appearances by some of our favorite former or current daytime on primetime shows.
In addition to those I just mentioned, Noelle Beck has been on The Carrie Diaries for the past two weeks.March 29, 2013 at 1:16 pm #424077
I missed the Jamie Lunar Supernatural, but I did see an episode from a month or two ago with Tamara Braun as a rancher’s daughter who’s become a somewhat successful country singer.April 6, 2013 at 12:53 pm #424079
Jennifer Bassey (Marion Colby Chandler, AMC) is guest starring Grey’s Anatomy for 3 Episodes starting April 25th.April 22, 2013 at 7:29 am #424080
I keep meaning to mention that Casey Deidrick popped up on Glee last week, very much to my surprise. I’m not sure if he’ll be making any additional appearances, though I could see it happening.April 24, 2013 at 7:57 am #424081
Seems like The Following can’t get enough of CBS Daytime alums. Meredith Hagner had a fairly prominent role in this past Monday’s episode, and I thought she was pretty great.May 6, 2013 at 1:32 pm #424082
Keep forgetting to mention that Casey Deidrick was on last week’s episode of Revolution. And sassy little scene stealer Lauren Boles reprised her role as Young Rachel on the April 25th episode of Glee.July 15, 2013 at 7:59 am #424083
I was surprised to see Stacy Haiduk with a small guest role on this week’s episode of True Blood, as a rough and tumble backwoods biker type hanging out in a werewolf bar.August 6, 2013 at 12:59 am #424084
On Monday’s The Talk, when Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence came on as guests, they showed a clip of their ABC Family sitcom, Melissa & Joey, in which I spotted Taylor Spreitler (ex-Mia McCormick, DAYS). After some research, I found out she’s a series regular and plays a free-spirited teen and niece to Melissa Joan Hart’s character. Looks like one of our young DAYS-alums has found her place in primetime!

Yes, ABC Family seems to be a great place for soap alums, especially the younger ones. Former DAYS actors Ashley Benson (ex-Abby) and Roark Crtichlow (ex-Mike) went from uncle and niece on DAYS to daughter and father on Pretty Little Liars, which also features Tammin Sursok (ex-Colleen, Y&R) in a pretty crucial role. And Alexandra Chando (ex-Maddie, ATWT) was pulling double duty starring as twins in the recently-cancelled The Lying Game. I think Tyler Christopher (Nicolas, GH) was also on that one. I’ve seen Vanessa Marano (ex-Eden, Y&R) on the commercials for Switched at Birth. I’m sure there are others I’m missing.August 23, 2013 at 8:44 am #424087
You can now add Wes Ramsey (Sam, GL; Owen, Days) to the list of former soapers appearing on Pretty Little Liars. He’ll be recurring in the second half of season four in winter.

This being the start of a new season, I’m sure there are tons of examples, but just to throw out a couple:
Melissa Fumero (ex-Adrianna, OLTL) is starring in the buzzy new Fox comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and I thought she was really good in Tuesday’s pilot episode, in addition to looking beautiful, which she always does.
And the equally beautiful Eric Winter (ex-Rex, DAYS) is in the new Lifetime drama The Witches of East End, which apparently has been hanging around since sometime last year but will finally see air in a couple of weeks.October 8, 2013 at 8:02 am #424089
I’m a little late on this, but Blake Hood was on the season premiere of Revolution a couple of weeks ago, and damn did he look good.October 8, 2013 at 10:44 pm #424090
