I have been HATING the show for several weeks now and find it almost completely unbearable to watch – am usually multi-tasking whilst having it on in the background. And I think I know why: BILL! I really hate the way they are positioning him. It’s very similar to what they do with Victor on Y&R and Sonny on GH and it alienates me terribly. Everybody is behaving like morons in order to prop up the character of Bill. I usually love Wyatt but he has suddenly lost his mind? Wishy washy Liam is back with a vengeance ): So many characters are back-burnered – always a huge problem with this show. I watch old half hour soaps and they never back-burnered so many characters as they do on this show now.
This was my favorite show of 2016 and only GH has been annoying me more the past several months. So disappointing ):November 15, 2017 at 4:52 pm #1202411925

I feel the same way. If Bill comes out on top, I will probably abandon the show. I am rapidly losing interest. I dislike Wyatt and Steffy more every day.November 30, 2017 at 4:28 pm #1202426257
B&B certainly went all-out with sweeps excitement. But despite all the excitement, I do not feel very invested.
Part of the reason is because the story does not make sense to me. Given the events that went down, Sally should have hired an attorney to determine her rights regarding the Spectra building. Sally, Liam, and others know about Bill’s actions. Sally should be bringing a lawsuit against Bill. And shouldn’t there be an investigation of both the fire and the explosion? In a world where secrets seem to be a thing of the past, how did all of this not make its way to the press or social media? Instead we get Sally at the Forrester Thanksgiving Dinner, which made no sense. Instead we get Liam suddenly accepting Bill’s horrific actions just to appease Steffy. This show needs to get real, or at least a little bit more real.
On another note, I read an interview with Brad Bell in which he says that Maya does not have a big story essentially because he hasn’t thought of one he wants to write. I hope he comes up with one soon.December 11, 2017 at 4:35 pm #1202437169
I am not enjoying the Ridge/Brooke/Thorne story. Although the story is based in history, the brothers are being written in a really shallow, one-dimensional manner. If I here the phrase “little brother” one more time, I’ll scream. Additionally, the fact that two of these three major players are recasts pretty much kills any sense of history.
Perhaps equally painful are the scenes with Steffy and Liam. Steffy cries every day! And Liam acts like a chump every day!
B&B feels like it has returned to its old self. That might be good for some, but I think the show was at its best from early 2015 to early 2017. I am not enjoying this return to B&B classic.December 11, 2017 at 4:56 pm #1202437194
I have been having a really hard time getting through complete episodes of B&B lately ): I am not enjoying any of the current stories ): characters I usually love are ticking me off on a daily basis ):December 17, 2017 at 4:40 pm #1202442772
The Brooke and Ridge scenes were insane given all that has transpired. She should have told him to get lost.
Another aspect of the show that feels inauthentic is this business about Thorne suddenly becoming a designer. At this point, his time would be better spent reviewing his retirement portfolio.
Despite my reservations about the show right now, I did find the end of Friday’s show hilariously soapy. That final scene was directed perfectly.December 19, 2017 at 4:19 am #1202444162
I was trying to remember who the guest/limited performers were during 2017 on this show. I think Linsey Godfrey’s stint and Sean Kanan and Ian Buchanan would qualify; who else?December 27, 2017 at 5:32 am #1202449526

I found the showdown between Bill and Liam to be way over-the-top. Although Liam behaved in character, I found Bill’s behavior to be histrionic and out of character. I understand that he has regrets, but I just don’t seem him losing his self-control to that point. Also, given B&B’s recent track record with overblown “I’m done with you,” confrontations, I don’t imagine this estrangement will last any longer than the others. I am also tired of seeing Steffy cry all the time. I can see an emotional outburst here and there, but she has basically been crying almost non-stop since her tryst with Bill. Again, I just do not see this as being true to her character.
Questions of character aside, this story has totally dominated and the show hasn’t been much fun. I miss the Spectras because at least they added some humor to the show.January 10, 2018 at 5:14 am #1202463019
My big problem is how Bill is always forgiven. The show is so incestuous; with such a small cast the only way to have interactions is to have characters interact who absolutely should not be speaking to each other.
One of my jokes about B&B is that almost the whole cast are guest performers because they disappear from the canvas for months and months at a time! Only a few are utilized all the time and they are often the ones I don’t care for.
Why can’t they bring back Lesli Kay as Felicia?
