I was hoping for an exciting cliffhanger today but Alexis’s scene in prison didn’t deliver anything much imo. They also didn’t give us any new information about how Chase is doing ):
As for Nina: it seems to me she would be better off having let Michael know where his “father” (sic) is since she wants to be in his good graces where Wiley is concerned. It’s clear that “Mike” and Nina will fall in love – and in a hurry, since they aren’t going to drag this out for too long.
Oh no: I have the feeling Cyrus is going to become obsessed with Anna ): Haven’t we been down this road before???
O.K., off topic – they are going to erase old threads on here – does anyone know how we can go about saving at least the Goldies threads and honestly I would love to save as many of the daytime Emmys threads too??? I have no idea how to save them or archive them???April 19, 2021 at 9:18 am #1204209298
I have been worried about Chase since last Thursday!!! I really love Chase! Let him be o.k., lol! (;
I find that I want more of the male actors from Days to receive Emmy nominations and more of the actresses from GH to be on the final ballot. I would love to see Nancy Lee Grahn, Genie Francis, Maura West, Rebecca Herbst, Lisa LoCicero, Sydney Mikayla, Eden McCoy, perhaps Finola Hughes, Cynthia Watros, and Jane Elliot if she is eligible for Guest Performer to get nominations. For Actors I would like to see Roger Howarth, Michael Easton, Josh Swickard (all 3 have done better work in 2021 imo though), William Lipton, maybe Wes Ramsey, perhaps a Guest Performer nomination for Parry Shen? (I still don’t understand the criteria they use for the Guest Performer category), maybe a few others too. I do hope that Days and GH get the most nominations and less for the CBS shows for 2020, but we’ll have to wait and see… we don’t know who has submitted and in which category. I just wish the nominations would be revealed SOON!April 20, 2021 at 7:42 am #1204211129
I’m glad they’re giving Nina defensible reasons for not telling Sonny who he is or his family where he is. I can totally get on board with the idea that “Mike” seems happy and relatively safe where he is, and it may seem wrong to throw him back into the tumult and danger he was in before, especially since he doesn’t remember it. But you know Carly isn’t going to care about that. And while initially Nina was just punishing basically everyone who loves Sonny in order to punish Carly, I can also see her being annoyed at the prospect that to be a part of her own grandchild’s life she was to be obsequious to Carly and Michael AND pretend that Nelle never existed. I am concerned, though, by the degree to which Nina will become a Port Charles pariah once all this comes out.
This is more DAYS’s fault than GH’s, but I’m tired of people going to prison and then having to have stories in there. On DAYS it’s more a matter of not wanting to see the collection of terrible people that are in the prison having these stories, but with GH, it’s more that I don’t care about establishing a cast of characters there for Alexis to make friends with, be threatened by, etc., when there’s enough happening outside Pentonville that I’d rather see progressing. It’s also annoying because it just feeds into the whole Cyrus thing in the most annoying way.April 20, 2021 at 7:16 pm #1204212203
At least there was some progress during today’s show but I don’t enjoy Cam and Josslyn being on the outs – even though Josslyn is right about Jason’s innocence I find her defense of him and Sonny and Carly tiresome. I would like Ava to get a stronger storyline soon. I simply don’t enjoy Cyrus as a villain at all. I agree that all these new prison characters aren’t fun to have on the canvas – I wonder how they will get Alexis out of prison quicker than three years?? I miss Franco and particularly Franco and Liz. The show has so many different storylines going on at once that it can feel quite fragmented and disjointed…April 22, 2021 at 1:12 pm #1204215495
Today’s show was excellent! There was movement on several storylines. I wasn’t expecting Shawn to stab Jason and then the twist that it was at Carly’s behest as part of her plan was a good twist! Then Anna telling Finn about the poison and Finn’s unexpected strong outburst for her to back off was a nice twist too. Jax showing up to find Nina and will he see Sonny was another nice twist. I was expecting for Peter to overhear Maxie in the graveyard but instead it was mama bear Olivia! Chase is o.k. for now but is experiencing neuropathy problems – how exactly does this poison work? He seems o.k., not at the brink of death! I also thought that Jordan was going to arrest Carly for kidnapping Florence but that didn’t happen! This was a really jam-packed excellent episode!April 24, 2021 at 3:58 am #1204218739
I was expecting Jax to get shot but I was surprised that he saw Sonny briefly before he was carted away to the hospital. I wonder if Josslyn will wind up at the Nixon Falls hospital or where the hospital is?
One thing I have been noticing is the large number of storylines all going on at once. Sometimes the sheer volume of it all goes well – like on Thursday’s episode – but other times it can feel like too much and too much time between visits to a particular storyline. Almost every storyline is to some degree entertaining and has my interest, which is not true of Days or Y&R at the moment.
Also: kudos to the directing team for their superb direction of the show!
If I understood the technology I would try a “Dishin’ GH” type of online show modeled on the “Dishin’ Days” show that is live on Sundays. Technology and I are not friends!!! (;April 26, 2021 at 7:58 am #1204228825
I’ve been behind on GH, but am now caught up through Thursday’s episode, which was good. I did not expect Jax to show up in Nixon Falls! That was great. I assumed that Shawn was part of Carly’s plan, but I also didn’t expect him to shank Jason.
It seems like Michael and Chase are friends again, which would be nicer if it weren’t happening just because Michael feels smug in now being with Willow and/or because Chase is in the hospital with a mystery illness. I loved the Finn/Anna scenes, and I’m glad she finally told him that Chase was poisoned by Peter. The fact that Peter continues to give them nothing is outlandish. Anna and Valentin are no better off than they were when they had him tied up in the basement and he couldn’t bother anybody, so I’d say this is a bad deal. Also, can’t they eventually get him arrested for this poisoning? He’s been openly admitting to have done it, and considering that Chase’s initial thought was that he had food poisoning, it couldn’t possibly take even these guys very long to put together how and where the poisoning happened, and then talk to anyone who was working at the restaurant that night. They keep saying Peter’s going to get sloppy and mess up, but it seems like that’s already happening.
I don’t like Cam and Joss fighting, but Joss is acting a lot like Carly and it’s very annoying. Cam came over and didn’t want to talk about Jason, but Joss insisted. She started a fight because Cam still thinks Jason killed Franco, and then talked about it like Cam refuses to be her friend because she believes Jason, which is exactly the opposite of what happened. It’s not unreasonable for Cam to think Jason is guilty, especially considering that no adult who loved Franco (Liz, Scotty, etc.) has made any effort to convince him otherwise. I don’t want Cam to be convinced Jason is innocent based on Joss’s list of non-evidence.April 26, 2021 at 12:11 pm #1204229741
Once again I am giving kudos to the directing team of GH for their superb direction of episodes lately! There is a fluidity to the scenes with no “dead spots” even when I don’t like a particular storyline that makes the show a joy to watch.
I like that characters are being clued in to what Peter is up to – I sense a murder storyline where Peter is concerned and have a feeling that for once it won’t be a day player or a minor character who is the murderer (justifiable homicide, perhaps???). There would be a ton of suspects and all major characters too. I hope they don’t drag it out simply because they like Wes Ramsey so much (I do too but it’s time for Peter to go).
I have been admiring Josh Swickard’s work as Chase more and more – he has grown as an actor over the past 2-3 years he has been on the show (I think he joined in 2018?) – I have come to care deeply about his character.
I am looking forward to most of what is happening story-wise but I hope all this prison drama doesn’t drag on for too long…April 28, 2021 at 3:17 pm #1204233967
Another excellent episode!
I particularly am happy that Elizabeth is starting to figure some things out…
Nina is bringing such heartache to herself in becoming too attached to “Mike”.
The plot is thickening nicely between Brook Lynn and Maxie – Maxie is a fool to trust Brook Lynn though!
I am disappointed that we are clearly going to have to put up with smug and smarmy Peter for a while longer – the baby has to be born, the switch story, and meanwhile proving Peter killed Franco will hopefully be happening… I do think a murder of Peter will happen eventually though. When is Wes Ramsey’s contract up??? (;May 3, 2021 at 4:51 am #1204240364
I have been hearing rumors that Roger Howarth is returning to GH very soon – I have no idea if these rumors are true but I have been thinking about that Friday episode before Franco was killed and have a theory about it: if you recall Franco (if it was Franco) was watching a video on his phone that he had created when he thought he was Drew and went to court (when Elizabeth wanted to keep him in Port Charles if I am remembering correctly). When Franco went over to the courthouse and asked where he could find Jason he said “I’m still me!”. Next we saw him in the art studio. What if he was Drew??? I have the feeling we have been fooled!
The other rumor about his possible return is that he is coming back as Todd Manning and bringing Starr with him – I know for a fact that Kristen Alderson lives in Pennsylvania and is not returning to the role but I suppose they could recast the role. I doubt this is true.
This rumor could be totally false but I remember distinctly being very confused by that Friday episode and mentioning it on here.
I am looking forward to what happens next this week on GH!May 3, 2021 at 6:55 am #1204240418
Yes, some of the things you mentioned have I believe been officially confirmed or denied. It’s official that Roger Howarth is returning to the show, and I believe it’s sometime this month. The show has been quiet on who he’s playing, but I believe it’s been officially said that the show is not bringing in Todd. I think RH playing Franco is a possibility that’s still hanging in the air. I’m not sure I understand how things would work with what you’re saying, Freeman, in terms of Franco having actually been Drew. Are you saying that Drew was not dead from the plane crash and now looks like Franco? If it’s just a matter of Drew’s mind having been in control of Franco, I’m not seeing how that would help Franco not still be dead. I may be missing something there.
I’m not sure when Wes Ramsey’s contract is up, but it can’t come soon enough.May 3, 2021 at 10:21 am #1204240706
I am really not sure exactly what I mean! Just speculating on the possibilities! I guess I am wondering if Drew was made up to look like Franco and maybe it is Drew that was killed by Peter at the art studio? GH and Days both have really convoluted sci-fi plots so anything is possible with all those brain chips in so many people’s brains!!!! Perhaps there was a switch made at some point??? IDK… I really like Roger Howarth so I am glad he will be back on the show – hoping he is paired with Rebecca Herbst since they have amazing chemistry! We’ll have to wait and see!May 3, 2021 at 12:35 pm #1204241015
I was surprised by the ending of today’s episode – I thought Cam would get shot, not that he would shoot Jason!!!
So glad that Finn has told Elizabeth about Peter – and also about Chase. It’s about time!
Laura’s outburst was surprising and a nice twist to the scene. I simply cannot take Cyrus seriously, he just doesn’t come across as menacing at all – we are told it but at least for me I never feel it. He’s so meh as a character.
One thought I have about Sonny’s return to Port Charles – if he were to go back and not remember Carly and all of the rest of them and be in love with Nina that would be at least something different and interesting.
I miss Epiphany! I wonder why she is on so infrequently? There are so many wonderful cast members who are hardly ever on this show ):May 4, 2021 at 7:24 am #1204242089
Haha, thank you for clarifying, Freeman! The Drew/Franco theory is a fun one, and I’m sure that like most soaps plots, I’m probably overthinking the logistics of it. I’m certainly interested to find out who Roger Howarth will be playing. I believe the show said they needed a character who doesn’t have the kinds of things that are in Franco’s past attached to him, so RH could be a more viable romantic lead for more people on the canvas, which is probably why they said it also wouldn’t be Todd. Maybe he’ll be a new character. I did not think it would work at all when the show brought Michael Easton back as yet another character (and for the third time a doctor) after Silas’s murder, but Finn has turned out to be a success.
Yesterday’s episode was pretty thrilling. I enjoyed watching Carly’s plan go down and seeing it go awry. One thing I think we see is it might have helped Carly to be more transparent with her co-conspirators. Then maybe Britt wouldn’t have thought that a guy working for Cyrus was working for Carly and Ava and Laura might have thought to not only keep Cyrus at Wyndemere and but also engage him enough that he wouldn’t be taking phone calls from his guys. I love Jason and Britt ended up together in the getaway car. I was also very surprised that Cam just shot Jason. I thought the scene would play out differently, with a confrontation, Cam holding the gun on Jason and not pulling the trigger, maybe Cam or Britt getting shot in the confusion, Cam possibly having to go with them. It was a great ending. I can’t wait to see what happens today!
I also miss seeing Epiphany, and I’m surprised she wasn’t part of Carly’s plan. Maybe Sonya Eddy is busy with other things.
I’ve also enjoyed the turn of things in Nixon Falls with Jax seeing Sonny after being shot and then the close call with Trina. Nina acting like a spaz is fun. It was so funny to me for some reason when Phyllis first mentioned Mike to Jax, and Nina very tersely described him as, “a local man.” It’s good they’re expanding the possibilities of people finding out or getting clues that Sonny’s alive, with Jax having seen him and Trina now having a jar of his sauce and offering some to Josslyn, who might recognize it. That said, I’m so much happier with Sonny living as Mike in Nixon Falls rather than being himself in Port Charles. I hope that if he does get discovered and return there, he doesn’t regain his memories for a long time. Carly and Jason dealing with his absence gives interesting story to both of them, and Carly and Sonny together are completely insufferable.
Also, LOL that Michael’s offer to meet with the Five Families wasn’t even considered or taken seriously in any way.
