    Yes, that is sad news. I wasn’t watching the show during his time on it, so I really knew him from coming on to play Alistaire Crane on Passions. The character was despicable, but Reilly was very lively and very memorable in the role. I look forward to seeing how GH will honor him.

    I hope we get to see more of Lesley as we had “breaking news” here that day ): Why do they always interrupt the soaps and not so much other programming??? (;

    I was yelling at the t.v. yesterday “stay dead, Sonny!”. Wish he truly was gone from the show once and for all!!! (; I personally think the positioning of criminals as the leads on soaps was a large part as to why the form has died – yes, of course, there are many other factors but I do think characters such as Sonny is why the ratings are so low these days. I know people who still watch likely don’t see it my way…

    How long is Jane Elliot staying??? I thought this was just another guest stint but it’s been a long one! Loving it!!!!

    I wish Michael would acknowledge his real dad A.J. every once in a while….

    Love Chase. Love Sasha and Brando.

    Haley Pullos has been great lately – wish they would give her more to do.

    If they do bring back a recast Morgan I hope Mike Manning plays the role!

    I really hope they don’t bring back Morgan (though Bryan Craig announced he’s ready to come back to soaps, so if they did, it would likely be him). Not only do I dislike that character, but honestly, Sonny and Carly don’t deserve it.

    The way Carly and Sonny think they can just collect and raise other people’s kids is so appalling. Sonny’s children are constantly imperiled by his work, and Carly is overtly willing to accept the danger on behalf of her kids because she likes the power. Carly acting like Ava was evil for now wanting Avery to live with her and Nikolas was absurd. Carly is crying to Jax about it, like he wouldn’t be trying to grab Josslyn out of that house so fast if something happened to Carly and only Sonny were still there. Carly kept Michael from AJ, kept Spencer from Nikolas, wants desperately to keep Avery from Ava, and, for good measure, is keeping Nina from knowing that Nelle was her daughter. It’s unreal.

    I have to say, I thought when Sonny fell into the river that they’d find him relatively quickly and would mostly be worrying about/eulogizing him in the interim, but I’m really enjoying the fallout from him being presumed dead. I always thought it would be interesting to see Jason running the business rather than Sonny, and I liked hearing a little more about some of the business stuff when Jason was going over things with Carly. I find Sonny and Carly totally insufferable, but I love Jason, so I’m more invested in him running things. (Though, to be clear, I’m be happy to live with no mob-centric stories.)

    I meant to also say that the North Jersey accent on the guy who picks up Sonny in the woods is pretty perfect. I do wonder, though, how far Sonny had to be carried down that river to get to an area that could be described as ‘the woods,’ haha.

    ^^ yeah don’t try to make sense of the geography in this show. I never got how a town in upstate NY had a massive harbor.

    I know I shouldn’t, but I do keep trying to think about where Port Charles actually is. Western New York, Phyllis says, closer to Pennsylvania (than to New Jersey, I guess) . . .

    I’m not sure if anything is actually going on here, but Sam seemed high as a kite for the first half of yesterday’s GH, which made all the high-minded criticism of Alexis pretty funny.

    Great to see Laura and Curtis catching up with each other. Poor Curtis had hopped out of the Florence/Cyrus business just before it got interesting.

    I’d forgotten that my favorite version of Sonny is absurd action hero Sonny. Him taking out the robber at the bar was almost as good as him dramatically getting out of his wheelchair and walking to challenge that gunman at Alexis and Julian’s wedding.

    While almost everything on the show is working quite well right now, it’s getting torturous to watch Michael and Willow go round and round about what to do with their marriage and their feelings for Sasha and Chase. I can see how on paper this might seem like the interesting part of the story, but I think for me a few things are weighing it down: Michael and Willow do have romantic chemistry, and there really hasn’t been anything to make them seem like they belong together other than wanting to co-parent Wiley. Sasha seems to have moved on to greener storyline pastures that being Michael’s girlfriend, and really neither Michael nor Willow seems to care as much about their lost relationship with Sasha as they do their relationship with Chase. And Chase just feels like he should be an easy choice for Willow over Michael, so it doesn’t jive that Michael and Willow are as indecisive about their relationship now as they were three months ago. It seems like we need a situation where either Willow and Michael decide they want to stay together (maybe Willow can’t get past the trust issue with Chase), but then of course Willow is drawn to Chase and eventually something happens there, or Willow decides she wants to be with Chase but then Michael realizes he wants Willow and makes things difficult.

    Loved the cat and mouse scene between Olivia and Tracy!!! I am really intrigued to see how this story plays out!!! NLG has been terrific in all of her scenes as well.

    Cameron is such a good soul, he really cares about his friends and family. He was a bit of a brat a few years ago but he has matured very nicely.

    I do wish they would get on with it where the Peter story and how Franco fits in with it is concerned! They sure are taking their time! I assume things will start to really happen during the double wedding.

    I would actually like it to turn out that Finn is Chase’s father!!! That would be a nice soapy twist!

    I hope Nelle returns soon and that she finds out that Nina is her mother. I don’t believe she is dead, which on soaps you never really know for certain!

    It’s been cited in the other thread already, but I wanted to echo the kudos for the performances surrounding the reveal of Ned and Alexis’s tryst.

    I’ve really enjoyed the way this story has unfolded and the performances involved. Jane Elliot is always great, and for me Lisa LoCicero’s Olivia is really the heart of the show (no disrespect to Laura). LiLo’s choices in the confrontation scenes in yesterday’s episode, the posture and the body language, were great. I also love that the story has allowed for a great range of emotions and reactions over the course of Olivia figuring out the truth. It’s also great that Tracy essentially causes the thing she’s trying to avoid, because Olivia is only even thinking through all of this because of Tracy framing Alexis for drunk driving. Well done.

    While I don’t want Nelle back in Port Charles, it would be kind of interesting if Sonny, still with amnesia, ran across her in New Jersey. Sonny will eventually be back in Port Charles and eventually remember who he is, at which point he’d tell Carly that Nelle’s alive and the secret she and Jax are keeping some Nina becomes even more explosive. Although, given the movement with the necklace, the jig may be up before that happens. They also mentioned having found Nelle’s body on the Pennsylvania side of the river like a dozen times, and Chase identified it, so she may be pretty dead for the time being. GH still seems to respect the basic premise that if there’s a corpse, someone is actually dead.

    The last couple of days have been very exciting, and hopefully the truth about Nina’s daughter will finally, finally be revealed. I think a big part of why I haven’t really loved Cynthia Watros as Nina is that the character usually lacks the energy she had with Michelle Stafford. Yesterday’s scenes surrounding the the necklace had a great urgency to them that worked really well for her. I hope all of Carly and Jax’s shenanigans with the Nelle secret and the necklace come to light, and I hope Ava and Nikolas show up just in time to see it.

    Also, will this finally be the end of drunk Alexis? With that story, this necklace reveal and everything that’s been set up with Peter, it looks like it’ll be a thrilling February sweeps.

    I agree! Though I have to say, it was a bit of a letdown the way the reveal of Nelle as Nina’s daughter played out. The show did a great job of incorporating stakes and drama into the reveal for a character who is no longer on the canvas, but I wanted some real fireworks between Nina and Carly. I’m sure there’s more to come. It just feels like Carly got off easy for breaking her neck trying to deceive Nina about this for months and honestly so did Jax by getting to claim that his actions were more about protecting Nina and siding with Carly. But I’m sure there’s more to come. I am very engrossed in all of the storylines right now.

    I am thinking about who I wish they had cast in the role of Gregory: Scott Bryce, Justin Deas, Ron Raines, Jerry verDorn, Lane Davies, Hunt Block, Walt Willey, Geoffrey Pierson, Daniel Hugh-Kelly… I am sure I have left other soap veterans out that would be great choices too. My problem with this actor who plays him is that while he is competent he is bland and not terribly compelling for me, I am not invested in his part of the story… I do hope that Finn is Chase’s father!!!!

    I also really don’t like the actor who portrays Cyrus and wish they had chosen any of the actors who I mentioned for the role of Gregory. I know it’s superficial but the pony-tail distracts me!!!

    Great work from Nancy Lee Grahn at the AA meeting!

    You know the show is doing great when you can tolerate the characters who most annoy you!!! (;

    I always look forward to GH and there are very few scenes that don’t land for me lately…

    I find it amusing that Ava and Nina are friends considering what Nina did to Ava when Avery was born!! But I really like that Ava has 2 female friendships with Nina and Laura. Ava has been behaving herself the past year and a half, not in all the trouble she got herself in constantly through the years (like murder and intentionally withholding important medications, etc.!)

    I noticed on Morgan’s gravesite that his birthday is the same as mine (different years, of course!)

    Looks like we will finally get some payoffs for storylines that have been brewing for a very long time and I am looking forward to the twists and turns!

    Well it’s not like Ava isn’t a stranger to mental health issues…
