Are you not counting his entire ballot because of the one mishap? I mean I would imagine, most people don’t notice replies on these threads too easily, especially if there is a time restriction like this game. A shame to discount the entire thing.

Yes, I do discount the entire thing in such situations, and here’s why:

If that rule wasn’t in place, there would be people coming onto this thread and voting only on certain categories, which is something I don’t want happening for both personal and practical reasons.

This rule, in my opinion, gives voters an incentive to make sure their ballots are complete and accurate. And this rule has been a part of every “game” thread I’ve created since I joined GoldDerby back in January of last year.

Copy that. I just thought since there are only a few people playing that the strictness on such easy little mistakes was working against the game. Not to mention they likely never see the posts about the mishaps before time frame restrictions take over unless they are also being sent PMs I guess.

I decided to postpone the next rounds (where the winners of each category face each other off) to “Part II” of this thread.

In other words, the eliminations are over and the highest vote getter automatically wins?

No. The game’s not over. I apologize if I gave you that impression.

Because both genders of the 1980s and 1990s categories have winners, I initially decided to start a SECOND elimination game on this thread where the winner for the entire decade is determined. The 1980s had Newman vs. Streep and the 1990s had Hopkins vs. Thompson. However, I decided to start THAT elimination game on a second thread, which will be created once THIS game is over.

    Keep voting! 🙂
