Only three years? That’s crazy, and oh so soapy. And I thought Olivia and Dante were bad. I really miss Vinessa Antoine as Jordan (though it was exciting to hear that a U.S. channel, I think Fox, is going to be airing her Canadian show Diggstown in the U.S.) as well, though I think Jordan/TJ scenes are probably where Briana Nicole Henry comes closest to filling those shoes for me. It probably helps that TJ was also recast. I liked Tequan Richmond a lot, but I feel like Tajh Bellow could probably really make a mark in making the role his own if he had a more consistent presence. Also, having a TJ recast makes it much easier to forget TJ’s whole Sonny worship phase, which was gross.
I really love any scenes with Cam, Trina and Joss, and please keep putting Joss more in scenes with her friends and less in scenes with Carly. I love Josslyn as a character but hate the way the show uses her to basically justify all of Carly’s terrible behavior. I’m also such a sucker for any Cam/Franco scenes. They’ve developed such a sweet and loving relationship and come such a long way. Generally I didn’t care about Franco or Elizabeth very much before, but I’ve become a big fan of the pair and the family as well. It would be nice, as some people online have kind of said, Friz to get into a story that felt more revolved around Liz and Franco, but I’m rooting for them either way.
If I recall correctly, the last we saw Ryan there was a slight hint that maybe he wasn’t quite as immobile as they all thought, I think a slight twitch of a finger or something?
I’m also very fond of Portia (partly based on Portia, and of course partly based on being a Whitney Russell fan), and enjoyed her scenes with Curtis. I agree that Brook Kerr and Donnell Turner have good chemistry, and it’s nice to see Curtis having some fun.February 23, 2021 at 1:26 pm #1204057282
At least with Olivia and Dante she’s always been asked to play older than she is (the age gap is 9 years) since she’s supposed to be a childhood friend of Sonny’s who had Dante at 15. Maurice Benard is a full 7 years older than Lisa LoCicero but I think it’s easier for me to accept since she’s been on soaps for ages like Loving/The City. Plus Dominic seems to be playing younger so it kinda works. How the hell Briana Nicole Henry has a doctor son is basically a miracle of science only the Cassadines could pull off.February 24, 2021 at 9:10 am #1204058770
Haha, this is all true. Before I looked it up, I definitely thought LiLo and Dom were closer in age than they actually are, and their age difference is not far off from what it’s supposed to be on the show. It makes me wonder if there really wasn’t a better choice of actress out there to replace Vinessa Antoine as Jordan, someone who was both a bit older and more engaging as a leader in law enforcement.
Kudos to Diane for being basically the only person to say that yes, Carly should have told Nina that Nelle was her child instead of trying to keep it a secret. It’s killing me how everyone else feels perfectly fine with whatever lies Carly has told to the police and to Nina, but Nina telling the truth to the police is going too far. It was very sweet that Willow and Michael brought the Golden Child to see Nina, though.February 24, 2021 at 9:26 am #1204058805
I have mixed feelings about the constant short-term appearances by former regulars, such as Parry Shen, Sonya Eddy, the actor who plays Felix, etc. – it makes me wish to see them more often! I get that it is likely budgetary reasons but I miss my faves. I wonder why Milo never came back to the show?? He was great! I miss Sabrina and wish they hadn’t killed her off. So glad Britt is back, now if only her other great screen partner – Nicolas Bechtel as Spencer – were to return!!! Loved Britt and Brad’s scenes – friendship scenes tend to be really strong on GH more than the other shows…
I think we are getting close to some really good stuff happening… so looking forward to it all!!!!
I like Peter but I am all for comeuppances!!!February 25, 2021 at 9:03 am #1204060895
I’m a little surprised Sonya Eddy has been so absent lately. For a while she seemed to be getting more airplay than usual, with Epiphany dealing with some of the Cyrus stuff and breaking up with Milo, and now she’s just gone. I do miss having Brad around, and it was nice to see him with Britt. Honestly, he’s been in prison for almost a year now, right? How long was his sentence? I kind of like when a soap character goes to prison for a short-ish time and then gets out and comes back to the show.
Carly is THE WORST. I think the current writers really get her, though. She’s probably my favorite love-to-hate character on soaps right now. She’s been truly terrible to Nina, but feels so justified. Her being so mad when she saw Michael and Willow at Nina’s office with Wiley was great. I’m curious what exactly she wants from Nina when she tells Nina that they need to compromise. It seems almost like Carly wants to make Nina get back together with Jax, which I really hope doesn’t happen. The fact that Jax never even considered that his and Carly’s lies were keeping Nina from her own grandson is like all the proof anyone needs that she’s not enough of a priority for him. I, for one, look forward to Carly and Jax hopefully sleeping together, at least once before Sonny gets back, maybe after Sonny is back, who knows, and then of course keeping it a secret.
I’m very excited for all this Peter stuff coming to a head!February 26, 2021 at 8:56 am #1204062889
I am enjoying Michael E Knight’s role so much more now. Loved his scenes with his mom in Vermont. Sick of Jason though.
I wonder what Ryan is up to? That letter was addressed from Ryan and to Spencer and not the other way around???
Was Alex married to Dmitri Marik??? I noticed the return address on the envelope Olbrecht found at Peter’s apartment. (Does Peter not get paid very much? That’s a pretty meagre apartment!!)
Very excited to see what happens next! I think next week things will start to move forward!!!February 26, 2021 at 9:18 am #1204062967
1) Yes Alex and Dmitri were married at one point.
2) Peter moved in with Maxie for the time being. That’s her old apartment she’s had for most of the last decade.March 1, 2021 at 6:23 am #1204073286
I thought that was interesting, too, that it appeared Ryan had sent a letter to Spencer that got returned to sender. As great as Jon Lindstrom is as Ryan (and as much as the show seems fairly uninterested in giving Kevin any major story), I’m a little tired of the spectre of Ryan hanging over Ava’s life constantly. Maybe whatever he’s up to now will be a new way of making the character interesting and dangerous.
The comments about the apartment remind me of how Peter and Maxie were talking about getting a bigger place, but I’m sure the show didn’t want to bother with that for what’s ultimately going to be a doomed relationship.
Also, I just remembered this, but remember how the day Nina was burying Janelle, Carly showed up at the cemetery and, having a hallucinatory panic, knocked over the headstone? It makes the offense Carly took about Nina showing up at Sonny’s funeral pretty funny.March 1, 2021 at 8:04 am #1204073580
Carly and self awareness are not concepts that have ever gone hand in hand on this show…March 1, 2021 at 9:14 am #1204073931
I realized that the letter was address to S. Cassadine, which could be Stefan rather than Spencer???
So happy we are getting to the double wedding! I really do want Finn to learn that Chase is his son and not his brother – I hope they don’t let us down with a fizzling out of it… so looking forward to today’s episode!!!March 1, 2021 at 1:09 pm #1204074849

Yeah, it makes me think of when Carly saw Jason talking to Britt at the hospital and asked him, “Why are you talking to her? Everyone hates her.” And Jason didn’t miss a beat in responding, “Everyone hated you too.”
I can’t wait to see what happens with this wedding. The only person with their eye on the prize is Peter, but I’m sure Obrecht won’t just let that happen. Maxie is rightly doubtful, and Anna and Finn are both preoccupied with young men who sort of are/are not their sons.March 2, 2021 at 5:22 am #1204076122
I liked the surprise ending yesterday – wasn’t expecting Peter to be abducted!!! I am enjoying all the double wedding drama!!!March 2, 2021 at 6:11 am #1204076188
This show is doing some classic soap wedding stuff in a way that I haven’t seen in a while. Not only is there a bunch of drama surrounding both couples and plenty of secrets that could be exposed, but also much of the cast is involved, and we’re getting interactions between the guests/wedding party members that might not usually happen and also playing into their own dramas and storylines. Even without packing 25 or 30 cast members into a room together, they’re doing a great job with that. And even though it’s just the Metro Court and not a cathedral or any thing fancier, it still looks like a really nice wedding. Can’t wait to see what happens next!March 3, 2021 at 9:20 am #1204080007
I was clapping and cheering when Liesl showed up at the end of yesterday’s episode!!!! I am confused though: I thought Dante was supposed to be triggered in some way concerning Peter? They have never explained it well – to protect Franco and harm Dante?? Looking forward to more drama coming up!!!!
I have been enjoying the respite from Sonny and Cyrus and Carly the past several episodes – the show for me is much more enjoyable without them – and Jason too, but he has been on almost daily lately.March 3, 2021 at 2:59 pm #1204080739
Today’s episode answered my question – Dante has to hear that clicking sound. A surprise twist at the end with Valentin stepping up with a potential big reveal… I hope Finn and Anna can repair the damage she has done. A generally excellent episode!!!!
