LOL – Did anyone else see Victoria Rowell (Ex-Dru, Y&R) recent tweet…bitching at Steve Kent who overseas Sony’s two daytime properties (DAYS and Y&R) for preventing her from auditioning for a new role on DAYS.
She was PISSED!!March 2, 2013 at 7:58 am #423847
maybe i’ve missed something, but what’s the big deal? Why can’t she audition for a role on DAYS? I would think she’d be a good addition. Someone from Kristen’s past within the 10 years that she’s gone, who could destroy her before she can destroy anyone ese, could be interesting, but what do i know? ha haMarch 2, 2013 at 4:31 pm #423848
Rowell did not leave Y&R on a happy note and has been cited as “difficult” and has pretty much bad mouthed Y&R/CBS non-stop since she left which is probably Kent’s reasoning behind denying her an audition. She would of made a great addition to DAYS though so that is too bad.March 2, 2013 at 8:25 pm #423849
I think she’d be perfect at DOOL as well, but I’d really like to see her try her hat at “General Hospital”. I think she’d be PERFECT on GH. I could see her as a lawyer with her sights set on ruining both Alexis and Diane’s life. She would have FANTASTIC chemistry with Maurice Bernard and I think would if given the chance be a great start at adding a new black family to the cast. She could either play a new character or she could be a recast of the long missing character Simone Hardy. This could be a great choice. I think ABC would be very wise to pick her up. They could really take away some great ratings from this.March 3, 2013 at 12:39 pm #423851
I think it is unfortunate that she basically blacklisted herself from having work in daytime. It’s sad to see her begging for a job on Twitter and having her followers make fools out of themselves by supporting her. It is time for her to move on and focus her energy elsewhere, b/c what she is doing is not healthy.March 3, 2013 at 11:40 pm #423852
I’m rather surprised she hasn’t persued primetime work much in the years since leaving Y&R. I’d think she’d have shown up as a guest star on Criminal Minds or some show similar to that.
There was talk some years ago about her joining the Real Housewives of Atlanta but that never happened, I just want to see her on-screen again.
If it were still on, I’d have loved to see her at AMC working with Debbie Morgan.March 4, 2013 at 12:02 pm #423853
I forget but didn’t in the middle of an intense scene michelle stafford spit on her? I don’t think that was scripted and she just gets a lot of coworkers so angry and mad at her that even well liked people like Peter Bergman launch wars against her in public and daytime sides with his war and not Rowell. She was great on Y&R and I liked her there. She was even on Diagnosis Murder so primetime was possible in the past but working with her is apparently very difficult.March 4, 2013 at 12:07 pm #423854

There was never any proof that Michelle Stafford spit on her, but Rowell has made claims that during a scene Stafford decided to do a spit-take without telling her. she also claims that the set of Y&R was abusive and racist.March 4, 2013 at 4:17 pm #423855
There are very lengthy threads on the old boards about Victoria Rowell, and the accusations that were made back and forth between her and the Y&R folks. At this point, I guess it doesn’t matter anymore, but it always seemed to me that much of what Rowell was saying was true and many of her claims were valid. Sometimes racism isn’t done with the intention of being malicious, so much as a matter of convenience, and I could see that possibly being the case for most of what she said. The disdain between her and Michelle Stafford is I think actually on record with the show and there was some sort of decision in Rowell’s favor as a result of the spittake. But her media outbursts the last few years has unfortunately, but understandably, made executives reluctant to work with her.
I would have loved to see her on DAYS.March 5, 2013 at 5:21 pm #423856
Rowell strikes me as somebody that takes herself a bit too seriously and has little to no sense of humor about things and possibly took a lot of things out of context and far too personally.
But I also think there was probably some truth to much of what she said, except instead of moving on from it she continues to harp on it.May 26, 2014 at 7:55 pm #423857
She definitely steals her scenes, it’s a shame really. But, if you cause drama on set and badmouth your costars your gonna get a reputation in the industry. She no has that. Interesting she is good friends with Samuel L Jackson, a move star and that can’t even help her. Even today by her tweets it’s sour grapes, maybe if she changed her attitude they would give her a chance. In the end you reap what you sow.
