Yes, everything I’ve seen also suggested that yesterday was Olivia Rose Keegan’s last airdate, including a tweet from Martha Madison yesterday. But in a world where things are often not what they seem, the DAYS shooting schedule is one of the bigger mysteries, so who knows. I agree that Keegan and Victoria Konefal played well off each other in their big scenes, and both actresses have been great down the stretch. The outpouring of sympathy for Claire was understandable, since all of these people are her parents and grandparents, but it felt like a little much by the end of the episode, where even Haley and Tripp were falling over themselves to be nice to her. (Ben actually struck a good note — not saccharine, but kind and sympathetic.) It’s frustrating seeing Eve totally get away with her blatant abuse of power and attempts to subvert justice, especially since it seemed Eli had plenty of time to get that phone while Eve was still at the hospital, not that it makes sense that he left it somewhere accessible to her in the first place. Though, everyone wanting to string Eve up for not getting Claire some psychiatric help seems unfair, too. Sure, Eve should have gotten Claire some help ideally, but Eve just doesn’t think that way and she was genuinely more concerned about what was happening with Claire than any of her own relatives.
I’m looking forward to seeing where the show’s focus goes next. It would be great to see Will and Sonny having more story, but I don’t know if that will happen. It would be cool if the show took a little time with Will writing the tribute to Caroline, showing him talk to various relatives and interlacing that with some cool flashbacks, and launch that into a new story or a mystery from the past. But I don’t see anything even close to that happening. Maybe they’ll throw Will and Sonny and Ben and Ciara all into the same orbit and have the two of them work through finding some peace with him. (I know that making peace with the person who essentially murdered you it a little out there, but it’s worth remembering that Ben was good friends with Will and Sonny before Abigail and Chad drove him crazy and he started killing people.)July 11, 2019 at 5:15 pm #1202971495
I read it on the official (blue checkmark) days of our lives page on facebook. sounds like its only for one more episode, but it said she is gone for 2 weeks.July 11, 2019 at 5:26 pm #1202971504
I guess it was a link i got off of there for soap hub. Unless someone just screwed up, here’s the link: https://soaphub.com/days-of-our-lives/days-of-our-lives-comings-and-goings-july-8-12/?fbclid=IwAR3Savae7i50U_doBdJf3B8dKVCdH7Hp1MvIz99z5Q1rW7t3XPXuTMoAVI8July 12, 2019 at 11:04 am #1202972567
I missed a few minutes and am confused as to why Ted and Kate are claiming Stefan was behind their abductions instead of Kristen?
I wish Sonny would do something else with his life rather than Titan or DiMera or anything related to big business. I actually liked it better when he was running the restaurant/club several years ago. A complete change of pace would be nice but I know the writers lack imagination and I suspect he will wind up at DiMera ):
I keep imagining Eileen Davidson in the role of Kristen rather than Stacey Haiduk. I have read that Susan is coming to town and I thought Stacey was great in the role the last time she played her, but it’s just not the same without the real Kristen ):
Isn’t it going to be difficult for J.J. to be around Ben, who will clearly be spending time at Ciara’s apartment?
I personally would like to see Ben and Will come to terms with the past now – I think that could be quite good if it was handled right. (and they took their time with it).
I found today’s episode to be a bit of a letdown ):July 13, 2019 at 5:07 pm #1202974008
Kristen forced Kate and Ted to blame Stefan.
Speaking of Kristen, during her convo with Stefan and Gabi, she knew about Nicole and Kate arguing over Theresa’s designs way back when. But how would she know that? Definitely a mistake on the part of the writers.July 15, 2019 at 8:31 am #1202975695
I’m torn between liking that the show is being equal opportunity in terms of women threatening men and vice versa and just feeling like some of these scenes are a little insane. It was ridiculous that when Claire was confronted by Tripp and Ciara about the fires, she ended up putting Tripp in the hospital and tying Ciara to a bed. Now this past week, we had Ted begging Kate not to kill him with a broken bottle and Xander talking Kristen out of killing him with a knife, and honestly it seems like either of them could have just taken the weapon away. That and the general disregard for the way time works have been pretty annoying. How is it that Stefan, Gabi, and Nicole decided to have this nonsense public launch for Basic Black/Gabi Chic in the morning and then like an hour later were acting like Nicole had fallen down on the job because she hadn’t planned the event yet? I also found it surprising that Kristen was able to talk about Nicole and Kate fighting over Theresa’s designs during their time working together, but the fights were rather public, so I guess she could have known.
In my mind, I’m now just imagining that this Kristen arc will eventually be over and at some point down the line, Eileen Davidson will be back and we’ll learn that the Kristen who did all of this stuff under Stacy Haiduk was just an imposter or something. The writing still feels so off for Kristen. This is like a woman who is under the delusion that she’s Kristen DiMera and just basing all of her actions off of what people have said about Kristen and what she imagines it would have been like to be raised by Stefano. I was so excited for Hope to find Ted and Kate, and the whole thing was just such a fizzle, especially since Kristen getting them to blame Stefan was both predictable and ridiculous.
I am also just very, very over Eve as police commissioner. It would be one thing if she were being careful and really underhanded and sneaky with all of her machinations, but at this point, everyone knows like a dozen terrible things she’s done and she keeps getting away with it. Blaming Hope and Eli for not arresting Claire for the cabin fires was beyond the pale. The Spectator should be running front-page stories to call her out on all this crap.
It was nice to see Will and Sonny, and I too hope that Sonny does something now that is unrelated to big business. I also agree it would be nice to see Ben and Will come to some sort of understanding about what happened. They seemed to be mixing Will and Sonny in with Tripp and Haley a little on Friday, so maybe they’ll integrate those character groups and the two of them will have to be in each other’s orbits. Given how infrequently Ciara is there, I don’t think it will be hard for JJ for mostly avoid running into Ben at the loft.July 15, 2019 at 1:43 pm #1202976193
I wonder if Zander gets immunity will he sell out Kristen? or “Nicole”? Or go along with it being Stefan? Nice cliff-hanger! (:
O.K., so they gave us what they left out of Friday’s episode today to explain why they are claiming it is Stefan and not Kristen – she has threatened them and their loved ones if they don’t do what she says.
I’m not at all invested in Hope and Ted. For some reason Hope doesn’t work with anyone except Bo.
I wonder if Kristen will kill Rex? Just a weird thought…
I am also wondering if Kristen will be pretending to be Susan or will it really be Susan who comes to town this week? At least the show has me curious! (:July 16, 2019 at 11:53 am #1202978916
I guess curious is better than nothing!
I keep getting so distracted feeling like they’re writing Kristen as being too drastic for weak motivations. We’re meant to believe Kristen cares this much about working at DiMera? Chad, Stefan, Andre, and Kate have all been far more invested than she ever was. I’d be buying this much more (though still not entirely) if it were wrapped up in a scheme to get Brady back, a goal she seemed to have forgotten entirely until he came knocking on her door yesterday. It hadn’t occurred to me that she might kill Rex, but it seems like a possibility. I kind of hope not, but then again, if the show ultimately takes my advice and just claims all this nonsense was done by a doppelganger, it won’t really matter. I guess Rex is better alive than dead?
The Gabi/Stefan relationship is getting interesting for me. Of course because Gabi got this plan from Brady, it’s turning out the same way Brady’s did and she’s developing feelings for Stefan. But it’s hard to know how much she can barrel forward without acknowledging those feelings. She sure got down to the police station pretty fast after he was arrested.
Hope and Ted don’t work for me as a couple mostly because Hope only seems interested in him as eye candy, a dinner companion and a compliment machine. She doesn’t seem to have any actual feelings for him. I think she could work with the right match, but they haven’t had that. Aiden was pretty good, but they totally ruined that. Maybe she could try someone who is neither a cop nor a lawyer.
Can’t wait to see what Xander does next!July 16, 2019 at 1:24 pm #1202979295
Now I am more convinced that Kristen will pretend to be Susan in order to hang around Salem undetected. If Zander has the one and only mask (which isn’t worn out yet from being pulled on and off on daily basis and has the magical power to change someone’s body type and voice! um, can I please have one of those?) (;
I know it’s awful of me but I want Zander on the show so while I usually want villains and villainesses to get their comeuppances I am making an exception for him! (;
Please bring back the real Nicole! (: Will we ever get to see Holly again?July 19, 2019 at 5:11 am #1202984868
Of course the real Susan will come to town and get everything mucked up even more! (: Just wish the real Nicole would come back to town! (:
I’ve heard that Robin Strasser shows up in September so let the countdown begin! (:
Here’s hoping Jack will be tolerable once he gets his memories back because I simply can’t stand any of his scenes since his return ):
I prefer Ted with Kate than with Hope.
I wonder if Marlena will get a new storyline?July 21, 2019 at 9:55 am #1202988375
I have read that Robin Strasser’s guest stint will be for 15 episodes, so she will be eligible for the Guest Performer Emmy! (: Her first air date is some time in September.
Lucas Adams and Kyle Lowder both leave in August. I will miss the former and good riddance to the latter!July 22, 2019 at 10:48 am #1202990060
Two Susan’s are running around Salem! Nice interplay with Will, Sonny and Brady for the real Susan while Kristen grovelled to Zander elsewhere!July 23, 2019 at 3:14 pm #1202992565
The two Susans are a hoot, but I am a little bothered that Brady, Will and Sonny seem to have no clue that one of them isn’t really Susan. I often don’t mind when villains get away with their schemes if they’ve carefully planned out and executed them, but Kristen didn’t plan her scheme very well to begin with, and then have done a very poor job of carrying it out and is now just flying by the seat of her pants. Brady especially should be getting suspicious — Susan tries to jump his bones despite previously having zero interest in him, and the last time Susan came to town, it turned out to be Kristen. That’s all the info they need to at least suspect something.
It’s kind of fun watching Xander be in this position. It’s a rare case where everyone thinks he’s done something worse than what they know he did, when he really did do something good by not killing Ted and Kate, but no one is going to give him any credit for it.
I’m looking forward to Rex leaving, but will really miss Lucas Adams’ Tripp, especially since I’m not really a fan of JJ and Haley as a pair. Maybe when they have a problem that isn’t immigration or racism, they’ll be more compelling? Jack and Eve are both kind of baffling to me in the way they’re being written. Jack is so unlikable right now that he isn’t even fun to watch, and continuing to draw parallels between him and real-life politicians only makes the story feel more irritating. Eve is fun, but she doesn’t really seem to be going anywhere useful, and it seems rather unbelievable that she can even continue to be commissioner at this point. Also, I can’t fathom why she’d want Ted, a person who is unapologetically obsessed with Hope, as the DA. It’ll be even harder for her to just push her own agenda through.
Also looking forward to Robin Strasser’s guest stint!July 24, 2019 at 10:52 am #1202994017
Kudos to Stacy Haiduk for doing a really good job distinguishing Kristen pretending to be Susan from actual Susan. I feel like she made the two of them very similar but quite distinct.
That said, Kristen having convinced Susan that she is actually Mary Moira feels insanely stupid for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that Kristen WASN’T EVEN ACTING LIKE MARY MOIRA. She was just still pretending to be Susan, which should not have worked even a little bit, because Mary Moira is a totally different person with her own personality that goes well beyond a nun’s habit. This and then having Susan leave immediately — she came to Salem from Memphis for a two-hour visit??? — make absolutely no sense. My only solace is that Kristen will have to be caught before too long, right? Even that’s not much of a comfort, though, because of how off the writing for Kristen is. The longer Holly is gone, the more glaring it is that Kristen took a child away from most of her family, without an ounce of remorse or guilt, so she could pretend to be Nicole and try to get Brady back. Kristen can be cruel, but she loves children and just wouldn’t do this.July 24, 2019 at 10:56 am #1202994025
Michael, I sent you a short message (:
I have missed the past two days due to local breaking news yesterday and the national breaking news today ): I am in withdrawal and need my Days fix! (; Wonder if they will air the episode in the middle of the night?
