Viola Davis yelling at Denzel about standing in his Shadow
Julia Roberts going on her rant to the lawyers and then telling them the water came from the town.
Monique – her scene in precious with Mariah Carey
just some on the top of my head

For the actors (btw they don’t actually have to be Oscar clips, they can just be scenes of terrific acting, plus these guys are all nominated actors):
Gary Oldman’s “Karla” musing in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.
Daniel Day-Lewis reveals his feelings to Dr. Eileen at the dinner in My Left Foot.
Tom Hardy’s “God is a squirrel” in The Revenant.
Joaquin Phoenix’s “processing” in The Master.
The taxicab scene with in On the Waterfront.
The police station scene in Manchester by the Sea.
Al Pacino learns of “the abortion” in The Godfather Part II.
Robert Duvall sees his daughter after so long in Tender Mercies.
Bradley Cooper’s wedding video breakdown in Silver Linings Playbook.
Robert De Niro was a man that could not take it anymore in Taxi Driver.
And many more…
I can’t pin down a scene in La Vie en Rose with Marion Cotillard, but they’re all excellent lmao.
Many of Naomi Watts’ scenes in The Impossible tbh.
Meryl Streep talks gives her son back in Kramer vs Kramer.
Felicity Huffman’s performance in Transamerica lol.
Rosamund Pike muses about her husband’s failings in a lengthy monologue in Gone Girl.
Emmanuelle Riva’s scenes with Jean-Louis Trintignant in particular in Amour.
Michelle WIlliams starts to give up on her relationship with Ryan Gosling in Blue Valentine.
Saoirse Ronan promises to say “I love you” back to Emory Cohen in Brooklyn.
Vivien Leigh’s literal embodiment of Scarlett O’Hara in Gone With The Wind. That would be a damn good Oscar clip in and of itself.
And of course, many more.

I still live where I grew up but I’ll be moving sometime soon, I’m going to miss how safe and quiet the area was but I won’t miss how boring and lackluster it always was, never anything to do but walk around, full of white trash and close to a massively inconvenient train track intersection where there’s a 50/50 chance you’ll be stuck by a slow-moving train unless you go miles out of your way to try to get around it.

Like LaChienne, I still live where I grew up. Hopefully that will change in a near future, there won’t be a thing I’ll really miss. And I’ll definitely not miss the lack of interesting cultural events in my town.

I grew up in a planned community so I loved how easy it was to hop on a bike or go for a run on a trail without feeling unsafe. You could go out at any time without it feeling sketchy. Plus everything was really close to my house so I could walk to shopping centers, restaurants, etc. On the other hand, I definitely don’t miss the people. Nice place to live, but the people there were/are just awful. Very materialistic, self-absorbed and catty.
