    I ranked all three Janet Gaynor’s Performances, the ones i didn’t wrote anything i agree with the win

     

    1- Bette Davis- Jezebel, 1939- Should have won: Katharine Hepburn (Not  Nominated)

    2- Norma Shearer- The Divorcee, 1931

    3- Claudette Colbert- It Happened One Night, 1935- Should have won: Bette Davis, Of Human Bondage

    4- Marie Dressler- Min and Bill, 1932- Should have won: Marlene Dietrich, Morroco

    5- Janet Gaynor- Sunrise, 1929- Should have won: Marie Falconetti, The Passion of Joan of Arc (Not Nominated)

    6- Katharine Hepburn- Morning Glory, 1934- Should have won: Greta Garbo, Queen Christina (Not Nominated)

    Haven’t seen all of these and will never see all of these because I simply do not care about most of the crud that the Oscars awarded in the 30s, but that being said…

    I’m a firm believer that, indeed, Dietrich should have taken that statue in a landslide. Second-best nominee ever in this category (here’s to you, Gena). Morocco is a goddamn masterpiece.

    I Watched those because I’m an enthusiast and because I had a lot of free time last year, totally agree with you about Morocco, love that movie!
