The mechanism isn’t working. I have reported that it isn’t working but I never get any responses. Usually it’s on the Days thread but today (up above) we got one on the Y&R thread…. Anybody have any suggestions how to get rid of these spam posts?

Wow didn’t know he wrote the Deer Hunter
He co-wrote the original story the movie is based on but it was radically changed on its way to the big screen and hardly any of the original story was in the final movie.
I still remember him as villain Alex Marshall in the 1980’s – and of course as Kay’s husband Rex on Y&R. R.I.P. Mr. Redeker.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 10, 2023 at 5:21 pm #1205231745I loved him as Rex Sterling on Y&R! (That’s also one of my favorite soap names ever.) His chemistry with Jeanne Cooper and Jess Walton was perfect. And I always thought he was the love of Katherine’s life.
Looks like Jeanne Cooper agreed with me! This is a nice piece of an interview with her.
Rest in peace, Mr. Redeker.

So much talk about the set up- Fen having a boyfriend wanting to know all the details of Lauren’s life. Really out of nowhere. It reminded me of the famous law and order moment “is this because I’m a lesbian” lol!!
At this point it wouldn’t be surprising if next time Fen was seen he arrived with wife and kids

What do you make of this news?

I found this news kind of shocking, and I’ve heard nothing but negative feedback online. Just mathematically, this seems very bizarre. Josh Griffith is already headwriter and executive producer, two jobs that often are done separately full-time by two or more different people, and he’s adding the work of five other people to that? It doesn’t seem possible to do them even remotely well.
But I wonder what kind of financial situation the show is in if this was done as a measure to save costs. I already see tweets on a regular basis about how few sets the show is using, clearly also a means of cutting costs. If the show is dealing with a leaner budget than that to which they’ve been accustomed, maybe they need to consult with a higher level producer who’s been at DAYS or GH about ways to produce the show economically without doing things like firing a bunch of your writing staff. It’s my understanding that Y&R has not yet subscribed to the type of production scheduling that DAYS and GH use, filming bunches of episodes at once and then going dark for weeks at a time.

I truly didn’t know what to think of this. I just hope JG know what he’s doing!
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 24, 2023 at 1:55 pm #1205316844I wonder if this move in any way stems from last year’s WGA debacle where Josh Griffith’s name (among a few other breakdown writers) was curiously omitted from the list of nominees for the Y&R writing team. Not to mention this year’s rather unresolved WGA mystery as to whether or not Y&R even submitted for consideration. Do we know if Amanda L. Beall is staying on, or has she also been let go?
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 27, 2023 at 10:00 am #1205322479I saw a few of the names of the fired writers, including Sara Bibel and Susan Banks, but I’m not sure if Amanda L. Beall was among them. It’s also been mentioned that this move could be partially in reaction to the potential WGA strike.
