So Graham is back and what is he up to? I am really curious… Christian is missing… where was Dina going when she tapped her driver and said we are stopping somewhere first?
Sharon Case delivered a great performance – learning about Scott’s deception, cheating with Abby, and then the catfight – all sorts of emotions and she played them all brilliantly! (:
a generally very good episode! (:January 3, 2018 at 6:28 pm #1202454978
Today’s episode was good. First one I’ve seen in awhile. Excited for tomorrow’s. Sharon Case was amazing today. She played so many different emotions and was stellar in each scene.
Glad Graham is back. Curious to see what he’s up to. I’m wondering where Dina stopped. At first, I thought maybe she stopped at the GCAC and took Christian during one of her Alzheimer moments. Mrs. Martinez told Jack she heard Dina come in, but didn’t see her. It doesn’t make sense, because the driver would notice the baby and hopefully he wouldn’t drive away with a baby (especially with no car seat). I don’t know where else Christian would go or who would take him?.January 4, 2018 at 12:49 pm #1202455810
Today’s episode was my very episode in a very long time, truly wonderful! (: I was crying my eyes out with the double whammy of Dina’s dementia and Chelsea’s pent-up tears over Christian’s disappearance and the tenderness between her and Nick was really touching too. Everybody delivered and every scene was compelling to watch.
IDK why the driver wouldn’t notice a little kid. Maybe she was dropped off there and took a cab home? gatorman is right that it doesn’t make sense but that is often the case with soaps… (btw, the little kid who plays Christian was adorable while playing hide and seek!) Today’s episode was very well paced and all the stories seemed to gel really well. The writing and performances were phenomenal. I enjoyed the Abbott’s with their lawyers (nice to see Michael); Dina playing hide and seek with Christian ; and everyone looking for Christian at the GCAC. Hopefully we’ll get more of these episodes.
I know it’s a soap…but I still find it odd that Dina took Christian and no one noticed. How did the cameras not pick it up?! How did she get him to the Abbott mansion without anyone noticing?January 5, 2018 at 12:32 pm #1202457105
The scenes between Dina and Tracey were heartbreaking. I started crying when Colleen was brought up.
That was pretty cold of Graham to lock Tracey outside. Glad she had her phone to call Jack. I’m glad they showed the flashback of Graham/Dina/Christian. It makes sense that Graham would take them out the back and drove them to the Abbott mansion.January 5, 2018 at 1:12 pm #1202457131
Another great Y&R episode today, and I am esp. glad they explained that Graham helped Dina to take Christian out the back way. I still don’t get how the driver was dismissed, but at least we got an explanation that is semi-plausible and it moves story along well too – Graham is beyond despicable!
The scene between Dina and Traci was moving beyond words. My late mother had dementia (we never called it alzheimer’s) and the symptoms were exactly the same ones Dina is experiencing – I know that is why I am so moved by the accurate and brilliant portrayal that Marla Adams is delivering as Dina (:
Sharon Case is delivering big time too. The show has been really great this week!January 5, 2018 at 2:31 pm #1202457203
I’m assuming Dina told the driver she was meeting someone for lunch and that she would get a ride home. Although this was never explained, it’s all I could come up with. I’m still shocked Graham could take Christian without anyone noticing him and without any of the cameras picking that up. I’m also confused about Dina’s power of attorney. I thought the whole point of Jack and Ashley going to Florida to bring Dina back, was to meet with Michael and change the power of attorney. At the end of today’s episode, Graham was outside shouting he’s still Dina’s power of attorney. How long would that take to change? Did they forget to get it changed?
Overall, Y&R has been great this year. Hopefully it’ll keep it up.January 18, 2018 at 5:08 pm #1202470424
I am really shocked that it looks like they are killing off Graham! I assumed there would be more story, more machinations. I loved loved loved Marla Adams’s Dina today! I cited her for it but her scenes with Paul and the scene at the end, just wow!
I loved the contrast with the more tender scenes with Cane and Lily. And then there was Hillary’s deciding she wants a baby. This was a very strong episode, very enjoyable!January 23, 2018 at 4:15 pm #1202476775
I am worried that Marla Adams is leaving the show ): has anyone heard anything?January 23, 2018 at 4:45 pm #1202476790
I find it so odd that they killed Graham. I thought that story had more potential. I also find it odd that Dina is going to Paris. How long will she be there? Will she only be there as long as Abby’s there? I haven’t heard anything about Marla Adams leaving or staying.January 23, 2018 at 4:50 pm #1202476793
I am guessing: Mal Young didn’t like the story so he killed it. Who knows for sure? Often when a new headwriter or producer comes aboard they get rid of stories from the previous writers and/or producers. It is really strange because there was definitely more story to tell!January 25, 2018 at 8:43 am #1202478334
I read an absolutely wonderful interview with Marla Adams on soapcentral where she talks about her role, her co-stars, her storyline, and that she submitted for Emmy consideration – she didn’t say which category. I hope she is nominated! She has been phenomenal! A really great interview!January 25, 2018 at 12:19 pm #1202478582
Marla Adams got a pre-noms for Supporting Actress. The real nominations come out in March. Crossing fingers.January 26, 2018 at 3:16 pm #1202479791
John Conboy has passed away; he was the executive producer of The Young and the Restless from 1974-82, then Capitol from 1982-87, and had stints on Santa Barbara and Guiding Light (and I think one other show?).
