So I posted this thread yesterday, but it somehow got deleted when I tried to edit it!
1. Bryan Craig
2. Tequan Richmond
3. Pierson Fode
4. James Lastovic
5. Anthony TurpelFor me, Bryan Craig had by far the best reel. Tequan was really solid in his and I wouldn’t be upset if he won, but his end scenes at the park felt extraneous. Pierson was good also, but was overshadowed by Linsey. It felt more like a showcase for her. James had some good moments, but it felt disjointed and there was now WOW moment for me. Anthony’s did nothing for me. He’s a solid actor and held his own with the vets, but this wasn’t Emmy material.

Favorite Performance:
1. Anthony Turpel (BB) – I half agree with GHFan. I think Turpel held his own against the older actors.
2. Pierson Fode (BB)
3. Bryan Craig (GH)
4. James Lastovic (Days)
5. Tequan Richmond (GH)Favorite Reel: Pierson Fode – His just told a full, compelling story.
Who Will Win: Bryan Craig – yeah, probably. His second one should have been the one for last year. He should have won his first year. But, this year, his tape is just kinda “been there, done that.” But he’ll win because it might be his last year, and his tape is explosive nonetheless.
ReplyCopy URLApril 14, 2017 at 11:33 am #1202066557Craig blew me away and the ending of Fode and the middle of Richmond’s were EMmy worthy, but for me, Craig clearly is my pick.

5. LastovicApril 14, 2017 at 2:17 pm #1202066691Tequan Richmond‘s reel was basically several minutes of whining, followed by a drowsy dialogue. His performance lacked vocal variety.
James Lastovic gave an emotional performance, but his reel is overshadowed by the fact that the writing for this story was unbelievably bad.
Newcomer Anthony Turpel had a surprisingly strong reel. Although the scenes were less dramatic than those of the other nominees, he delivered an authentic performance and was on equal footing with the vets.
Pierson Fode turned in a nice performance, but was overshadowed by the amazing Linsey Godfrey.
Bryan Craig had a dazzling reel. His performance was filled with a depth and emotional intensity that stands out from the rest. He didn’t just hold his own with the other actors; he was the undisputed star of his reel.

5. Lastovic (still can’t believe he was nominated, I would have taken Kyler Pettis before him in this category. Plus Stephen Nicholas was nicely propped in Lastovic scenes which shows he’s a good actor)April 17, 2017 at 8:46 am #12020687171. Bryan Craig

5. Anthony TurpelI’d be shocked if anyone other than Bryan Craig wins this category. His reel was a powerful punch that felt truly emotional in a way I haven’t found any of his past reels did. I was really surprised by how good I thought Lastovic was in his reel, but he usually doesn’t make much of an impression on me. It’s really choppy, but I still think he comes off stronger than the other three. Richmond is a good actor, and I liked the composition of his reel, with the confrontation with Jordan and then the scenes at the end of show they’d reconciled, but it felt kind of light. And not that this would necessarily factor, but every year his reel is just a question of “What is TJ upset that Jordan lied about now?” Fode is great in his reel but he spends so much time just reacting and thus doesn’t do enough. Still he does more than Anthony Turpel, who is a convincing brat but does nothing even remotely worthy of an Emmy. That’s not an insult to the actor, but the material is just not impressive at all.
ReplyCopy URLApril 17, 2017 at 8:49 am #1202068722I think Bryan Craig will win it, and that’s before I watch all of the other reels.
But dude definitely has the Heather Tom/Hunter King effect, where they are only truly “great” when they’re crying or yelling or both. He’s really not that great of an actor.
I will rank the others later.

2. Craig
3. Fode
4. Turpel
5. LastovicAnother really strong set of reels. Any of the top 4 could win.
Lastovic just isn’t a very good actor.
Turpel does a nice job and is perfectly effective.
Fode is good but is overshadowed by Godfrey.
Craig is great but is hurt by a short, choppy reel.
I don’t know how Richmond keeps finding these reels. I didn’t even know he had 11 minutes of screen time last year. But he pieced together a strong reel with a good arc and nice range. He’s effective throughout. Really strong work from a talented and underused young actor.
Sidenote: Vinessa Antoine is gorgeous and talented. Why isn’t she the star of GH? She needs to air 5 days a week!
ReplyCopy URLApril 19, 2017 at 1:51 am #12020705521. Bryan Craig. I will fall on the floor if he doesn’t win. EXTRAORDINARY! Truly one of the best reels ever!
2. Pierson Fode. Emotionally satisfying and exciting to watch. He really gives an emotional wollop.
3. Tequan Richmond. Yes, he keeps on coming in with strong reels despite having so very little to do each year!
4. James Lastovic. Blue Ribbon Panelists who don’t actually watch the show might be more impressed than I am. I guess it’s just that I hated Joey’s storylines so much I just didn’t care for reliving it through his reel!
5. Anthony Turpel. Is he even on B&B? He was fine but nothing special. Geesh…. not another Drew Tyler Bell win, please, just NO!
This is the only category in which Y&R is NOT nominated this year…

2. James Lastovic (Joey was phenomenal especially in the scene where he kills Ava)
3. Pierson Fode ( if he had chose the tape where he confronts Ridge for keeping Douglas from him then he could have been#2)
4. Anthony Turpel ( I loved it but he’s relatively new and his tape didn’t do anything for me)
