While the 2010’s was almost filled with some truly horrible winners, I would like to see what’s your ranking of best actress winner of 2010’s. Heres mine

    10. Jennifer Lawrence, Silver Linings Playbook

^ Will always be one of the worst.

    9. Emma Stone, La La Land

    8. Brie Larson, Room

    7. Renee Zellweger, Judy

    6. Meryl Streep, The Iron Lady

    5. Julianne Moore, Still Alice

    4. Frances McDormand, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri

    3. Olivia Colman, The Favourite

    2. Natalie Portman, Black Swan

    1. Cate Blanchett, Blue Jasmine

pretty terrible set of winners, and also very white too. Almost no one I wanted to win actually won (or even nominated). My ranking based who i think should have won each year.

    1. Charlotte Rampling, 45 Years / 2. Leila Hatami, A Separation / 3. Emmanuelle Riva, Amour / 4. Michelle Williams, Blue Valentine / 5. Isabelle Huppert, Elle / 6. Marion Cotillard, Two Days One Night / 7. Taylor Russell, Waves/ 8. Sally Hawkins, The Shape of Water / 9. Cate Blanchett , Blue Jasmine / 10. Cho Yeo Jeong, Parasite

    1. Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine) — alt. winner: none
    2. Natalie Portman (Black Swan) — alt. winner: none
    3. Olivia Colman (The Favourite) — alt. winner: none

    ——————————————————————————————–
    4. Frances McDormand (Three Billboards) — alt. winner: Hawkins
    5. Brie Larson (Room) — alt. winner: Ronan or Rampling or Blanchett
    6. Julianne Moore (Still Alice) — alt. winner: Pike or Cotillard
    7. Renee Zellweger (Judy) — alt. winner: none; this is a rather bleak year for Lead Actress imo
    8. Emma Stone (La La Land) — alt. winner: Huppert
    9. Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook) — alt. winner: Riva
    10. Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) — alt. winner: Davis or Mara

IMO, only the top 3 deserve to be called a masterful performance, and each is the rightful winner of the respective year (at least among those nominated). Also, 2015 (Larson) lineup is particularly strong, in that, 4 out of 5 will be a deserving winner nonetheless who wins at the end (excluding J-Law).

    EDIT:
The top 3 are also the cases where I feel like the roles were tailor-made for the actresses. Those roles require elements of the respective actress’ craft for which they are best-known for. The same can be said for McDormand as well.
