So sad the way people just wanted to arrest and manhandle my girl Liesl. I guess after everything she’s done, I can understand why, but no one even seemed bothered that they were railroading the wrong person for two attempted murders and an actual murder. It’s one thing not to care about Liesl’s false imprisonment, but surely everyone should be more concerned that someone else committed these crimes and that someone else is likely Peter? Like, Mac is still yelling at Robert that he’s more concern about Maxie’s happiness (right this moment, not long term) than the truth about Peter?
This has all been very exciting, but it will be so disappointing if Peter and Maxie still get married. Hopefully between Valentin, Liesl and Dante, someone can stop it, although it frankly also would have been unsatisfying for them to have not gotten married just because of the maternity reveal and for Peter not to have been exposed at all, so I guess it’s better they’re pushing things along.
It’s also really bugging me that no one cares about Carly’s lies. Everyone’s all “she just lost her husband,” like he didn’t live a violent life of crime, and like his supposed death wasn’t because his constant threatening to kill Julian. It’s unclear to me if people just don’t realize that was Nina told the police was the truth or if they just feel it was out of line regardless. And not one person other than Nina seems bothered that Carly was actively working to keep Nina away from her own grandson, and convinced Jax to do the same. It’s disgusting. It also bugs me that we’ve had a couple of Ava/Nina conversations now with still no discussion of all of Carly’s antics with the telltale half-heart necklace.
It has been nice focusing lately mostly on stories that don’t revolve around Carly, Sonny and Cyrus.March 5, 2021 at 4:16 am #1204084761
Surprised by Peter’s lack of protest while everyone exposed all his crimes!!! Wondering if Maxie will have her baby prematurely due to the stress??? I really like Wes Ramsey but have the feeling his time might be up on the show???
As for Finn, I hope he thinks about his own hypocrisy as he is keeping secrets from his loved ones too. I hope Finn and Anna find their way back to one another.
So looking forward to what happens next!!!!March 5, 2021 at 7:02 am #1204085097
The Finn/Anna situation is interesting. On the one hand, he has been keeping the secret about his tryst with Jackie and potentially being Chase’s father for a long time, but on the other, he’s not keeping that secret from Anna. She, by contrast, not only directly lied to him about being Peter’s mother, but also left him out of the loop on her plan to disrupt their own wedding to keep Peter from marrying Maxie, and was thick as thieves with Valentin about both. I can see why that’d be tough to accept.
Poor Maxie. She was clinging to the idea that Peter couldn’t have been guilty because Anna would have told her, only for Anna to show up and confirm that she’d known concretely for a couple of days but suspected basically forever. Considering how much her willful ignorance enabled Peter, it feels like Anna does deserve some level of consternation from those around her, so none of it feels particularly unfair.March 6, 2021 at 3:33 am #1204087452
I read that Roger Howarth is leaving the show ): I really love Franco and Liz and Franco’s relationship with Cameron, too. I wonder if these spate of exits from the show have been the choice of the actors or have they been fired??? Emme Rylan, William deVry and now Roger Howarth…
Friday’s episode was exciting but I didn’t really understand what was up with Franco??? Is he really Drew??? I couldn’t figure out what was going on!March 6, 2021 at 5:42 am #1204087568
I have a feeling it’s budgetary. A lot of shows (regardless of type) are having to spend more to be compliant with COVID restrictions and with ratings down across the board and some aspects of the economy not spending as much on advertising at this point things are getting tight. Hopefully this is a situation where Howarth goes off canvass for a while and comes back as a new character like Michael Easton did.
EDIT: evidently William Lipton has gone down to recurring which could be a good thing to transition his character to going to college. Again this would probably be the right budgetary moves to trim down the cast.March 7, 2021 at 8:33 pm #1204093233
Yeah, that certainly sounds correct. Emme Rylan and Will deVry were both pretty clear that their exits weren’t their choices. I’d seen that William Lipton was recurring but don’t know the details of what, if anything, that means for the character (a good chunk of the cast is recurring anyway) and to what degree William would have wanted that. It’s not hard to believe that young actors wouldn’t be rushing to re-sign their contracts in order to keep their options open for other opportunities, in acting, music, or life in general.
I wasn’t totally sure what was happening in Franco’s head either at the end of Friday’s episode, but look forward to finding out.
I understand that Nina, in theory, overstepped and said some things that she maybe shouldn’t have to Wiley, but a lot of the conversation around this seems bunk. Willow is not the only mother Wiley’s ever known. In the time between the reveal that Wiley was Nelle and Michael’s baby and Nelle losing custody in court, she had plenty of visitation with him. If he remembers Sasha, which we’re told he did, I have a hard time believing he wouldn’t have a notion of a different mother before. Them acting like Nelle never existed is just a convenience for Willow, Michael and Carly, not to protect or avoid confusing Wiley.March 9, 2021 at 1:30 pm #1204101465
Franco’s death is so sad – no more Franco and Liz ): and Franco and Cam ): and Franco and Scotty ): I am really going to miss one of my favorite couples, one that I had real rooting interest in seeing succeed….
As much as I enjoy Wes Ramsey it is time for Peter to go! I will not be happy if Maxie forgives him or takes his side…
When they had to switch Todd Manning out and make RH Franco it didn’t work for awhile… until they paired him with Liz.
Kirsten Storms, Wes Ramsey, Rebecca Herbst and Finola Hughes all gave terrific performances on today’s episode.
I see that our break from Sonny ends tomorrow ): It’s been nice while it has lasted!March 9, 2021 at 4:57 pm #1204102130
Technically Todd can come back now…March 10, 2021 at 6:41 am #1204103738
What a harrowing death scene that was for Franco! I feel so so so bad for Cameron. The scenes with him and Scott were very sweet and very sad contrasted with the Franco dying. There’s been a lot of speculation about Todd being able to return now, which I get the impression people would enjoy. I was never a huge Todd fan, and I’d grown to like Franco a lot, so it’s a bad trade for me. Roger Howarth said he’s not leaving the show and is just on a hiatus now, so I guess we’ll see what that means soon enough.
The continued existence of Peter on this canvas is just astonishing. The fans hate him so much. If Maxie kicks him to the curb, that will at least mean they’re going the right direction. But I think the show thinks that making Peter more overtly villainous, the lines about being as bad as/worse than his father and that sort of thing, will appease viewers, but most just want him gone.March 10, 2021 at 9:19 am #1204104378
I don’t know if I’d really want Todd back since that always felt like a weird crossover, but I WOULD like Howarth as a new character like they did when they had Easton come back as Finn. Honestly the redemption of Franco was sort of half assed and the ever hanging presence of the actor who created him and for which the character is named is squicky af these days and wasn’t ever not. I feel bad for the Scotty and the boys characters because jeez how many times are they gonna play tragedy because Scotty lost a child and the kids lost their father figure? I hope we are at the end of the line for Peter. I don’t mind the actor and I wouldn’t object to him going off canvas or …and this is just thinking like a soap: what if Alex withheld the truth and Peter was a twin? And she arranged another adoption but Valentin didn’t know it was twins so this boy got raised in a good home and is the good twin a la Ryan and Kevin?March 10, 2021 at 12:54 pm #1204105426
So glad that Maxie said no to Peter and hope that remains the case in the future – great to see her grow a backbone!!! imo Peter needs to go pronto!
Cam’s ugly cry is so true to life and I have cried just like that after the death of loved ones.March 10, 2021 at 5:23 pm #1204106088
Poor Cam! Lots of real feeling seemed to be there. The when he said they would tell the younger kids together that was goodMarch 11, 2021 at 6:55 am #1204107767
I agree, I’d prefer Roger Howarth as a new character rather than coming back as Todd. What you said about both Todd and Franco is exactly right.
With Wes Ramsey, I think anything more they do with him or Peter or anyone who looks like Peter would be throwing good money after bad at this point. The actor isn’t particularly popular with fans, and it’s not like there’s a ton of unexplored potential within this realm that people are eager to see, so I don’t see a benefit to the actor coming back as a twin. Nathan and Peter weren’t full siblings, but they had the same evil father and differently wicked mothers. Peter was raised by said evil father, and Nathan was raised by his aunt, who was also fairly evil, who he thought was his mother, and he became a good person. That says enough for me. The only possible upside of creating a twin for Peter would be if he were played by a returning Ryan Paevey, but that would be pretty out there.
Anyway, poor, sweet Cam, and also Scotty, losing a third child. I always forget about Logan. I found the Jason interrogation scenes a little weird. I know it’s customary for him to say absolutely nothing without Diane present, but in a situation like this, similar to what happened with the shootout at the Secaucus train station with Julian, I would have expected him to tell her what happened privately and then her to advise him on what to say and what not to say to the police. The fact of them just saying nothing other than “I didn’t do it” feels counterproductive to both Jason not being prosecuted for the crime and the authorities catching the actual culprit, who Jason must suspect is Peter.March 12, 2021 at 9:19 am #1204112688
Anybody else have the feeling that we are being deceived where Franco’s death is concerned?? I just have a feeling we are in for a weird plot twist???
Cam enlisting Joss and Trina to help him prove that Franco isn’t dead is exactly why I love these three friends so so so much!!!
Not looking forward to seeing a defiant smug Peter in Port Charles – saw in the preview he will be on today at the Intruder office… ugh!March 14, 2021 at 8:32 pm #1204130041
I find it hilarious anytime Sonny performs a feat of heroics, like winning the money in the poker game to help Phyllis and Lenny on Friday, or like the time he shocked everyone by standing to take on that gunman at Julian and Alexis’s wedding. I think it’s because Maurice Benard always seems so unbelievably smug and self-congratulatory as Sonny even when he’s just standing around, and when he actually is helpful, the dial goes up to like 13.
Great performance from Josh Swickard in the Jackie/Finn reveal scenes!
