Greatest Living Male Actor Working Today according to you??

(Pay attention to “working today”, since Jack Nicholson and DDL are retired, and DeNiro, Pacino, and even Hopkins are legends who are having a great late career resurgence, but still they are over 75, thus way past their prime).

Vote in the poll and sound off in the comments.

Hopkins (…) way past their prime).

Hopkins got a lot more Oscar nominations last year than some of the people you have in the poll. Might get more this year too. Just saying. (I understand he’s a different generation than those up there, but he’s definitely not ‘out of the game’).

    Anyway, went with Phoenix.

You know there are other great working black actors besides Denzel Washington, right? I was just wondering why he is the only one.

That being said Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks are the two best, followed by Gary Oldman

DiCaprio is getting weirdly underestimated here in this poll.

He’s considered by many the greatest actor of his generation and the biggest movie star of our time, he has a streak of memorable films and performances unlike anyone else in the list:

    What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?
    The Basketball Diaries
    Romeo + Juliet
    Titanic
    The Beach
    Gangs of New York
    Catch Me If You Can
    The Aviator
    The Departed
    Blood Diamond
    Revolutionary Road
    Shutter Island
    Inception
    J. Edgar
    Django Unchained
    The Great Gatsby
    The Wolf of Wall Street
    The Revenant
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

He may very well be the greatest of them all.

All of them have given a couple of great performances over the year but they all have delivered some real turkeys. I’ll pass.

Driver, Fassbender and Hardy have no business being on this list!

    Out of those, Denzel.
Tom Hanks was very good in his prime and every now and again he still delivers some punches (A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood), but overall his current filmography is yikes. DiCaprio is the biggest of them all tho.
I like Phoenix and Bale, Oldman is good too, don’t care about the others.

Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!

    Denzel Washington.

Among the ones junior to him, I’d say Michael Fassbender and Joaquin Phoenix

Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Tony Leung, Anthony Hopkins, Samuel L. Jackson, etc. could have and should have replaced Adam Driver here IMO. But of these, I agree it’s probably Denzel Washington.

Adam Driver is talented enough to have 3 career worst performances in two years from Annette, House of Gucci, and now White Noise
