Did anyone else do a double take when they put on a new Lucas? Where did that come from???
ReplyCopy URLNovember 17, 2020 at 1:37 pm #1203844033I’d been warned ahead of time by someone who saw the show before I did, but boy was it jarring! I still haven’t seen anything about why they did the switch — who knows, maybe Ryan Carnes quit months ago and it was just never reported — but Daytime Confidential is saying it’s not a temporary recast. Lucas suddenly showing up and reminding us that he also is terminally pissed at Julian is probably another bad sign for Jules.

ReplyCopy URLNovember 18, 2020 at 7:26 am #1203845024Oh man, Julian just hit a perfect 10 on the bad decision meter!
I agree, great episode. Revelations left and right. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

ReplyCopy URLNovember 18, 2020 at 10:44 pm #1203846977^^Absolutely. I think it’s a storm of a few factors: Jason and Britt have great chemistry, where Jason and Sam currently have none. Tying Britt into a story with Jason also has appeal because it tethers her to the canvas beyond whatever is happening with the Cyrus story. And many of us are probably happy to take any reason to split up Jason and Sam because the show is pretty much acknowledging that their relationship isn’t worth being in (let alone watching) without something trying to come between them or keep them apart.

ReplyCopy URLNovember 19, 2020 at 8:09 am #1203847596Yes! I’ve been rather critical of the way the show treats Julian, but Cyrus’s indictment of him was spot on: he repeatedly and consistently fails to realize the consequences his actions will have past whatever he’s getting out of the deal in the moment. I think Cyrus, in the last week or so, has started to feel much more genuinely menacing and dangerous, which is good because it means Sonny and Jason will have to start doing something about it. It’s much better than when Cyrus was just going around harassing Jordan, annoying everyone and making thinly veiled threats to fire or kidnap people.
I’m glad they brought Brad back into the mix with this Julian story as well (and now I see why they might have needed Lucas back on). I wonder if he has any idea why he was attached.

ReplyCopy URLNovember 19, 2020 at 12:45 pm #1203848175Another great episode – particularly loved the scenes between Ava and Julian and the ones between Britt and Brad!!!!! Superb!!!! This show is ON FIRE!!!!! Each scene lately has been crackling with excitement and interest, with very rare exceptions. The direction is crisp, the writing is spot-on, and the acting has been amazing! I so look forward to GH each and every day!!! So great to see Parry Shen back on the show – I hope he sticks around…

I love the idea that Cyrus is doing whatever drug stuff but his real ambition is to go around town reading people for filth. No wonder he was getting in boozy Alexis’s face. She’s his biggest competition.
Also, I loved the Carly/Jason exchange where she asks why he’s talking to Britt:
Carly: Everyone hates her!
Jason: Everyone used to hate you, too.
Hilarious, and of course Carly is threatened by Jason potentially having another woman whose trouble-making tendencies might sap his attention in his life.
ReplyCopy URLNovember 20, 2020 at 8:11 am #1203849998I really hope this doesn’t lead to months of Carly not approving of the woman Jason is with because that Carly is EXHAUSTING!
ReplyCopy URLNovember 20, 2020 at 9:09 pm #1203851927That sure was an explosive cliffhanger!!!!
At the Floating Rib were: Dustin and Lulu; Dev and Cam; Danny and Jason – anybody else???
I really like Dustin and wish they would do more with him but I sense he might be a goner???
ReplyCopy URLNovember 22, 2020 at 9:42 pm #1203856435Such a great Friday cliffhanger! Another really good episode. They did a great job of building tension and suspense — would Julian deliver the bomb? Would it go off? Who would be at the Rib when it does? (I believe Liz and Franco were there as well.) I also like how we didn’t really see what all might have been happening in the Rib right before the explosion, just Dev reporting the suspicious package and then seeing the explosion from the outside.
Cyrus being willing and really quite eager to blow up a restaurant full of people really is a great reminder that, even though most of we see of Cyrus on screen is pestering, he’s incredibly callous and ruthless. This will be the second time he’s tried and failed to kill Jason (assuming, of course, that Jason will live), so things will probably escalate.
If the rumors of a cast bloodbath are true, this could be a way of getting rid of any of the characters who were inside. Lulu was rumored to be out, but characters like Dustin and Dev could easily be shuffled off as well. There was also speculation they’d get rid of Roger Howarth, and I kind of doubt that Liz and Franco will actually go to see Patrick at Berkeley.
