Yes, I had a feeling that Holly didn’t really die. I also read a strange rumor that Nicole isn’t really Nicole… thanks, Michael, for the update! (:May 15, 2019 at 3:04 pm #1202895456
It could be that Nicole is really Kristen. would make sense why she is so up on brady and angry with everyone else.May 15, 2019 at 4:55 pm #1202895534
My pleasure, Freeman!
Nicole not being Nicole would be a GREAT twist! I’d love it if she were really Kristen. It’s not hard for me to believe this is really Nicole, though — everything she’s been doing over the last week or two are classics from the Nicole Walker playbook: treating Eric like absolute garbage after the accident that killed Daniel, turning on almost all of her friends in times of emotional distress, reverting to Brady when she doesn’t like her other options.May 16, 2019 at 2:28 pm #1202896865
This is exactly what someone who is trying to impersonate Nicole would be doing….I think it is Kristen.
Some of the mannerisms (the way she swigs her glass, some of the looks) are very Kristen-esque.May 17, 2019 at 4:25 pm #1202898002
I didn’t see Nicole as Anna coming, but we should’ve known since the actress who played her is returning.May 17, 2019 at 8:40 pm #1202898211
but Kristen is also returning too.May 19, 2019 at 4:45 pm #1202900201
Can we just take a moment and give a huge round of applause to Ari Zucker, who has been phenomenal these last couple weeks. I love how DAYS brought her back just in time for May sweeps, and it seems like everyone in the cast has stepped up their game. If what the ending to Friday’s show is alluding to, does turn out to be true, then I agree it’s a very clever twist and Ron C. & co. deserve the gold star for creativity!
And can we also hear it for Suzanne Rogers?! She has been killing it with this addiction storyline. The scene where Maggie makes her first attempt at a drink was so magnificently acted, it sent chills down my spine.May 20, 2019 at 9:38 am #1202901402
Yes, Ari Zucker jumped right back into the show without missing a beat in terms of her performances. I’m certainly interested in whatever is going on with Nicole, or I guess “Nicole,” and a twist that sees someone else pretending to be her helps to alleviate both the problem of the timing of her character’s return (though I still argue that, even if the whole point was to return as that kidnapping was happening, the show could have better timed things so Nicole was back with episodes to spare before the kidnapping thing started) and her latching onto the idea that Brady is the only person who cared to help Holly.
Also I totally agree about Suzanne Rogers, doing incredible work as always as Maggie struggles with her sobriety. I don’t love this storyline overall (Victor and Maggie should be more supportive of each other in this difficult time, not sniping at one another, and really I’d think even Kate would be more sympathetic to Maggie than she has been), but the performances are great.
The writing really has been subpar over the last few months compared to where it was during the first year of Ron’s tenure, but it’s slowly weaving its way back to a better place. The weakest spot on the show continues to be everything surrounding Jack’s election and the immigration story. I’m sure there are complicated reasons why Haley couldn’t get a green card through proper channels, but the show hasn’t done anything to explain that at all, and I’m not sure why. If they were going to bother writing the story, surely someone would have looked into that aspect of it. Any storyline that’s this focused on a currently relevant social issue should be more fact-based and informative than this story, which veers to the typical soapy drama (fake marriage! secret recordings! the sister is the mother!) but all centered on a character who’s been on the show a few months and with nothing that makes it feel tethered to reality. And while Jack firing Hope as police commissioner felt like a foregone conclusion after he won the election, the shocking decision in the previews as to who her replacement will be just feels so outlandish that it’s hard not to be annoyed by it. Here’s hoping that when those absentee ballots get counted, the election result gets reversed.
