Because I watch the show on Hulu, I never see the teaser for the next episode. But I did notice the longer credits, which I thought were just because it was the end of the year. I’ve noticed a lot of shows (maybe this is just the ABC daytime shows) will do extended credits in their final episode of the year.
I agree that GH is really exciting right now. I’m so curious to see what Nina does at this wedding. I’m also curious to see what happens now that Valentin has apparently thrown Ava over the ledge at Windemere. I mean, Ava is particularly good at surviving falls of this sort, but hopefully she’ll just land on lower level unharmed, and Valentin’s murderous actions will be the final straw that makes Nina decide to actually go through with the plan.
A Sonny/Carly breakup in 2020 would be great. I really can’t stand Sonny most of the time. His reaction to this situation with Nikolas and Jax is so irritating. How can he be mad that Carly didn’t trust him with this information when literally the first thing he said was that Jax was committing a crime and so he could get him deported. This from a literal crime boss. It’s really despicable.
At first I was thinking Shiloh would turn up alive, and maybe he will, but now I think this will all revolve around Nelle and her association with Shiloh. They definitely dropped some clues a while back that Nelle could be coming into an inheritance of some sort, and I would guess that at this memorial to Shiloh, we learn that she was released from prison (it’s kind of hilarious that now GH and DAYS are both using overcrowding as an excuse to release people from prison) and that either through marrying him or something to do with his will, she’s inherited all of his assets, most notably the disputed shares of ELQ. They’ve spent time establishing or reestablishing Nelle’s dynamics with Michael, Brad, Harmony, Sam, Chase, and Willow, so it seems like a good time for her to be back and making all their lives miserable with her ELQ shares and her connection to Wiley.January 3, 2020 at 12:06 pm #1203258260
That was a GREAT cliffhanger! (: (: (: I was yelling at the screen “No, Nina! Don’t marry him!”… and then the door burst open and Nikolas and Ava were suddenly there and everyone reacting!!!!! (: Bravo, GH, Bravo! (:
Looks like Nina will tell the truth next week too! (:
Love the quad of Michael, Sasha, Chase and Willow.
So Jason and Sam have to stay away from each other for two years – wish they really would! (; (So nice to see Diane today, with Sam and Jason and also with Brook Lynn and Ned).
Happy for Laura – she has her son back! Could someone refresh my memory: Nikolas is a fugitive and is facing charges for something? I don’t remember what it was all about?
Ava better press charges against Valentin for attempted murder!
Excellent episode and now I am really looking forward to next week’s episodes!January 3, 2020 at 1:22 pm #1203258363
Nikolas faked his death and tried to have it blamed on Hayden so he could get control of her illegal diamonds? Then Jason who turned out to be Drew got blamed instead?January 6, 2020 at 2:52 pm #1203266801
Genie Francis and Cynthia Watros delivered terrific performances today! Laura was fierce with Nikolas, giving him the what for he deserves! Nina struggles with her addiction to Valentin and trying to do the right thing.
I found Valentin’s scenes today to be symptomatic of a problem on daytime that has been going on for years: I as an audience member want a real and full comeuppance, not a mere slap on the wrist and then everything is o.k. I want Valentin to lose and I am completely fed up with him, want him off the show entirely. But they protect the male villain characters and dump on the female ones. Why wasn’t Valentin arrested? I did not like Jordan’s behavior at all!
I wonder if we will get a Spencer visit soon???January 6, 2020 at 3:56 pm #1203266882
Genie Francis delivered a master class and was just magnificent in ways few can ever hope to be.
Also I LOVE the twist with Ava at the end!January 6, 2020 at 4:10 pm #1203266901
GH really has started the year with a bag! I’ve only just watched Friday’s episode last night and can’t wait to see today’s episode when I get home. What a thrilling and suspenseful ending.
The show is also doing some interesting things in terms of maybe openly acknowledging that Sonny is awful? Diane telling Jason and Sam that she hates the way Sonny’s actions over the years have harmed his children was great. Between that and the Sonny/Carly scenes with Sonny being such a blatant hypocrite about Jax, maybe we’re getting closer to Sonny being more regarded as a bad guy rather than the saintly mobster who is terrorized by every wicked new DA who comes to town.
I like seeing Chase, Willow, Michael, and Sasha all being pals, but the one dynamic in there that falls flat to me is Willow and Sasha as pals. I’m not sure if it’s just a lack of chemistry between the two, or possibly just that in my mind it feels like a missed opportunity to have Sasha be so uncomplicatedly warm to Willow considering the dynamic between Willow and Michael (Michael/Chase > Michael/Willow > Michael/Sasha). Sasha is much stronger with characters like Nina, Maxie, and Liesl, but we’re not seeing much of that these days. I think a Maxie/Sasha friendship developing would be good for both characters.January 7, 2020 at 9:39 am #1203268559
I bet they will try to talk Nikolas out of marrying Ava but she is probably blackmailing him with the codicil! Ava has never been married so this will be her first! I actually love the pairing of Ava and Nikolas and hope this actually happens!January 7, 2020 at 9:42 am #1203268569
After watching yesterday’s episode, I’ll add that yes, Genie Francis was fantastic in her scenes with Nikolas. The writers really could have given Nikolas something more to work with if they expected us to be sympathetic to him spending three years pretending to be dead and just lying in wait, but Laura letting him have it for what he’s done was perfect. Ava was also great yesterday in her brief contributions, basically shouting amens as Nikolas revealed that Valentin tried to kill him and is being disinherited and then of course the reveal at the end.
The Nina/Valentin scenes weren’t terribly satisfying, I think largely because, yeah, Valentin deserves more of a comeuppance. Centering so much of this confrontation around Nina made that tough because what he did to her is so much less bad than much of what he needs to be called out for. He shouldn’t have lied about Sasha, and we’re I guess now just pretending it acted purely out of love for Nina and not because he wanted to use finding her daughter as a way to get her back. But Valentin, at the very least, tried to kill both Nikolas and Ava, and Jordan reacted like someone had accused him of jaywalking.January 7, 2020 at 12:27 pm #1203269137
Ava and Nikolas are married! (:
Why do I have a feeling that Nikolas will be joining Valentin in jail? I just wish Valentin would go away and stay away! I really do not enjoy him at all.
Genie and Maura rocked their scene today! I really hope their friendship continues – now Laura is Ava’s mother-in-law! (;January 8, 2020 at 8:28 am #1203270518
I’m impressed with the stamina of these Port Chuckers. So many people just out for a 1 AM stroll or skate in the park!
Anna’s inaction concerning Peter is becoming increasingly disappointing. I don’t want to be insensitive to the fact that he’s (kind of?) her son, but given what she suspects he’s done, she should be taking some kind of action. Maybe not trying to turn him in or arrest him based on the light evidence she has, but maybe either confront him or set up some sort of test for him to pass or fail? “Mac mentioned that the police were able to recover a burner phone from the hospital trash with fingerprints that matched the gunman’s. The police are holding the phone in [insert accessible location here] until they can recover a list of numbers from it.”
Laura’s scenes with Nikolas and with Ava were great. Genie Francis rocked it again. Marcus Coloma also did a good job in the scenes with Laura, Lulu and Ava. I wouldn’t really want him arrested for faking his death, etc., but if that’s the price for getting Valentin behind bars, I’ll pay it. I hope we get to see Spencer find out that his father is alive soon.January 8, 2020 at 10:26 am #1203270792
I appreciated Nina’s line about needing a to hit up a liquor store for scotch at that time. I was like DAMN just use the mini bar!January 13, 2020 at 9:14 am #1203281228
Last week’s episodes up through all of the New Year’s Eve stuff were really great. I’m also really liking all of the scenes between Maxie and Nina. They have an interesting relationship, and it’s been somewhat backburnered since everything ramped up with Nikolas, Valentin, and Ava. Also, I love love love the dress Maxie’s been wearing.
What I don’t love is whatever story they’re drumming up now for Sonny and a potential turf war on the horizon. I also couldn’t care less about Jordan’s friend who died, though clearly it’s a thing somehow. The show needs to wrap up some of the storylines that have been going before starting up even more new ones. Let everyone find out what Peter’s done, clear Sam’s name, let Sonny make a decision about Mike’s care rather than arguing with Carly about it every other day, that sort of thing. There’s not really space for new stories to be developed, or for stories that have been brewing for a while to come to the fore (like Wiley’s true parentage).January 13, 2020 at 7:03 pm #1203282903
When are the writers going to undo the ridiculous Anna/Peter story? It’s like they know the fans hate it and they just keep it sort of lingering! Give him some other familial connection, far away from Anna and Alex!January 14, 2020 at 8:33 am #1203283651
Just when I was wondering where the recurring boyfriends Neil and Dustin have been, both show back up in the same episode. I love that Dustin and Brook Lynn have a connection. I also cracked up at Brook Lynn telling Lulu, “There are peanut shells on the floor. Practice better self care.” I think maybe the only time I enjoy seeing Lulu is when she’s fighting with Brook Lynn.
The show is dragging out a lot of stories, like they want to keep as many of them going at once as possible. Sam has already been convicted of manslaughter or whatever for killing Shiloh, served some of her sentence, gotten parole, and developed a contentious relationship with her parole officer, and now there’s a memorial for Shiloh. Move it along, guys.
Also, Andre seems remarkably chill about the fact that there have been two attempts on his life in the past few months. I feel like if I were him I’d be a little more in Anna’s face about finding out who is behind these. If she had to look Andre in the eye on a regular basis, it would probably be harder for her to ignore what a sketchball Peter is.January 14, 2020 at 9:04 am #1203283733
Unfortunately I have read that Parry Shen is leaving the show ): I am really unhappy about it. I long for James Patrick Stuart to leave – I simply can’t stand the sight of him anymore, but instead it’s half of my favorite couple on the show that is leaving ):
Are they finally going to get around to the memorial for Shiloh? They brought it up a few weeks ago and then we never heard about it again. I still think Shiloh will be alive; only Quartermaines (Alan and A.J.) remain dead on this show ):
I agree that certain stories are being dragged out too long. Still, I almost always enjoy most of the show each day lately, with some episodes really quite good! (:
