I don’t really follow the Grammys but funnily enough the best score I’ve ever got on a Gold Derby contest was last year’s Grammys when I got lucky and guessed some upsets. Anyway, some Kesha upsets would be welcome.
Which actor working today is the most likely to surpass Meryl Streep’s nomination record or will it never be broken?January 26, 2018 at 8:09 pm #1202479993

Need to see what the final record is first. Judging by how the Oscars are evolving in both its membership and tastes, I’m gonna go with Meryl’s tally standing for a long while.
Briana, to speak to your great question, I think the General Field is ripe for upsets based on how the BRP went about selecting nominees this cycle. I’m still considering my final ballot, so it’s hard to say. Expect some history made Sunday night regardless.

1. Portugal. The Man winning Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Feel It Still” over the Despacito remix. I am a proud Black and Puerto Rican woman, however, I did not like the remix at all and glad other songs won instead.
2. Lin-Manuel Miranda for Best Song Written for Visual Media for “How Far I’ll Go” (Moana)
3. Carrie Fisher for Best Spoken Word Album (The Princess Diarist)
There are a few other wins from the pre show that I liked and I am also glad that Kendrick and Bruno won big. I will stick with these three however.
