Frank up top!August 30, 2021 at 12:39 pm #1204425137
Drats! Liesl’s plane has gone down! (: So tiresome! ): GH needs to do a really great murder mystery and make no mistakes about it Peter must be truly 100% dead this time! I am so sick of the very sight of him!
The other day I got my hopes up that they would put Maxie and Chase in each other’s orbit – they are the couple I most want to see on the show in the future. I have no interest in Maxie and Austin – I have run out of patience with Austin, he’s just not an interesting character. I miss Roger’s Franco and Roger’s Todd (sigh).
Must admit Gladys is a fun character, annoying, yes, but fun nevertheless! I always kind of forget that Brando and Sasha are still on this show (;September 1, 2021 at 4:39 am #1204428115
I am guessing that Charles Shaunnessy will be playing Victor Cassadine.
Surprised to see Jeff Kober’s Cyrus so soon ):
Not happy with Liesl’s abduction from the plane ):
Hoping for a better episode today.September 3, 2021 at 4:39 am #1204432762
Charles Shaunnessy made his debut as Victor Cassadine. The dialogue yesterday reminded me of that storyline from 5-6 years ago when Victor supposedly was killed – here we go again with yet another “back from the dead” villain but we never got Alan Q back, nor A.J. Q either.
I am annoyed that the show once again is centered on mob stories, and more than one of them ): These are not the stories I care about, nor the characters I care about.
So Jax has remembered – he will go to Nixon Falls but will he decide to keep Nina’s secret? I doubt it as the wedding is supposed to happen on Sept. 17th, which is 10 episodes away (no new episode next Monday) and I assume that is when the Sonny is alive reveal will likely happen. Not looking forward to it but all good things have to come to an end I suppose.
I love Wyatt! I wish he was connected to someone on the canvas and they would keep him on the show. Austin would be an interesting choice, since he needs to be connected to someone at this point. I am bored with Austin, it’s a huge fail for me at least so far.
I miss Jason and Britt. It’s the first time in a very long time I have been able to tolerate Jason.September 5, 2021 at 2:20 pm #1204439430
Wyatt’s cute. He should be friends with Jake or Aiden (hard for me to tell how old any of these kids are). Also, it looked like the show recast Aiden? Again, with how quickly these kids grow, it’s hard to tell, but I really liked the previous Aiden.
GH is generally a smartly written show, but the show seems to have a ton of contempt for its audience at this point. In the past few weeks, we’ve endured the Chase/Willow/Michael reveal, where Michael and Willow were totally let off the hook and treated like they’ve done nothing wrong, and had both Cyrus and Peter shoved back in our faces. Why? The powers that be at the show must know that the audience HATES Peter, was thrilled to be rid of Cyrus, and is almost ready to take up pitchforks and run Willow out of town over this Michael business. I have to say it was also awkward watching the Jax/Alexis scenes the other day, given everything happening behind the scenes and knowing how they feel about working with one another. I’m also pretty tired of all this stuff with the Five Families, but I don’t think that’s an audience-wide feeling necessarily. I thought the idea of Jason and Carly navigating things without Sonny would be interesting, and in some ways it has been, but this feels like a lot of undue melodrama and things being dragged out.
On the other hand, I do like that Jax has realized that he did indeed see Sonny in Nixon Falls, and I’m eager to see what he does. It doesn’t seem like Jax is mob-savvy enough to know that Sonny’s absence is basically what’s ramped up the danger to Joss, but maybe he’ll figure that. It was cool to see the jar of sauce that Trina got there months ago finally paying off. Poor Nina seems on the verge of losing it. At this point, what she’s doing to Mike is emotional torture.
While I understand that Victor concocted this elaborate scheme to kidnap Liesl, and totally buy that Scotty would fall for a targeted ad for a discount private jet rental, I have a lot of trouble believing that Liesl would make plans to attend a medical conference that doesn’t exist. I wonder what will happen with Peter when he gets to St. Lucia and realizes there’s nothing there, or maybe he’ll be poking around long enough for the Nixon Falls situation to blow up without his intervention. I also wonder if Nina will somehow get wind that Liesl is missing and alert someone else (or maybe just realize that it’s a good idea to have a backup) about Peter being alive.
Olivia hiring Brando as the stripper at Carly’s surprise bachelorette party (where guests include her mother, her daughter, her son’s ex-girlfriend, her son’s ex-wife and current girlfriend, and her business partner who is the closest thing she has to a female friend) was so so funny. It’s impressive that they said the wedding is “tomorrow” on Friday’s episode but have said it’s September 17, two weeks away from that in real time. I hope that means the next 24 hours will be eventful. The scenes with Spencer, Esme and Trina were good also. I really can’t get enough of Trina and Spencer, and I like Esme a lot so far. The Ryan thing could be interesting, but I also wonder if that’s just the show trying to keep Ryan relevant and throwing this new character into his orbit to lay the groundwork for some potential future story that’s not currently planned.September 8, 2021 at 12:37 pm #1204444727
Lots of suspense today: Jax meets Mike, Portia and an injured Jordan are locked in a cellar that has a gas leak, Carly is at some ELQ site, there is absolute confirmation (finally) that Spencer is indeed the stalker, Esme is horrible, and the wedding is supposed to happen on Friday!
Cynthia Watros is doing such a great job with Nina.September 8, 2021 at 11:00 pm #1204445649
Very good episode
I jumped out of my seat when Jax saw “Mike”
The homage to Raiders of the Lost Ark was awesomeSeptember 9, 2021 at 8:26 am #1204446347
The wedding isn’t until next week – Sept. 17th. Jumping the gun so to speak! I wonder if Jax will object at the wedding?
Cynthia Watros has done an amazing job of making us care about Nina despite her absurd crazy scheme, which makes her at the very least unkind – as much as I dislike Sonny he has a wife and children who would want to know that he was alive. I am hoping they keep him Mike for a while longer and don’t have him get his memories back right away (preferably never but only Jason has never gotten his memories back).
Not thrilled that the mob stories are starting to take up more and more of the oxygen on the show’s canvas ):
I truly don’t know exactly what is going to happen with Portia, Jordan and Curtis as far the gas leak and Jordan being knocked out down there in the basement. It’s rare not to pretty much know what is going to happen.
Does Spencer have no conscience? He is hurting more than Ava and Nikolas – he is inadvertently keeping Avery away from his mother. He is a selfish brat. It is fun though to see how this all unfolds. I wish Ava and Nikolas were working together instead of at odds with one another.
They do need to get back to Peter and what he will do once he realizes there is no lead in St. Lucia – that is a pretty vague lead though, not very specific as to exactly WHERE he is supposed to find Louise.
The show isn’t as great as it was earlier in the year but for me it is still the best of the four shows by far!September 10, 2021 at 7:34 pm #1204450051
I wonder if something bad is going to happen to Nina to prevent her from telling “Mike” the truth? Peter showing up at the very end of the episode makes me think so. Jax, as usual, is the voice of reason and is correct in what he has to say (just like with Carly). These scenes have been quite good.
I don’t think there is supposed to be chemistry between Jason and Carly.
Gladys continues to be a really fun character.
Does anyone know why Tequan Richmond left GH a few years ago?September 10, 2021 at 8:19 pm #1204450111

I think Tequan left because he got another show if I’m not mistaken
I always thought Steve Burton and Sarah Brown had sexual chemistry, he has none whatsoever with Laura WrightSeptember 11, 2021 at 5:55 pm #1204452285
Oddly, I find myself very invested in Carly and Jason’s friendship, even though I despise Carly, thanks in large part to Steve Burton’s acting during the numerous scenes we’ve gotten explaining, examining and recounting the beats of their friendship. That said, I feel overloaded on scenes of Carly feeling hesitant and conflicted about this marriage and the exploration of what it means for their relationship. When’s the last time an actual bride in a non-sham wedding got this much attention? I also agree that SB and Laura Wright do not have romantic/sexual chemistry, but I guess the show figured they have nothing to lose, since LW doesn’t have chemistry with Maurice Benard either.
Ultimately if I’m choosing between Jax and Nina, of course Jax is right that Nina lying to Sonny and to his family isn’t the right thing to do. However, I don’t feel like Jax is being particularly reasonable, so much as just pushing his agenda, which is understandable considering that Sonny’s absence is creating a more dangerous situation for Joss. Jax refusing to acknowledge anything Nina was saying was a little frustrating, especially since his conclusion that Port Charles needs Sonny (and more specifically that Joss is less vulnerable with Sonny there) is predicated largely on Carly’s decision to double down on the mob stuff rather than make any effort to extricate herself from it. It also helps Nina that while she’s not telling Sonny the truth about who he is, she’s not actively withholding his memories from him in the way that some characters on this show have done to others in the past. In any event, I’m excited the plot is moving forward and eager to see what happens with the wedding. I agree that Cynthia Watros has been excellent in this story, and has done a fantastic job of making her Nina really stand out versus Michelle Stafford’s Nina, who at this point seems like a totally different character.
I love that Spencer and Esme keep having to remind one another that the hurtful accusations people have made against them are basically true. Spencer has been terrible, but the show has already angled toward Spencer considering confessing and Esme pressing him not to with various manipulations. I’m sure Spencer is telling himself that Ava could be with her daughter if she’d just do the right thing and divorce his father. It’s not a great excuse, but it’s something. Ava is also a character who the audience generally forgives for her bad behavior because we love Maura West, but what she did to Spencer was fairly awful.
