    Yes, if Nicholas Chavez submits in lead actor, I expect he would get nominated there. (I believe nominations will be released mid-April. Now that the rulebook for this year as finally been released, I’ll do a separate post with dates and major highlights.)

    While I’m usually rolling my eyes about situations where someone accidentally mortally injures someone and decides that a lifelong coverup attempt is better than just calling the authorities and explaining themselves, Ava’s concern over what Victor would do if he found out that she killed Nikolas felt quite justified. Of course, for a number of reasons, I’m having a very hard time believing that Nikolas is dead. It’s strange to me that Austin’s first instinct wasn’t to check Nikolas to see if he was really dead. But I guess a coverup story could be fun, even if it feels like a bit of a re-do of what happened with Finn, Liz and Peter.

    It was nice meeting Portia’s father and brother. The scenes at the party where Trina was dancing in the background with Marshall’s hat on are great.

    None of Laura’s children are on the show at the moment – I think it’s time to bring back Lulu and/or Lucky. I was thinking that it would be great if Jonathan Jackson were willing to return but another idea is Tom Pelphrey – unlikely he would want to return to daytime but I was picturing him as an edgier Lucky. Please don’t cast Hunter King though for Lulu! (;

    I don’t want Ava to face any consequences for her actions! This is me being a hypocrite! (; I feel very protective towards Ava. She’s a reformed bad girl who hasn’t been getting in to a whole lot of trouble for a long time now so this is interesting. Years ago she killed Connie Falconeri and got away with it… (;

    I have been surprised they haven’t done a baby drama (yet) with Amelia Grace. I thought there would be a baby switch with Esme’s baby or something along those lines…

    A lot of people, myself included, expected something along the lines of a baby swap, with both Willow and Esme being pregnant, but I’m glad they’ve avoided that. Amelia Grace is a lovely name, and that baby is so beautiful. I’ve seen a lot of criticism that they’ve named the baby Amelia Grace Corinthos, given all that’s going on with Michael and Sonny, but honestly, nothing else would really make sense. For one thing, Michael has been clear that he wants to redeem the Corinthos name, not abandon it. They could name the baby Quartermaine, but unless Michael changed his last name to Quartermaine as well (and why would be, since he’s getting all the perks of being a Quartermaine while still trading on what the Corinthos name gets him), it would just be odd. There’s no sense in giving the baby Willow’s last name, Tait, which was the invention of a woman hiding from her past and which I’m sure she’ll change once she and Michael get married.

    I can just imagine how hard it must be for Nina not to be able to hold her grandchild. When Sonny said how it’s nice for Michael to have this when he didn’t have it with Wiley, my first thought was how tough it is for Nina to have been denied this with both of her daughters and her grandson, but of course Carly feels the need to try to make it as if what happened with Nelle and Michael is somehow Nina’s fault. I have to say, the caring/concerned Carly we got in the scenes with Michael and Willow today is my least favorite kind of Carly. Given how selfish and nasty she can be with most people, I can’t even buy this level of attempted tenderness from her as a character. I wish the semi-secret of her relationship with Drew was something that actually mattered, but since most people kind of assume that something is or soon will be going on with her and Drew anyway, and the whole idea that hiding the relationship will even make a difference in any potential insider trading charges is pretty silly, I doubt this will amount to anything more than probably just making Nina and Liesl look bad.

    I feel so bad for Laura, who is trying so hard to keep her family intact and keep Nikolas from getting into an even worse situation than he’s already in. I agree that with Nikolas being off screen for a while, the show really needs to get Lucky and/or Lulu back on the canvas. (Lucky especially could be needed, with Elizabeth now determined to face legal consequences for her part in Esme’s imprisonment — someone pointed out the other day how illogical it is that Finn and Elizabeth assumed that should she go to prison, taking care of the younger boys would fall to their 19-year-old brother Cam and not Lucky, who is alive and well, Aiden’s biological father and I believe Jake’s legal father.) Jonathan Jackson is of course a great actor, but I’d rather they find a recast for Lucky who both would be willing to stay around long term and more fits the adult version of the character as he developed after JJ’s first stint. If they could cast a Lucky that fans liked and had great chemistry with Rebecca Herbst, it would really do a lot for the show. Liz/Lucky is a good endgame pairing, but they could also spent so much time working on the issue that have been between them all these years. Bringing Lulu out of the coma soon would also be good. I never thought Emme Rylan was a good casting choice for Lulu, but if the show could get Julie Marie Berman back, that would be great. Even if she were only willing to do a year or so, it would be good to have her to play out the drama of her coming back and disrupting the Dante/Sam relationship and then transition to a recast who is more suited to the role.

    I wish Ava luck in avoiding the consequences of her frankly very understandable actions where Nikolas is concerned, and hopefully it soon turns out that the damage is way more minimal than she thought.

    They are raising the stakes with Willow – Michael has always been the kiss of death for all of his girlfriends but they seem very invested in Willow so I think there will be a last minute save. Question: did they kill Madeline off or is she in prison somewhere? Might she be a match or know someone who would be? Liesl might be a match but that doesn’t seem likely story-wise to me…

    Donna was adorable today!

    Alexis and Gregory are a snoozefest ): I miss lawyer Alexis and her complicated relationships with men like Julian.

    I am confused as to where exactly Nikolas’s body is? Is it definite that he is really dead? They are always whisking dead people away on this show and then they turn up alive – still half-expecting for Peter to show back up alive ):

    I hope Nina becomes proactive in trying to find a solution to save her daughter…

    I loved Liesl walking up to Terry, the hospital chief of staff, and demanding to be tested to see if she’s a bone marrow match for Willow, partly because she did it in trademark dramatic Liesl fashion and partly because it’s hilarious that she hadn’t gotten tested yet. I figured everyone they know would have been tested, especially relatives. I’m kind of glad the umbilical stem cell thing didn’t work out, not so much because I want Willow to die (that’s whole separate complicated set of feelings for me) but because it now feels a little less absurd that they could have had this option all along and were acting like it didn’t exist until Nina turned out not to be a match. I was under the impression that Madeline was dead, but I wasn’t watching the show when that happened, so I don’t know for sure or know whether there’s any wiggle room there. Even if Liesl isn’t a match, I really hope the solution comes through Nina’s bloodline somehow. I’m sure people will still act like Carly did nothing wrong, but it will feel more satisfying if her actions really did actively delay Willow’s ability to be treated. I’m still assuming Willow won’t die, but I assumed Oscar wouldn’t die either until maybe a week or so before it happened. Maybe she will.

    I think Nikolas’s body is still locked in that closet where Ava put him? Unless Austin and Ava moved him to somewhere else. With the staff off for the evening and no one else around, it certainly would have made sense for Ava to have done something with the body the night the incident happened rather than waiting, but I’m not sure if they did.

    It still feels like such a silly mistake to have taken away Alexis’s license to practice law and instead turned her into a newspaper person. I suppose maybe there was a different trajectory of things before Sean Blakemore left the show, but still, the newspaper scenes are so so boring, and her not being a lawyer takes away so many storyline possibilities.

    Little Donna is so so cute!

    Does anyone know when Nancy Lee Grahn’s memoir is going to be released? I thought I read it would be in February 2023… looking forward to it!

    I wonder if they will find that Nikolas’s body isn’t there when they go to find it? Everybody keeps on getting talked into delaying things that they really need to just do! (;

    I really want Nina to the be the one who figures out how to save Willow – or they just kill her off since Michael is the kiss of death to all of his girlfriends! (;

    I have to say, it’s so great having a soap wedding that really feels like a classic soap wedding — it’s being held in a church, plenty of cast members are there, drama from other storylines is playing out, family has come from out of town to attend, people are dressed up and looking fabulous, the proceeding are stretching over several days, and of course there’s the potential that a huge secret could derail everything. Fun times!

    So true. Although the number of wedding guest have been scaled back sizably since the supersized estate wedding that launched Luke and Laura into pop culture history or Jessie and Angie’s spectacular ” Die Hard ” second wedding, Curtis and Portia’s wedding delivered.The visual scope of the ’80’s and ’90s themed “excess is best ” didn’t RSVP in time but the drama and most important, romance was in attendance for Curtis and Portia’s nuptials. Donnell Turner did some of his best work ever as an actor just standing quiet & not saying a word. Future and hopefully this year’s Best Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy winner Brooke Kerr was a knockout. Forged DNA test or not, whose going to leave that vision of beauty standing alone at the alter? Not since All My Children’s Natalie Hunter’s marriage to Palmer Cortlandt have I seen such a sublime wedding dress as Portia’s. It was the dress that dreams are made of and she wore it like a modern day Audrey Hepburn. Hey Brooke Kerr, excuse me lady, but your class is showing. A+.

    The biggest surprise about the well attended wedding is that Curtis and Portia are now married! Thought for sure the wedding would be interrupted. It was so nice to see a full wedding on daytime!

    Now they need to address where Nikolas’s body is; are they really going to FINALLY have Ryan break out of prison?; is the hook killer done with his or her murders?; is the woman at the pub Maggie Fitzgerald?…. tune in tomorrow, as they used to say all the time! (;

    I was looking for information on this year’s Emmys and alas there is no information available out there. Last year the nominations didn’t come out until May 5th (!!!). This is the last year of the 3 year CBS contract to air the awards, which I believe will once again be in June. I so wish we still had pre-nominees and I have always wished we could get a full list of everyone who has submitted and in which category. I miss the old days of actually getting to see the reels.

    I have to apologize, as I said I would do a longer post with some of the information I learned about this year’s Emmys, but haven’t had a chance to do so yet. According to the calendar in the call for entries, the final entry deadline for submissions is March 7, judging will occur from March 20 through April 10, nominations are expected to be announced in mid-April, and the ceremony will be held on Friday, June 16. I’ll try to get to that post later today.

    I agree that the wedding has really delivered, and Brook Kerr looks STUNNING in that dress.

    It definitely seems like the pub woman is Maggie, with her silly, convoluted story about “Marjorie” and her having all those letters from Esme. I was just thinking that it would be fun if, in addition to finding Maggie, Sam and Dante also find Lucky and drag him back to Port Charles with them. I’m still laughing at Finn telling Elizabeth that if she goes to prison, Cam will have to take care of his little brothers, like Lucky doesn’t even exist.

    “Road trip?” – I burst out laughing! In real life, no, he had just killed that poor guard…

    Trina was sending daggers towards Portia, wasn’t she? That’s going to be an interesting conversation!

    Looks like the barmaid is Maggie Fitzgerald and Dante has gotten there just in the nick of time!

    Another great episode!

    LOL, I’m glad that we will finally have Ryan out and doing things again, at least for a while, rather than sitting in Spring Ridge pretending he can’t move or speak. That should be fun. It’s good that Dante and Sam found Maggie, and so quickly. I keep forgetting that most people don’t know Ryan is Esme’s father, since we’ve known for so long, so Maggie can help connect those dots for people, I suppose.

    The wedding drama continues! I’m surprised that Trina is making a public confrontation out of Stella’s prodding, especially since she seemed clueless about what the secret actually is, but it definitely makes things more exciting. I’m sad that Zeke (and Sterling) left so early. I was hoping Zeke would stick around town for a while, but maybe he’ll be back soon. He would make a great love interest for Brad.

    Excellent work from Tabyana Ali and Brook Kerr today. I like that Portia truly doesn’t know – it’s still wrong of her to keep this secret but it’s not as bad as it could be.

    So surprised that both Ava and Felicia are there when Ryan shows up, and that Austin is there but not to Ryan’s knowledge. Glad Ryan didn’t kill Mac! I wonder if Esme will find out these two lunatics are her birth parents? (;

    I would like for Lucas to come back and be paired up once again with Brad, especially if they can get Ryan Carnes back on to the show.

    I read that Drew Cheetwood will return for the tribute to Sonya Eddy and her character Epiphany.

    This episode was super exciting! Great work from everybody, including the directors and the writers!

    Yesterday’s episode was KILLER. The Portia/Trina scenes were great, and I loved Curtis, Taggert and Marshall trying to extract information from Spencer at the same time. Great performances by Tabyana Ali and Brook Kerr. Kerr has been terrific throughout this wedding week playing the range of Portia’s emotions and her conflict.

    I also have to say that I LOVE amnesiac Esme. I hope she doesn’t get her memory back for a long time. Avery Pohl is so good in the scenes with Esme, Heather and Ryan. Ryan showing up at Wyndemere just as Felicia was leaving was a great moment. I should have expected it, but I was so wrapped up in what was happening that I wasn’t thinking about what might be about to happen. I find it very funny that Ava and Austin’s plan is to bury Nikolas’s body in the Pine Barrens. Who knows how far upstate Port Charles is, but it seems like it will take so long to drive to the Pine Barrens (in South Jersey) and back that they’d have be prepared to get caught returning to Wyndemere in broad daylight.

    Yowzers, what a cliffhanger! I had just been thinking “I wonder if Austin will be killed off” and while he could survive having the hook killer attack him (is it Heather or is it Esme? LOL!) (;

    I love that Laura is figuring it out that Ryan would head for Wyndemere! Looking forward to next week!

    The scene between Taggart and Trina was so sweet! Awwww! (:

    Gaslighting Eileen Ashby is fun too.

    Another great episode!
