Favorite: Minding the Gap in Best Documentary. One of my favorite films all year and a sorely-needed young, fresh, honest voice.

Least Favorite: Green Book in Best Picture. The worst of the nominees by far, one of the worst of the 2010s nominees and not a single redeeming or “best” feature about this mess.

Most Favorite: Yorgos Lanthimos in Best Director

Least Favorite: “Bohemian Rhapsody” in Best Picture

Five most glaring snubs in this year’s Oscar nominations?

    1. Won’t You Be My Neighbor for Best Documentary
    2. First Man for Film Editing, Score, Cinematography
    3. Bradley Cooper for Best Director
    4. Burning for Foreign Language Film
    5. Lost and Found for Animated Short

They were all easily some of the best of their categories

And while I wasn’t a huge fan of the performance or the film, Timothée Chalamet probably deserved a spot in such a weak Best Supporting Actor category (over Sam Rockwell whom I LOVE but)

Also….they know what they did to Ethan Hawke….

    Timothee Chalamet in Supporting Actor
    First Man in Original Score
    Ethan Hawke in Actor
    Burning in Foreign Language Film
Won’t You Be My Neighbour in Documentary

Cold War and Favourite in director are some of my favourite surprises in the nominations so if that came at the expense of Bradley Cooper so be it

I think a border wall is a ridiculous reason to shut down the government and I feel really bad for the workers and their families who are having to go without paychecks because of it.

Do you watch your local newscasts?

Rarely, except for inclement weather reports. Cable news, all the time.

Predict THREE upsets at the upcoming SAG Awards (film and/or television).
