The Ben/Ciara stuff continues to be the best thing going. I love that they’re taking a clever approach too, and even though we don’t know exactly what will happen, I’m not worried that it’ll turn out badly for them. I mean, Tripp has been largely clueless about a lot of things, but even he is questioning if Ben set the fire. Eve may get to the point of having to sell out her buddy Claire to save face.

While I am glad that Will and Sonny are getting remarried, and I admire that the actors are working to sell this story, it is basically impossible to feel emotionally invested in a supposed impending death that is clearly not going to happen. The only thing anyone is doing to try to help Will at this point is harassing Eve, which is kind of hilarious. Rex, Sarah and Kayla tried to treat that tumor for like a week. I’ve spent more time contemplating my next move on Words with Friends. The blase way in which Kayla and others are accepting that they’re out of options because Eve won’t give them the journal is ludicrous. They can’t even write the story as if we’re supposed to take it seriously.

Marlena called Sami last week, and Kate was talking about calling Lucas on Monday, so I would assume they’ll show up very soon. (Though I’m not sure why they needed to call Sami and Lucas separately, since Lucas left town to be with Ali and presumably is in the same place as Sami.)

    Zander the hero to the rescue! (; He wants to impress Sarah, of all people! (;

Maggie’s scenes with Brady and Victor today were brilliant!

the rest of today’s episode felt repetitious and dull to me.

DAYS is entertaining but of course the writing has gotten weird again. The only thing good right now is Suzanne Rogers performance as her character Maggie has fallen off the wagon. I was happy when she told Victor that she was drinking and was going to AA. Loving Ciara and Ben

The show seems to be in an era of stories that will soon be ended or abandoned. Chloe and Rex continue to bond (as Sarah seems to be staying in that relationship on autopilot), but Chloe is only going to be around for a few more weeks. Tripp keeps winding up in close situations with Haley, but he won’t be around much longer, either. Claire is causing trouble for basically all the under 30 characters, but she’ll soon be gone as well. I feel like someone looked at the show, realized a bunch of stuff wasn’t working as well as they thought it would, and decided they could use Peggy McCay’s death as a reset point.

That said, I did like the scenes with Abe, Stefan and Victor, which were totally unexpected, and I’m interested to see what Kristen is going to say to Stefan as well. Victor is possibly the crankiest he’s ever been, but it’s mostly funny. It was nice to hear Xander defending Maggie to Kristen, and Maggie defending Xander to Brady.

As repetitive as it’s become, I still get a kick out of people marching into Eve’s office, demanding Rolf’s journal, berating and/or threatening her, and ultimately leaving with nothing. Eve needs to start locking her door almost as much as Willow on GH. All this, and Eve is actively trying to get the journal back! I’m glad someone finally mentioned that giving Jack that serum to get his memory back would seem grossly irresponsible since it gave Will a deadly brain tumor.

Eileen Davidson is missed as Kristen.

I still think a Xander/Leo/Sarah triangle would be interesting. The show really dropped the ball with this one.

I enjoyed the Xander/Maggie bonding scenes.

Brandon Barash oozes sex without even trying.

At first I thought Ted had a connection to the real Nicole and he thinks that this is her and not Kristen. But it looks like it was just his bringing the good news that Holly isn’t dead to his grieving mother. My thought was that Ted would be a goner and Kristen would murder him to keep the secret!

Kate and Maggie’s scene was fiery. Hoping Maggie delivers the news to Sonny and Will on Monday’s episode.

    I just love love love Zander! (: I know it’s wrong but I can’t help it! (;

I am hoping the real Nicole comes back to town and vanquishes Kristen!

the episode today was uneven but enough of it was good to make it worthwhile!

The tribute to Peggy McCay (Caroline Brady) is going to finally happen this week. She died back in October 2018 but the show does that weird 6 months ahead of time filming of episodes so they are finally getting to it now.

Kristen will be getting violent this week too.

Anybody else think the real Nicole will come back to Salem while the fake Nicole (Kristen) is also in town? The showdown of the two Nicole’s would be interesting! (:

I found Friday’s episode really entertaining. All the sniping at the hospital was enjoyable to watch (Kate/Hope, Kate/Maggie, Kayla/Eve), though I would have liked to see Will and Sonny get the good news about Rolf’s journal. Maggie said she’d told Sonny, so I guess that happened already, but considering the stream of people threatening Eve over it, it’s weird that we don’t see (at least not yet) John, Sonny or Jennifer learning that they recovered the journal. Not that she deserves it, but will anyone apologize to Eve? Kayla sure didn’t.

It had not occurred to me until Friday’s show that Haley might actually be sent back to China for some amount of time. It would be sad to see her go without one last high-pitched, nasally admonishment from Agent Smith, who I was actually really missing in these scenes.

I also was incredibly amused by Ted thinking he was telling a grieving mother that her child was alive when in fact he was revealing himself as a loose end for Kristen to handle. Arianne Zucker’s Kristen really delights me, and I very much enjoyed her scenes with Gabi.

At this point, I’m here for basically anything Xander does.

I’m looking forward to the memorial for Caroline, and to the returns. In a strange and sad coincidence, it appears that Peter Reckell’s mother also just passed away.

Will and Sonny re-married on today’s episode but there was no mention of the serum so did Maggie tell Sonny & Will or not? It seemed like Will was supposed to be on his deathbed?

Kristen – as Nicole – knocked out Ted and has a not so well thought out plan to leave him somewhere in the not so secret passageways at the DiMera’s – with Zander’s help.

Maggie said she’s told Sonny on Friday’s episode about the serum, and I think Sonny was telling Will about it at the start of yesterday’s episode. Will just didn’t seem very optimistic about the formula actually being able to help him at this point, which seems understandable given what poor condition he was in by the end of the episode. The wedding was small, but sweet and moving. I know I said I couldn’t really invest in this storyline since Will is obviously not going to die, but this episode did suck me in, largely on the strength of the performances. Chandler Massey really did an excellent job. Will no longer being able to repeat the wedding vows was so sad. I found it somewhat strange that the show so deliberately had this wedding before Sami and Lucas arrived. They’ll be back today, I believe, so it seems like they could have included them, and also included Adrienne and Justin, who just weren’t there. I know the wedding ended up being very, very impromptu, though, and the intimate feel was kind of nice.

Nice to have this balanced with the comedy of Kristen dealing with unconscious Ted and working overtime to get rid of Abe and Stefan.

Hurricane Sami is back! and Lucas too! Today’s episode was an excellent one, with so many strong performances: Chandler Massey, Freddie Smith, Alison Sweeney, Bryan Datillo, Lauren Koslow, Deidre Hall, Josh Taylor, Camila Banus…

Where is Adrienne? I miss Judi Evans so much! She is hardly ever on any more ): Also: where is John? He would usually be by Marlena’s side.

I do wish Will looked more sick though?

Eve and Claire are both unhinged. But I do like that Tripp is seeing the light about Claire and working with Ciara to get a confession out of Claire.

Even though I’m not rooting for Eve, I think her position is at least sympathetic. Claire, on the other hand, is just so out there, but fun to watch.

In what I found to be a pretty odd decision, Marlena said that when they called Paul to tell him about what was going on with Will, he was so upset that John went out to be with him. It’s nice that they’re maintaining the connection between John and his son and not just sweeping Paul’s love for Will under the rug, but strange to usher John off screen for this portion of the story. This is one of a few things that have just felt off lately in terms of timing, like Sami and Lucas arriving shortly after Will and Sonny’s wedding was over.

What a joy it was to see Sami and Lucas. I’ve really missed Sami so much, especially in this storyline with Will, which has lacked a certain degree of spark, particularly on the part of the people trying to help Will.

Today’s episode was wonderful! I particularly loved the directorial achievement, as I was invested in every single scene. They did a great job with the extra playing Caroline, made her look enough like her despite being obscured, and the use of Peggy McCay’s voice-over was a nice touch too.

Sami brought a gravitas to the episode and her prayer was well done.

I also thought they did a good job with the Claire/Tripp/Ciara scenes in that they didn’t interrupt the flow of the more important story.

For some reason I thought Kayla would find Caroline and not Kimberly; I must have missed that Caroline has been with Kimberly lately.

Chandler Massey’s Will just melts my heart (:

I love the bond between Kate and Marlena – Deidre Hall always shines in all of her scenes of this type with everyone.

I do wish Adrienne was there supporting her son and son-in-law though.

Yeah, the episode did turn out to be very good overall. Sami’s presence has absolutely added a gravitas to the story that had been largely missing before. I could have done without the checklist of soap cliches for this type of situation — the flatlining, the chapel gathering, the patient existing in a space between life and death and having to go back — but they did execute it well. And it’s a great touch to have Will and Caroline have met in that space as she was crossing over and sending him back to the land of the living.

The acting was wonderful all around, and it’s great watching actors who have spent a lot of time working together, like Deidre Hall, Lauren Koslow, Josh Taylor, Alison Sweeney, Chandler Massey and Bryan Datillo, doing these types of ground scenes, supporting one another and really seeming like family. I was impressed with Josh’s reaction scenes when Roman learned from Kimberly that Caroline had died. It’s a shame that Patsy Pease won’t be able to return for the farewell, but it makes storyline sense that Kimberly (and Theresa) would not travel to Salem to celebrate Caroline’s life when she’s been with them for the last few years and they could memorialize her where she is. I was already crying at the end of yesterday’s episode, so I’m sure the next few will be very moving.

I also really enjoyed the Ciara/Tripp/Claire scenes. Claire is a real piece of work, and Ciara looked like she was barely restraining herself from strangling Claire.

The family connections on Days continue to be strong and meaningful. This episode was mostly really good. I do wish there had been more clips of Caroline though. But overall it was a very touching sendoff for an iconic character. She was on the show for over 30 years and had connections to almost every other important character!

While at first I found it odd that Hope was with Victor it made sense when I realized that he was the biological grandfather of Hope’s children. His saying that Caroline was the love of his life, and yet recognizing that she belonged with Shawn was very moving.

I wonder if Ciara will tell Hope the real truth of what is going on?

I hope we get a scene between Maggie and Victor but I doubt we will ):
