I think the daddy of Allie’s baby is Philip….

    Gwen and Jake have chemistry.

There is no way that Sami wouldn’t be in Salem in a hurry rather than staying in Europe.

Gabi is such a handful! (:

I started watching when Jack was killed by Salem Stalker and Jennifer’s “boyfriend” was Patrick, Bonnies son. I think he delivered JJ and JJ definitely needs to return!

Freeman, isn’t Philip Allie’s uncle (Lucas and Philip are half brothers through Kate)? I was also wondering if the father of the baby is someone we know.

I am really loving Days now. All the storylines are pretty interesting and they seem to have dropped the stupid mind control plots (though it is not exactly clear what Chad’s status is). It’s really great that the one soap with new episodes happens to be fun to watch right now.

I think the father of Allie’s baby will be somebody that we don’t know yet, but will have some ties to somebody in Salem.

I liked Patrick, or at least I liked to look at Patrick. I don’t even remember him being involved with Jennifer, but that he and Hope were together after the whole disaster of Chelsea running over poor little Zack and then Bo and Billie making a series of terrible choices to try to keep her from getting caught. That’s one of the times I wouldn’t have blamed Hope for never forgiving Bo. I also remember Jennifer being pregnant with JJ after Jack was ‘killed’ and that Lexie kept telling Jennifer how precarious was and that it was a high-risk pregnancy, which was so silly of the show to keep emphasizing only to have Jennifer crash land on that dumb island Melaswen and give birth on a cliff.

I’ve been trying to think of who could be Allie’s baby’s father, but haven’t come up with any good candidates yet. Everyone that comes to mind is related to her. Someone new but connected to Salem would make sense. I am sure that if Sami knew Allie was pregnant, she’d be back in Salem lickity split, but I don’t think anyone’s told her yet. This is probably what she and Nicole were fighting about in the extended summer preview that came out a while back.

Jake and Gwen are pretty fiery together. I can’t wait for Gabi and Gwen to have some screentime together. The Kate/Hope scenes were interesting. It’s funny to me how quickly Kate can go from being public enemy number one to everyone just thinking of her as meddlesome and overly involved but ultimately trying to do the right thing.

It’s been frustrating for years now how DAYS always “airs” the episode, whether is actually airs anywhere or not. But once the show started offering episodes on the NBC app, they seemed to strongly encourage that viewing platform. I think episodes that are pre-empted by news coverage present an opportunity for them to augment their streaming numbers. Maybe that’s a significant part of the show’s revenue stream. That version does play a lot of adds.

Even though things have been out of production for months, I still don’t think DAYS has much to worry about in terms of running out of episodes before they can make more. They still have four months of shows, and they’ve now set actually wedding dates for three of the four couples in July. It’s probably not worth hedging at this point and looking silly when their holidays and stated wedding dates arrive too late. That said, I think the show actually did get an episode or two ahead due to the French Open not airing as scheduled, so their may be a plan to remedy that or they may just allow themselves to be ahead.

Interesting theory… you certainly could be onto something there. I, for one, prefer catching the show on NBC (or On Demand) but I realize many (perhaps most?) opt for the convenience of streaming. It’s crazy that DAYS now finds itself a few days ahead in its televised schedule — even more reason for the show to regroup and perhaps recycle those episodes that did not get to air due to pre-emptions.

And belated well wishes to Judi Evans. It’s such great news she made it out of the hospital and is recovering back home.

Because I watch the show with my mom, it’s easier to record the air show and watch it on DVR, resorting to On Demand when there’s breaking news coverage. But if it were just me, I’d prefer the app. Even with the commercials, it’s easy knowing that it’s going to show up at whatever time every day and I never have to worry that something it going to interrupt it or that it will take forever to access. GH has the sweetest setup of all with their episodes airing secondarily on Hulu.

Yes, I’ve been so glad to hear that Judi Evans is back home and recovering well from her riding accident, the blood clot, and COVID-19! What a trooper!

Given the reactions from her co-stars and the amount of press this has been getting over the last couple of days, it’s hard to imagine that nothing will happen here — either the show/network getting Melissa to issue some sort of apology or the actress being at least sidelined for a while. Since we all know DAYS still has four months of episodes featuring her, the former seems like the easier way to go if they can make it happen. Even if it was done under a degree of duress, I think some sort of well worded mea culpa would do more good than firing her and having her off the show until they decided to bring her back in a couple of years. A firing might also be hard to make happen, practically, since the show’s not filming right now.

That said, writing off Jennifer and Jack would leave a wide open hole to bring Will and Sonny back in. They could slot Will and Sonny into a lot of the stuff Jennifer and Jack do anyway. Will, like Jennifer, is a reporter, and Sonny could jump into the business just like his mother did in a publishing capacity. They could interact a lot more with Chad, Abigail, and their kids, which they should anyway since Chad is their best friend and Abigail is both of their cousin.

Or maybe nothing will happen. This is really disheartening to see especially because I love Jennifer as a character and have been such a fan of Melissa’s work. At least with the Chick-Fil-A incident in 2012, a few people came to her defense (or maybe it was just Crystal Chappell) more or less saying she must not have really understood the significance of what she was saying, and since Melissa totally clammed up after that, it subsided pretty fast.

I don’t see NBC/Days keeping her after this. I’m sure her co-stars will get together, especially the younger ones, and demand not to work with her anymore. Both her character’s kids are not on the show anymore (JJ and Abigail) so there isn’t really a reason to keep her on the show anyway. She’s done.

I disagree with Melissa Reeves’s political views but I am against the firing of anyone for expressing their political views. I want there to be freedom of speech. I disagreed with Roseanne being fired. It does not mean that I like her views or even that I like her and honestly I could live without Jack and Jennifer and would vastly prefer for Michael’s suggestions for Will and Sonny to stay on the show. As for co-stars disliking her or her views that is true for people in all sorts of jobs. I am all for people expressing their opposite views from hers and bringing it directly to her – healthy debate and trying to change people’s thinking is always a great thing to do. Kimberlin Brown and Steve Burton are extreme far-right in their views too. I don’t want Steve Burton on GH but it has nothing to do with his political views – I just can’t stand Jason Morgan! Sorry if this has gone all over the place but I am grieving and putting together coherent sentences isn’t necessarily happening at the moment. But I don’t think people should lose their jobs for having unpopular views, both when I disagree with them, or when I agree with them (I am an anti-imperialist, which isn’t always all that popular with most people).

Of course people do have the right to their views and to express those views freely, but we all face consequences for our actions. I think most of us in our jobs have a certain code of conduct to which we’re expected to adhere, and if we don’t, we could be reprimanded or fired. It seems perfectly reasonable to me that propagating racist, sexist, anti-LGBT, and other bigoted views would be a fireable offense for a high-profile figure on a television show. It’s not a case of someone digging through Melissa’s tax returns and learning she donated to some abhorrent cause or uncovering that she’s the secret person behind a mystery screen name. If you’re a celebrity and you use your name, your voice and your platform to express or support an opinion, the right to free speech doesn’t protect you from people potentially not wanting to work with you or be around you, or from your show needing to take action to avoid people thinking they condone those views.

I would be so glad to hear that Melissa sat down with others and had a productive discussion about this and saw why many, many people see the views expressed in that post as extremely problematic. But productive discussion is in extremely short supply these days.

To bring it back to the show itself, I loved how Brady and Victor thought they could just pretend Kristen didn’t stab Victor and that would fix everything, and I really loved Eli shutting them down on it. These troublemaking and criminal soap characters are so accustomed to running over law enforcement, so it’s nice to see that not happen for once.

My one complaint about what’s happening on the show these days is that they spend so much time talking about court proceedings that we’re never allowed to see! First it was Christian’s murder trial, then David’s custody hearing, and now Gabi’s trial for drugging Abigail. If they’re not going to put up the court set and show us the trial, they shouldn’t talk about it so much or act like it’s such a big deal.

There will always be people who merge black lives matter with that one march where so called black lives matter people were chanting cops were pigs and they will fry like bacon or when kapernkck wore cop pig socks
