How did the big reveal become all about Carly’s self-righteousness?

I am really hating the Sonny and Jason scenes ): Just the worst! ):

That fight scene between Willow and Nelle was all kinds of scary!

I wasn’t looking forward to the baby reveal because the show always finds a way to include those human dirtbags Sonny and Carly in the story. Carly has no damn right to be self-righteous after what she and Sonny did to AJ and someone needs to remind her smug ass about that.

Yeah, I thought however the baby switch reveal happened would be exciting and make for great scenes, but apparently I was wrong. Making Carly the facilitator of the reveal, with all her hypocritical BS, was a truly awful decision. I kind of can’t believe they even wrote it the way they did. Such a fizzle. Lucas remembered essentially all at once, told Michael that he was Wiley’s father, and then they both stood silent for most of the episode while Carly does her best Diane impersonation on Brad. Poor Ryan Carnes. Lucas is a fairly dull character, and when he finally should have something exciting to do, they hand it over to Carly.

I did enjoy the brutal fight between Willow and Janelle, and also the Cam and Trina scenes. Maybe it was dense of me not to even consider, but I was SHOCKED that Taggert is Trina’s dad.

Sonny is just terrible. Can someone please shoot him and/or Carly during this mob war? Bad things sometimes happen to the people close to them, and they feel virtuous somehow for enduring the suffering without anything ever really happening to them.

Why is GH making such awful decisions? So Nelle gets caught at Willow’s place – totally anti-climactic! The only interesting thing was that Brad covered for Julian – good grief! ):

Sonny and Jason are truly excruciating to watch ):

I’ve been feeling disappointed lately, but not as much as with Y&R where I can’t even get through 15 minutes of it without feeling totally bored out of my mind!

    Yeah please kill Sonny. Please.

Looks like we got some dynamite Chase & Willow scenes coming up though.

I was glad that the dynamic duo intercepted Janelle before she could get anywhere with Wiley. I guess trying to track her down would have been exciting, but I’ve kind of had my fill of her antics for now. Also glad Brad covered for Julian (and Obrecht), and actually managed to do it without lying by using clever phrasing, though that will hardly matter when everyone finds out.

I am unhappy with the way Brad has been thrown under the bus. I really like him and always have and his reasons – while wrong – were human.

I would love it if they would pair Lucas with Brando but I suspect Brando will be paired with Carly – which is fine since it will at least get her away from Sonny!

She’s been great, and there are some really strong scenes for her in these last couple of episodes. And while I think some of the writing around this has been hit or miss, the writing for Willow specifically has been great.

I still keep thinking about the reveal and feeling like it fell kind of flat for me. I know a large part of it was just Carly being so central to that episode, but I also think a little more suspense would have been helpful. It would have been good if Janelle had actually gotten away with Wiley before Lucas told Michael that he’s Wiley’s father, and then there was a manhunt, Chase and Michael catch Janelle and she reveals to him that Wiley is their baby, which by then everyone else would have already known from Lucas revealing the truth. That would have allowed both Michael and Lucas to have some juicier and more thorough reactions to what happened — Michael should have had space to process that his son didn’t die and is actually this child he already loves before emotionally jumping into the logistics of how that happened and being mad at Brad. Overall I feel like the reveal needed more room to breathe than it was given.

Okay, not to defend Janelle, because I would absolutely love for her to just be in jail forever or on the run forever and never coming back to this show, but Michael’s family is acting like she had Wiley locked in a lab somewhere and they never saw him before. Wiley was already Carly and Sonny’s nephew and Joss’s cousin. Did they have no interest in forming a relationship with him before? Only Michael’s child is worth getting to know better?

I’m also dying at the way people are acting about Brad. Yes, he did some bad stuff and committed some crimes, but come the hell on. This charge is being led by Carly and Sam, so give me a GD break. Brad is literally family, and they seem ready to string him up. I wouldn’t expect forgiveness or even civility, but the least they could do is not get in Julian’s face for trying to get poor Brad a lawyer. Sam went from smacktalking Brad directly to talking about wanting to blackmail the woman who is charged with making sure she follows the terms of her parole that’s a result of the sentence she received for the man she killed. She just can’t stand to be away from her murderous mobster baby daddy. These people.

Good news! Looks like we are getting new doc in the form of soap vet Brook Kerr (ex Whitney, Passions)! Now if Joss and co. could have their prom on that boat and it lasts six weeks…

Really? Are we really up in arms about poor Brad? The Kidnapping, lying, whiny little mani-pulator?

Yes the hypocrisy from Carly is rich. But brad deserves what he gets. Also, the writers really did a disservice by having Carly lead the rage. There could have been amazing anger scenes from Lucas or Bobbie.

That’s exactly my point. If Lucas and Bobbie were the ones saying let Brad rot in jail and don’t get Brad a lawyer, I’d be fine with it. It drives me crazy that Carly and Sam are so adamant about Brad suffering the consequences of breaking the law, but that kind of thing doesn’t apply to them, Sonny, Jason, etc. Though I do feel for Brad. If I’d been watching the show when the babies were actually switched, and had watched Michael grieve for the son he thought died, I would likely be much less sympathetic to Brad, but I only tuned back in a year ago, when the story was already underway.

Very excited for Brook Kerr joining the show! LOL, they might actually have their prom on the Haunted Star.

I love how all you have to say is Passions Boat Prom and soap fans from a certain era salivate in a Pavlovian way…
