Yes, I had a feeling that Holly didn’t really die. I also read a strange rumor that Nicole isn’t really Nicole… thanks, Michael, for the update! (:

It could be that Nicole is really Kristen. would make sense why she is so up on brady and angry with everyone else.

    My pleasure, Freeman!

Nicole not being Nicole would be a GREAT twist! I’d love it if she were really Kristen. It’s not hard for me to believe this is really Nicole, though — everything she’s been doing over the last week or two are classics from the Nicole Walker playbook: treating Eric like absolute garbage after the accident that killed Daniel, turning on almost all of her friends in times of emotional distress, reverting to Brady when she doesn’t like her other options.

This is exactly what someone who is trying to impersonate Nicole would be doing….I think it is Kristen.

Some of the mannerisms (the way she swigs her glass, some of the looks) are very Kristen-esque.

I didn’t see Nicole as Anna coming, but we should’ve known since the actress who played her is returning.

Can we just take a moment and give a huge round of applause to Ari Zucker, who has been phenomenal these last couple weeks. I love how DAYS brought her back just in time for May sweeps, and it seems like everyone in the cast has stepped up their game. If what the ending to Friday’s show is alluding to, does turn out to be true, then I agree it’s a very clever twist and Ron C. & co. deserve the gold star for creativity!

And can we also hear it for Suzanne Rogers?! She has been killing it with this addiction storyline. The scene where Maggie makes her first attempt at a drink was so magnificently acted, it sent chills down my spine.

Yes, Ari Zucker jumped right back into the show without missing a beat in terms of her performances. I’m certainly interested in whatever is going on with Nicole, or I guess “Nicole,” and a twist that sees someone else pretending to be her helps to alleviate both the problem of the timing of her character’s return (though I still argue that, even if the whole point was to return as that kidnapping was happening, the show could have better timed things so Nicole was back with episodes to spare before the kidnapping thing started) and her latching onto the idea that Brady is the only person who cared to help Holly.

Also I totally agree about Suzanne Rogers, doing incredible work as always as Maggie struggles with her sobriety. I don’t love this storyline overall (Victor and Maggie should be more supportive of each other in this difficult time, not sniping at one another, and really I’d think even Kate would be more sympathetic to Maggie than she has been), but the performances are great.

The writing really has been subpar over the last few months compared to where it was during the first year of Ron’s tenure, but it’s slowly weaving its way back to a better place. The weakest spot on the show continues to be everything surrounding Jack’s election and the immigration story. I’m sure there are complicated reasons why Haley couldn’t get a green card through proper channels, but the show hasn’t done anything to explain that at all, and I’m not sure why. If they were going to bother writing the story, surely someone would have looked into that aspect of it. Any storyline that’s this focused on a currently relevant social issue should be more fact-based and informative than this story, which veers to the typical soapy drama (fake marriage! secret recordings! the sister is the mother!) but all centered on a character who’s been on the show a few months and with nothing that makes it feel tethered to reality. And while Jack firing Hope as police commissioner felt like a foregone conclusion after he won the election, the shocking decision in the previews as to who her replacement will be just feels so outlandish that it’s hard not to be annoyed by it. Here’s hoping that when those absentee ballots get counted, the election result gets reversed.

    Is Nicole really Kristen or somebody else? Totally confused! It always makes me laugh with these they come back as a character already on the canvas that their bodies are not only transformed but they are either the world’s greatest mimics or have gotten voice transplants! (Soaps, ya gotta love ’em!) (;

I enjoyed Maggie, Doug, Julie, Victor and “Nicole” today but the show is still not very good in my opinion. and I LOVE ZANDER!!!!! (Long live Zander!)

I kinda wish Leo was still around to flirt with Zander. They should’ve made Xander “bi” and explored some kind of dynamic between them. Two lost souls trying to get respectability. Xander and Leo in the Mayor story would’ve been a lot better than Eve and Jack.

^^Wow, yes it would have! I also feel like it was a missed opportunity not doing more with Xander and Leo. I can see them not having Xander want to have sex with Leo, but the two of them have a lot of similarities and were really fun to watch together. They would have made great partners in crime for any number of stories or situations. One of the things that seems to be happening under the current writing regime is that the characters don’t really matter very much to them, or at least not as people rather than just elements to create the story. Leo is a good example, where they have someone who, seemingly by accident and also largely through performance, have developed some interesting nuances and had a lot of potential, but all they saw was a fake husband for Sonny and a fake son for John, and when they were tired of playing out those two things, he was immediately gone. It’s really frustrating to feel like the people writing the characters don’t care about them.

I will say, though, I feel like Eli and Eve would be a very hot secret affair if they could make that work. Given what’s been happening with him and Lani, I could see him slipping and cheating once or twice, and that’s just the sort of thing Eve would do. But the situation just has too much baggage, with Eve being Jennifer’s arch nemesis and having replaced Hope.

Based on what I’ve seen (which doesn’t include yesterday), Kristen is definitely the likeliest candidate for whoever is looking (and sounding, LOL) exactly like Nicole. I’m not wondering then if Stacy Haiduk is going to play a face-swapped Nicole? Or maybe they did some sort of sci fi body swap?

The truth about Nicole has been revealed! It became so obvious. Zuker did a perfect Kristen.

I could have sworn on May 17th’s episode I heard Xander call Nicole, “Anna,” which is why I thought she was Anna DiMera. Then today we find out it was Kristen. I’m so confused.

    Here it is:
    https://www.nbc.com/days-of-our-lives/video/friday-may-17-2019/3954420

At 36:37, I hear, “You couldn’t have done any of this without me, Anna.” And then I turned on the closed captions and it says he says “Partner.” It sounds much more like “Anna” than “Partner.” Damn accent.

Ah, that clears it up. I didn’t know where the Anna thing had come from.

It was good to finally get the reveal that Nicole was Kristen. While I dislike the silly use of those masks, largely because they just have no reasonable limit — Brady was kissing Nicole and didn’t realize anything on her face was amiss — it’s certainly a story turn that makes sense. Ari Zucker was fantastic on Friday, and her version of Kristen disguised as Nicole actually felt more like Kristen than Stacy Haiduk’s Kristen has. It’ll be fun to watch this play out for a while. I wonder what’s become of the real Nicole?

Thursday’s and Friday’s episodes certainly got the action going, and it was good to see all the drama that had any momentum in one episode was picked up in the next.

Excellent work by Suzanne Rogers in both episodes. I feel genuinely very sad that Maggie has fallen off the wagon, but Rogers hit it out of the park.

Check the link I posted and tell me if you also hear Xander say “Anna” instead of “Partner.”

You are right about Arianne Zucker as Kristen. She is much better at playing her than Stacy Haiduk.
