Leslie Charleson gave a lovely performance on today’s episode.

Today’s episode was fine but tomorrow’s looks more interesting… glad to see Maura as Ava in the preview!

    Great Casting News!
Kristina Wagner (Felicia) has posted to her Twitter Feed that she is returning to GH. In her tweet, Wagner wrote:

Tomorrow I head back to work on General Hospital! Lucky me. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of that family once again. Here we go. More to come. Felicia Scorpio rides again. @GeneralHospital #GH

Kristina Wagner returning would indicate by New Year’s there might be real progress in Maxie’s baby drama!!!

Here’s hoping! I’ll be very glad to see Felicia back on screen. I’ve really missed having her around with everything Maxie has been going through. I’ve seen reports that Genie Francis will be back by Christmas as well.

I mostly really enjoyed yesterday’s episode with different people dealing with the fallout of Jason not returning from Greece. The stuff with Monica was the highlight. Leslie Charleson did a great job in those scenes. You could kind of feel that Monica always expected something like this to happened to Jason (as Sam says explicitly to Dante), and there was a vibe of gratitude that it happened when he was saving Drew (and Britt and Obrecht) rather than in a mob skirmish. I do feel like it would have been helpful to the progress of the story if the show had given us something a little more concrete than just “the last place I saw Jason was buried under tons of rubble” and there was no heartbeat detected. If people are meant to just accept that Jason is dead and move on, and no one is even going to suggest that maybe Victor somehow spirited Jason away to another facility for more brainwashing, they could at least make the idea that Jason just crawled or was dragged out of the tunnel seem less plausible. Not a full corpse or anything, but Jason’s blood and pulverized human remains in a black t-shirt?

I like that Ned’s wheels appear to already be turning regarding the validity of Valentin’s claims considering that Drew is alive and so that changes the division of shares of ELQ. (I don’t remember if this means that the shares to Edward’s grandchildren are redivided or that Scout had some shares that came from Drew that now revert to him or what.)

Also, I have to say, I’m ready for Austin to go. The other day, when Olivia apologized to him and tried to invite him to Thanksgiving, the episode ended with him seemingly hatching a plan for revenge. The show can’t seem to decide whether Austin is naughty or nice, and he’s just taking up space. Then they threw him into scenes with Britt yesterday to very poor effect. He also keeps whining about the Quartermaines and talking about them like they’re all a single person, and like Brook Lynn, Ned, Olivia, Monica, Michael and Jason weren’t individuals with their own individual interests and personalities. At this point, the character needs a more definite personality that doesn’t just seem like a weird version of Franco and to be moved into something different and unexpected. Nothing about his squabbles with the Quartermaines is working, and I don’t need to see him in any further scenes with Britt either outside of hospital business.

I really like Roger Howarth but I agree that his new role as Austin just isn’t working ): One mistake they have made is not to have him connected with anyone – that scout who found Scotty could be Austin’s son and that would have been a great help, or get him into a romance right away – but not Maxie, she belongs with Chase for me. They could have him doing medical heroics. It’s just not working and I feel bad for the actor, because I loved his work as Todd, Paul and Franco.

Britt showing up at the bridge where Carly is at is going to mean that Carly will snarl at her some more – or maybe they will go in another direction and have them grieve Jason together rather than have self-righteous Carly screaming at her that’s it all her fault that her precious Jason is gone – blah blah BLECH!

It feels like forever since we last saw Genie Francis as Laura. I really miss her, glad to hear she is returning soon!

What is Willow’s purpose on this show going forward? I feel that she is expendable as a character.

Wow! Carly APOLOGIZED to Britt!!!!! And they had a fairly civil conversation! Wonders never cease!

Monica and Drew had a nice conversation too.

Alexis’s thanksgiving dinner had a really interesting guest list and two surprise visits. It’s been about a year since Julian was killed off. Nice to see Spencer again, it’s been awhile since he has been (and Esme too).

    Dante and Sam had sex. It must be time for Lulu to come out of her coma! (;

    A nice episode today.

It looked like it took truly all of Carly’s strength to be nice to brief and allow her to share in the grieving for Jason, but good for her.

The Ned/Olivia scenes were also good yesterday, with Olivia ultimately explaining that it’s not like she has a problem with Ned doing what needs to be done to try to outmaneuver Valentin, but she was more concerned with the other factors surrounding those decisions.

Poor Chase! I figured that punching Valentin might cause a problem for him, though I feel like usually with situations like this, all the witnesses will claim to have seen nothing and the assailant would get off with just a warning.

I wish I liked Dante and Sam more as a couple (maybe it’s also that I don’t really love either character individually?), but their scenes over the last few days have been nicely written and well acted.

The impromptu Cassadine family gathering at Natasha’s Alexis’s house was great. I loved everyone’s reaction to the news that Victor is Valentin’s father, and I also loved Spencer freaking out when Valentin showed up and then when Nikolas and Ava showed up. Fun stuff. I hope they embroil most of these characters in some family drama going forward. Alexis has no story and this is more fun than what Nikolas has been doing since Spencer was uncovered as the stalker. I’d also like to see Esme trying to maneuver within this pit of vipers.

I was wondering how they were going to spend some of that money Burton and Ingo freed up. They chose VERY wisely 🙂 .

Color me shocked that Kristina Wagner is back on contract! I’m excited to see what’s in store for Felicia. Maybe she’ll rebuild the Floating Rib. And I’m always excited to see Helena show up.

I felt so bad for Valentin saying goodbye to Bailey on Friday’s episode. Those were good scenes.

To my surprise, I liked the Carly/Britt scenes as well. If the show can believably pivot Carly into a character that actually has friends besides Jason, I would be fine with that. Post-Nixon Falls Sonny has been much more likeable, so a similar turn for Carly could make the show’s insistent focus on these two a lot more tolerable.

Willow keeps on showing up at the wrong time! She has learned that Sonny and Nina had an involvement in Nixon Falls – I don’t think she has heard that they BOTH fell in love with each other though.

I have been hearing rumors that several castmembers are going to be leaving the show fairly soon – can Wes Ramsey please be one of them????

Great to see Laura again! We need her back in Port Charles!!!!

It was great seeing Laura (and Martin), and things are clearly heating up there with this shady woman pretending to be a housecleaner.

I loved all of the stuff with Nina, Sonny and Carly. Britt is starting to seem like a stand-in for Jason, helping Carly calm down and be less of a banshee than is her natural tendency and now being buddies with Sonny as well. Willow overhearing the conversation between Nina and Sonny was thrilling. I think she’s heard enough to know that the two of them were in a romantic relationship, but what will she do about it? It’s impressive now much ground Michael and Willow covered in just one episode back.

I’ve heard the same rumor about more cast members potentially being out. I keep thinking that Peter can’t stick around much longer, but here he still is in December, annoying everyone to no end.
