4.) Natalie Portman (Black Swan)

8.) Julianne Moore (Still Alice)
9.) Hilary Swank (Boys Don’t Cry)

11.) Katharine Hepburn (The Lion In Winter)Honorable Mentions: Louise Fletcher (One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest), Helen Mirren (The Queen), Frances McDormand (Fargo), Marion Cotillard(La Vie En Rose) , Charlize Theron (Monster).
I deliberately left out Vivien Leigh (Gone With The Wind) as I’ve already picked her once as no.1. else this performance of hers would be no.4

picking my personal top 10 best actress winner feels weird, because everytime i made a list like this, i remember some of the ‘loser’s performances were far more better than the actual winning performances.

Although she’s my pick in 1938, she still had far superior work than either of her two wins. Also I worship Meryl Streep, but “Sophie’s Choice” barely makes her top ten nominated list for me. I know I’m super minority there.
1. Anne Bancroft – The Miracle Worker
2. Ellen Burstyn – Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore
3. Frances McDormand – Fargo
4. Jane Fonda – Klute
5. Vivien Leigh – A Streetcar Named Desire
6. Diane Keaton – Annie Hall
7. Holly Hunter – The Piano
8. Olivia Colman – The Favorite
9. Cate Blanchett – Blue Jasmine
10. Geraldine Page – The Trip To BountifulHonorable mentions in ABC order:
