    Thanks for the info, Freeman! I’m actually surprised how many of the lead candidates did get votes, but I guess that goes to show what strong performances we were working with. I’m pretty surprised, though, that Eric Braeden got no votes. He almost made my ballot, ahead of one of the eventual nominees.

    Also, were there any people who had votes in more than one category (i.e., guest and supporting)?

    ^Beth Maitland was the only one who got votes in both Supporting Actress and Guest/Limited Performer.

    I was most surprised there were no votes for Laura Wright.

    Well, Eric Braeden did land one of my coveted Lifetime Achievement nominee spots, so technically he doesn’t count! 😉

    That Beth Maitland (whose supporting/guest placement I was internally debating and ultimately voted for as limited-run performer) was the only actor to have gotten votes in both categories is most surprising, especially when it could’ve easily gone either way for some others, most notably Judi Evans (who I was shocked didn’t receive a nom considering she had a lot of support from Goldies voters in years past) and Max Gail (who I was equally shocked didn’t get some form of recognition).

    And poor Laura Wright. Let’s hope the wrath of the gods of gdfl doesn’t unleash itself upon us!

    Only two of last year’s winners got nominations this year – Casey Moss and Alison Sweeney. Billy Flynn (the only one who came close), Freddie Smith, Deidre Hall, James Reynolds, Judi Evans, and Reign Edwards (who I think was gone from B&B in 2018?) all did not make it, with only a vote or two each for the last 4 eligible performers.

    Bumping this up so I can find it more easily in the future (as it has the rules for voting in the first post!)

    I am still so surprised that the eventual Emmy winner, Maurice Benard, did not receive one single vote from us Goldies voters! We are much smarter than the blue ribbon panelists! (;

    Should we revisit the performer of the year selection? We have plenty of time between now and January!

    What changes are you thinking to Performer of the Year? I thought it worked pretty decently last time.

    I actually agree with you, I thought it worked out perfectly. But if you read through the comments there were some ideas for doing it differently? It’s not for another 5 months of course! I just decided to find a few of these threads and bump them up so it would be easier to find them then!

    I had a few different ideas before, but I also think the way it went last year was perfect. I’d be happy to stick with that system going forward.

    I am in favor of keeping the new Performer of the Year balloting the same as last year. Just wanted to make sure a majority of voters wanted it that way too! (:

    Ha yes, I believe it was me who had suggested at the time that for next year’s Goldies, we should move the Performer of the Year category to the start of the voting period (the Nominations round). This way, any name submitted for consideration that’s not already on the master Actors list would then automatically be added and eligible during the second (winners) voting phase. As you might recall, I had wanted to cast my vote for Susan Seaforth Hayes but was restricted from doing so because her name wasn’t included on that list.
