If you could only revive one soap opera and bring it back to network television which would you choose?

If your choice isn’t listed tell us in the comments!

^I bet I know who voted for Passions (someone who loved the work of the late James Reilly)… I cast my vote for ATWT but I love almost all of these choices equally. I would also love a re-boot of The Edge Of Night! (:

Tough choice! I (also) chose Passions, not because it was the greatest, by any stretch, but it had a ton of potential to be fun and spoofy and ridiculous, and I loved that. I don’t know that I’ll ever forget that prom on the boat that lasted two months, or how Whitney went from not showing to giving birth in the span of a single soap day (which was of course months in real life). Plus, going for something different with Passions was easier than deciding between Another World and One Life to Live.

I was the first vote for Passions just because it was so ridiculous that I could eat it up. I mean come on, they tried to get a monkey nominated for an Emmy!

Also can we throw Dark Shadows on this list? I watched the early 90s primetime reboot as a kid and caught a lot of episodes on as Sci Fi. The lousy Tim Burton movie aside, I’d love for a reboot.

I voted for OLTL mostly because it just means the most to me of all the cancelled soaps; with AMC being a very close second.

Port Charles had so much potential and it seems was just a few years too early to cash in on the vampire/Twilight craze. So ahead of it’s time.

I really liked Port Charles the first year or so (even though it was hard to find given my affiliate) but it got really bad when Debbi Morgan left and there was less focus on the med students. I also never really got what Kevin and Lucy were doing in that show.

ATWT by a nose over AMC and Guiding Light. If ATWT had continued, the world would have been saved from the disaster known as The Talk.

I would love for The Doctors and The Edge Of Night to be revived (: I have been watching The Doctors on a daily basis (we are up to April 1977 now, started at December 1967, so almost ten years of episodes have aired) – I am so glad that they saved the episodes and didn’t wipe them! (:

I voted for ATWT, but only on the condition that they go back in time and fix the horrible way they handled the Luke/Reid story. Reid dying was one of the truly unforgivable moves that show ever made.
