^good question – there are obvious actors/actresses who clearly are guests or limited in their appearances on each show, such as from Days: Eileen Davidson, Nicki Ambrosini, Michael Cardelle, Alison Sweeney; from GH: Constance Towers, Robin Mattson, Donna Mills, Dee Wallace Stone, Joey Luthman, Chloe Lanier, Ilene Kristen, Jon Lindstrom, Lynn Herring; from Y&R: Jensen Buchanan, Ray Wise – I’m sure I have forgotten some.

But on the other hand, I’m very uncertain about Obba Babatunde and Anna Maria Horsford – they are semi-regulars on their show (B&B). I think when it comes to borderline candidates voters should use their own judgment on category placement. Obviously, if someone is definitely a regular on their show, without any question about it, they belong in Lead or Supporting.

What do others think? And are there other candidates who I have forgotten about? It helps if we jog each other’s memory over who showed up in 2015!

Luckily, we do not have to conform to the rules of the Daytime Emmy Awards.

To me, a limited run would be one that has a clear beginning and end, lasting for no more than three months.

For that reason, I placed Obba Babatunde and Anna Maria Horsford in Supporting, because they are now recurring characters. But I am ok with placing them in the Guest Category if others feel strongly about it.

That all sounds fair to me in terms of placements.  I think some characters, and returns in particular, can be very tricky.  I remember a previous year when Daniel said that Kim McCullough got three total votes, one in lead actress, one in supporting actress, and one in limited/guest actress.  I’d have a hard time deciding whether to put Peter Reckell, for example, in a supporting category or the limited category.  I feel like we were watching him writhe around that prison cell for a year and a half, but I think the run was actually just around three months.  Or someone who starts toward the end of the year and is limited in the sense that they may have only appeared in a month’s worth of episodes in 2015 but will be on the show for a lot longer.

I guess if we feel strongly about someone who is maybe borderline it’s good to post an FYC to kind of let people know where you’re considering them.

a few more guest performers I thought of:

B&B: i have a vague memory of Fred Willard returning for an episode or two?

Days: Paul’s grandfather, Susan Seaforth Hayes and Bill Hayes, Jason Cook, Peter Reckell (but he’s borderline, could be considered in 3 different categories, I suppose)

GH: Britt (blanking out on her name?), Spencer’s mother, “Magic Milo”, Epiphany and Rosalie are “regulars” but on so infrequently I consider them guests!, Leslie Charleson, Sebastian Roche,

Y&R: Beth Maitland as Traci Abbott, Elizabeth Hendrickson as Chloe, Kate Linder as Esther – was Judith Chapman on the show for a short while?, the actress who played the prostitute who got together with Michael

I am working on my ballot and would like to discuss placement for a few B&B actors.

Even though Jacob Young submitted himself as Supporting for the Daytime Emmy Awards, I see him as Lead. Ditto for Karla Mosely (although I think she did submit in Lead). I would also consider Jacquelines MacInnes Wood a Lead.

The problem is that almost every potential nominee on B&B seems like a Lead. In order to compromise, I suggest Darin Brooks and Linsey Godfrey for Supporting.

I guess that would bump Obba Babatunde and Anna Maria Horsford to Guest/Limited Performance.

Do these placements make sense to others? Are there other placements that need to be discussed?

I am definitely thinking of Jacob Young and Karla Mosley as leads, and it makes sense to place JMW there as well.  I also feel good about Darin Brooks and Linsey Godfrey being supporitng, though it’s definitely my inclination the Obba Babatunde and Anna Maria Horsford are supporting, especially OB.

FYC for the Legacy Award! Charita BauerMary Stuart, and Michael Zaslow.

Bauer played beloved matriach Bert Bauer on Guiding Light for more than three decades before passing away in 1985. Stuart played the lead role of Jo on Search for Tomorrow for its entire run, 1951-1986; she remained the core heroine for the entire duration of the series. In 1996, she began a recurring role as Meta Bauer on Guiding Light, and appeared until her death in 2002. Zaslow is famous for his role as Roger Thorpe on Guiding Light, which he played 1971-1980 and again 1989-1997. He won a Daytime Emmy for Lead Actor in 1994. He also appeared on Search for Tomorrow, One Life to Live, and Love is a Many Splendored Thing. He returned briefly to OLTL before passing away in 1998.

Almost there with my ballot!  The hardest categories are lifetime achievement award and legacy award.  I looked back at my past ballots, and it’s funny to see that they’re pretty much totally different every year, even if the people I voted for didn’t win or won’t even nominated!

For those who haven’t voted yet just a reminder that voting ends on Sunday at 9 p.m. EST.

FYI: in one of the categories there is an unusual SEVEN person tie (for 3rd/4th place) that needs to be broken! Hoping some more votes will resolve the problem.

Also: in the Limited/Guest Performer, try to only choose true limited/guest performers – some ballots have included series regulars who def. are not limited or guest performers but were on all the time…

It’s been fascinating watching the twists and turns – the last ballot I received changed who the nominees would be in one fo the categories! (:

Be sure to check in on Monday, February 15 beginning at 7 p.m. EST for the announcement of the nominees!

O.K., i need some help: how does one add pictures to a post on here? I have saved images of the various potential nominees that I wish to put up on here on Monday but I have no clue how to go about putting them up on here?

A SEVEN-PERSON TIE!  Wow, I’m so excited to find out what that’s all about!

I think that when I’ve posted photos in the past, I’ve just copied and pasted them.  I’m not sure that procedure will work now, as it was a while ago and there have been several updates since then, but it might.
