Today’s episode was an emotional rollercoaster – very well written, acted and produced, and of course the amazing Maura knocked her performance out of the stratosphere. I am feeling emotionally spent by this story.November 30, 2018 at 6:14 pm #1202686325
I am always enormously amused by the easy breezy way everyone is able to just enter the interrogation room at the police station without anyone ever noticing them! (;
the cliffhanger was very good, with Ava packing a gun and confronting who she thinks murdered her daughter, Griffin.
For November sweeps I must admit I have preferred GH this past month to Days. Y&R was mixed, and I didn’t watch B&B at all. GH had me wanting to tune in, looking forward to what happens next on several storylines.
Maura West delivered another great performance today; she is not afraid to look awful!December 2, 2018 at 8:08 am #1202687295
I have a gut feeling that Ava will be sent to the funny farm where she will discover that Kevin is there in Ryan’s place. I have been enjoying the show immensely the past several weeks. They had the best November sweeps of any of the four shows (o.k., I only watched 3 of them, but def. the best of those 3!).
I wish they would do more with the character of Chase – I really like him. My favorite newcomer though is Peter – Wesley Ramsay is awesome in the role! I love the chemistry between Peter and Maxie and esp. look forward to their scenes.
Was Kiki on the show for 5 years? I think she came on the show in 2013 (maybe 2012)? Kristen Alderson had played Starr Manning and then she showed up as Kiki. Not sure how long she stayed before Hayley Erin took over. I couldn’t stand Hayley at first, she was terrible, and she improved so much – I think it was working with Maura West that helped her with her acting abilities. Her scenes with Bryan Craig and Maura West were her best work and she really shined! I am glad she got an Emmy nomination last year and hope she gets another one this year.December 2, 2018 at 10:40 am #1202687362
Kiki came in in summer of 2013 when they transitioned those OLTL actors to new roles. Hayley Erin took over the role in early 2015 and yeah. At the beginning, it was…not good.December 3, 2018 at 2:58 pm #1202688546
The divine Miss Maura shone brightly yet again today with another amazing performance as Ava confronts Griffin, who she thinks murdered Kiki. She is mesmerizing.
I wonder about the teaser: could “Kevin” (Ryan) really be admitting to Ava that he killed Kiki, or is there more to it? I am guessing the latter! Good cliffhanger though!December 4, 2018 at 2:04 pm #1202689247
GH has suddenly been my “must see” show the past several weeks, the one I look forward to seeing and don’t answer my telephone during it! I am still not ever happy with Sonny and Jason and their stories, but the rest of the show has been (mostly) terrific, esp. the Ryan storyline and all the stories that are around it.
I love Peter so much. He and Maxie have quickly become favorites of mine! And Kirsten Storms is playing Maxie so superbly – her conversation today with Felicia was so well played and well written.
The Divine Miss Maura keeps delivering day after day. Jon Lindstrom is doing best ever work.
I wish they would develop Chase more, I really like him!
so looking forward to what comes next!December 5, 2018 at 10:00 am #1202689980
I went to check out Maura West’s performances, and started the other day with the episode where Griffin comes to tell Ava that Kiki has been murdered. Then last night I watched the next three/most recent three episodes on Hulu. Firstly, I have to say, watching the show on Hulu is incredibly easy, which is how I ended up watching three episodes when I’d only meant to watch one. Without commercials or the need to fast-forward them, the show is barely any longer than an episode of any streaming half-hour comedy (36 minutes or so).
As for the show itself, I am enjoying the story surrounding the murder, and find the way it’s being written interesting. Probably because of hearing about it beforehand and what my expectations were, I was surprised that there wasn’t really an episode where it felt like Ava’s grief was the main focus and Maura’s force was on full display. From a storytelling perspective, I like the approach, though I think I’d also enjoy it if Ava had more scenes that ruminate a bit more on Ava’s grief in the situation, something a little more pensive than what we’ve seen so far (like, more time to grieve without being questioned by the cops or going to try to shoot Griffin or playing into Ryan’s making the audience think he’s going to confess to the murder). Maybe that’s just my expectation with soap grief story beats, and I should be more interested in seeing those expectations challenged and subverted. Maura and Jon Lindstrom have been excellent, though.
The other stuff, at this point, I’m only caring about to varying degrees. I would be happy not to see anything dealing with Sonny, Carly, Margaux, Jason, Sam, etc. And I have little investment in the Oscar story, Julian’s relationship with Kim, or Maxie’s relationship with Peter. I’m slightly appalled that they had Michael find out about Kiki’s murder over the phone and Chad Duell hasn’t even been on screen to show any grief. On the other hand, it’s great seeing Britt and Obrecht, and I liked the more fun stuff involving them, Anna, Finn and Epiphany. Also, I think I’m in love with Detective Chase.December 10, 2018 at 5:02 am #1202696325
Looking forward to today’s show because Ava (the divine Miss Maura) will be on – (: I think they will be doing Kiki’s funeral. I am hoping the rumor I have heard about the resolution to this storyline proves to be true, since it will give Maura a chance to really shine even more! (:
I have been enjoying the show enormously, it’s the show I look forward to each weekday. Not every story is equal of course and I do wish they would develop certain characters more (particularly Chase – I adore him). The Ryan/Kevin story has been gold! Just wish they would utilize Felicia more.
I love Oscar and Cam has been growing on me.
Matt Cohen has been excellent as Griffin lately.
I wonder if Jon Lindstrom will submit for Emmy consideration in the lead actor category? he is borderline lead/support for me.
It was great to see Epiphany again! I wish they would have her on way more often. Remember General Hospital: Night Shift? She was amazing in her storyline on that show!December 12, 2018 at 10:18 am #1202699351
GH has been on fire recently! I blame Maura West, Jon Lindstrom, and Genie Francis. Originally, I know some fans on twitter were disappointed to see the character of Ava involved with the Ryan/Kevin storyline over someone like Felicia or Lucy…but she is elevating the whole SL to a new level imo. Lindstrom is delivering some of his best work ever, and Genie Francis has really stepped up her game! I hope GH continues to focus on these three and less on the unholy trinity that is Carly, Sonny, and Jason!
MW was incredible in yesterday’s scenes, as was GF. They are both Emmy-worthy episodes!December 12, 2018 at 5:44 pm #1202699788
Ryan should take out St. Carly. She is always trying to take someone else’s child. She and Sonny are scum for what they did to AJ.December 13, 2018 at 10:42 am #1202700354
Ryan killing Carly would be INCREDIBLE.December 15, 2018 at 11:09 am #1202702112
Just because I was hate watching this movie for the hundredth time because it is AMAZING: how awesome would it be if Oscar’s tumor storyline took a Book of Henry turn?December 16, 2018 at 5:23 pm #1202702960
I hope they get back to Ryan’s story this week; I wish they would play the story more and give Ava, Ryan and Laura more screen time.December 18, 2018 at 6:13 pm #1202705624
Ok that today was the most laugh out use of drugs as plot device since Jessie Spano got hooked on caffeine pills.
