    1. JUDI EVANS, Days Of Our Lives
Deserved to win last year, she didn’t get worthwhile material until the end of the year in 2016. I just love her!

    2. KATE MANSI, Days of Our Lives
Abigail’s breakdown was harrowing. Emmy-worthy material! her scenes with Robert Scott Wilson’s Ben were particularly good.

    3. STACEY HAIDUK, The Young and the Restless
Crazy Patty really delivers stellar performances! Her work with Sharon Case, Camryn Grimes and esp. Doug Davidson was superb in 2016.

    4. KELLY SULLIVAN, The Young and the Restless
Sage learning that Christian is still alive was great work on the way off the show…

    5. FINOLA HUGHES, General Hospital
Always intelligent performances from this terrific actress.

    6. ANNA MARIA HORSFORD, The Bold and the Beautiful
Vivian wasn’t on much, but when she learned of Julius’ love child she was quite moving.

    7. AMELIA HEINLE, The Young and the Restless
Victoria is always compelling. Always solid.

    8. ELIZABETH HENDRICKSON, The Young and the Restless
Chloe is back and she’s always interesting. Just not a particular favorite of mine.

    9. EILEEN DAVIDSON, The Young and the Restless
I don’t remember anything particularly Emmy-worthy from ED last year. I always enjoy her performances.

    10. MICHELLE STAFFORD, General Hospital
Meh. I don’t get it. I miss her as Phyllis.

Although the list of actresses is impressive, none of them had the combination of strong performances, compelling stories, and consistent air time that spells win.

I find it rather anti-climactic when an actor wins after leaving the show, so departed actors typically go to the bottom of my list (last year Kassie DePaiva was an exception for me as she was my very favorite in 2015). Therefore I would rank Kelly Sullivan, Kate Mansi, and Stacey Haiduk near the bottom.

Elizabeth Hendrickson and Michelle Stafford share the dubious distinction of playing annoying characters in weak story lines.

Amelia Heinle and Eileen Davidson can always be counted on to turn in strong performances, but I do not think either had the strongest material.

Anna Maria Horsford turned in some great performances, but her air time was limited. Judi Evans is in a similar situation, but turned in some very powerful performances. Finola Hughes was off for a good bit of the year, but turned in some very strong performances and aired frequently in the spring and fall.
