I can’t tell if my problem with the new Cameron is the writing or the actor. It could be both. Also this has got to be the least rapid case of SORAS ever since the character is 14 chronologically. Is he like supposed to be a senior or something?

GH has shown that they are trying to make changes and I think the show is in a slight uptick.

There are several storylines that tie the action to the hospital staff, which is a big, big plus. Kim’s son has cancer; Finn is treating his father; Lucas and Brad are immersed in a baby-switch story; Griffin and Kiki are developing a relationship; Kevin is being impersonated by his twin brother.

To be honest, there are some difficulties in terms of the way the stories are unfolding. For example, Oscar is being too bratty, though I imagine that will eventually subside, and Finn’s story is boring and seems at this point to be lacking a purpose. On the other hand, the saga of Kevin and Ryan is quite entertaining, and the Lucas/Brad story is interesting although not airing frequently.

As for stories beyond the hospital, Nina’s story is still boring and the character of Margaux has become increasingly intolerable. Steve Burton deserves much better than to play an aging henchman still wearing the same black t-shirt from 20 years ago. He is a good actor and deserves challenging material. This would be the perfect time for him to regain his Quartermaine memories and move into stories that are more complex and sophisticated.

GH has improved, but there is still much they can do to move the show forward.

I tried to watch yesterday but Sonny and Jason having the exact same conversation they have been having for 20 years bored me to turning the show off! I am liking the Kevin/Ryan story (esp. now that Genie Francis’s Laura is back), Oliver’s story, and Lucas/Brad’s story, and esp. Maxie/Peter, but very little else is holding my interest. I find Nina a total waste of time and effort, can’t stand Kiki with Griffin, Finn’s story has no meaning for me, Margaux adds nothing to the show. I haven’t liked Jason for decades (loved him when he was with Robin way back when). I am also probably the only person who doesn’t care for Max Gail’s Mike.

It feels like the show is doing that thing it always does where it just treads water on major storylines until sweeps, then it goes fast and furious for a couple weeks, then it gets boring again.  The Nina storyline is a dud so far, Curtis and Jordan aren’t that romantic (especially when Stella and Jordan are feuding which is the same argument EVERY TIME), and they’ve made Lulu the dumbest character in daytime. And she’s a Spencer so they’ve rotted the core of that character to do that. And are Liz and Franco ever getting married? Will anyone care?

Today’s GH was a perfect example of why GH is coming along, but isn’t quite there yet.

The scenes with Laura, Ryan, Lulu, Charlotte, and Kevin were great. The scenes outside the courtroom with Michael, Carly, Nell, Chase, and Brad were also intriguing.

Conversely, the scenes with Drew and Franco were boring. I had to fast forward the scenes with Jason and his boss. Even the Sam and Elizabeth had a drowsy quality to them.

I am so enjoying Genie Francis back in the role of Laura! She has been great and I enjoy her tough love and wisdom. Having Spencer back adds to my enjoyment. Yesterday’s episode mostly avoided all the characters I can’t stand so the show was so much better.

I’ve mostly liked it this week. It’s a nice touch the idea that Spencer can use this time to bond with Mike (seriously Spencer, that would have been the right excuse to use with Laura) and good God he makes an amazing scene partner with Maura West!

I liked the scene work earlier this week with Steve Burton and Leslie Charleson.  It’s good they’ve had some quality stuff for the vets in the recurring cast to do since some of these new people are just BORING. I’m so tired of Kiki and Griffin. He just gives the scenes nothing. Such a stiff actor! And as I said many times above, the Lulu character is just baffling. I read on another board that trying to figure out her character motivations is like trying to smell the color 9. I think that’s pretty spot on.

The one issue I have with the current Spencer story is the him and Joss thing because it just looks weird with her being SORASed to high school.  But something tells me that if GH has been this accommodating to Bechtel, that role is his as long as he wants it and that is fine with me!

This doesn’t deserve to be put in the nom thread but I really enjoyed Tamara Braun today especially in the scenes with William DeVry.

Just saying how much I am loving Genie Francis’s return as Laura! (: She brings so much history and enjoyment to the show. Looks like Laura is catching on to Ryan’s deceit…

I am not liking Griffin with Kiki at all ): I always feel protective towards Ava, the only reason being that she is played by the great magnificent Maura West!

Genie Francis and Jon Lindstrom continue to dazzle. This is definitely GH’s A-story right now.

The Oscar saga is exactly the type of story that GH should be telling. However, it is moving a bit slowly. I hope they speed it up.

I like Griffin and Kiki together. They are actually more convincing as a couple than Griffin and Ava. Ava’s scheming comes off as amusing; hopefully she will not do anything too extreme.

I listened to the SOD podcast interview with Elizabeth Hendrickson. She admitted that she was not thrilled with her Y&R departure story. She was nice about it, and I appreciated her honesty. I hope GH can reinvent her character sooner than later. It sounds like she really enjoys working on soaps. I hope that she gets a story — and a character — worthy of her talent.

I really enjoyed Elizabeth Hendrickson’s SOD podcast interview. It was cool that she was honest about her feelings about her Y&R departure, and I like that, even though she clearly seems to enjoy working on GH, she was quick to point out how annoying Margaux is.

I tried watching today but found the only thing I cared about was Laura, Ryan and Kevin. The rest bored and annoyed me and so I went and did an errand after the first 20 minutes.

I particularly disliked the dialogue between Michael and Sonny. Note to Michael: Sonny MURDERED your real father! You are Michael QUARTERMAINE, not Corinthos!

With the exception of Jason and Sam I really enjoyed today’s episode, particularly Maxie and Peter – who have amazing chemistry – and Ryan and Felicia and Ava and Kiki. I thought their scenes were really well acted, written and produced. The kids were all wonderful too. (:

The Ryan storyline continues to intrigue. Now that he has separated from Laura, the story is open to more possibilities including the potential to play out for longer than I initially anticipated. The Mary Pat reveal was quite memorable, as was the Halloween gift Ryan left for Ava. The scenes with Ryan and Ava are great! Overall, Jon Lindstrom, Maura West, Genie Francis, and Nicolas Bechtel represent what I am enjoying most about the show right now.
