Really interesting year for the category; I know many really love it, and laud it as one of the best lineups Comedy Series has seen. I don’t necessarily see the quality everyone else does, but it was certainly a flashpoint, capturing some of the most beloved and popular cool shows of the year. Dig the Fleabag win, if only because the season was deeply personal for me. Otherwise, I’m not sure how anything after Barry really should be here; Russian Doll was a weird little experiment whose spectacle and acting sort of outshone any of its ideas. Barry itself saw a decent first season improve into a special second, while Veep fumbled its final bow, which means it still landed among the great TV of the season haha. The rest are just bad.

As much as I love Veep with all my heart, the final season didn’t quite live up to my expectation (with the exception of the final episode).
