I dont think the other thread is working, so here’s a new one.
I’ll be at the Canadian Figure Skating National Championships all week. May go and check their practice sessions today.
Potential World Champions this year:
Weaver and Poje, Dance. With the withdrawal of that Italian team after a disastrous start on the Grand Prix circuit, I’d say their hopes of repeating and by the slimist of margins is in jeopardy.
Duhamel and Radford, Pairs. They’ve been winning all year. Hope they land that quad salchow throw at Worlds. The Russians covet this gold more than anything, so they’re a threat, even if they are repeating their program from last year.
Ladies: It’s a crap shoot, but a very young, talented, Russian phenom (pick one) will likely win. Kaetlyn Osmond is sitting Nationals out due to ongoing injuries.
Men: Yuzuru Honyu, provided he doesnt have a melt down. Even if he should, the judges will prop him up. He’s amazing. Patrick Chan is sitting this one out. Canadian quad boy Kevin Reynolds finally has his skates now. Looking forward to seeing him again.
Yup, I’m a figure-skating groupie and often travel for these events.

I hate when award show montages don’t end up on youtube. I want to see those again and again.January 23, 2015 at 8:35 pm #456091
People told me that this was a “Retirement” town, but you hear that all the time and it doesnt seem so apparent. But tonight, I saw more jowls and jewels than in an actual retirement home. Dont get me wrong; I love and honour seniors. The place was 80% over 70; not a smart phone anywhere. I felt like I was being prepped for the crematorium. Still, they were a hoot to speak with.
Great Nationals overall; although Reynolds is in 12th place. Guess he hasnt found the right skates yet. Poor guy.
Had a chance to speak with Duhamel and Radford’s coach; said hi to Veronik Mallet. She had a great skate.
The long programs/freeskates are tomorrow. A slug can see who will win pairs and dance but ladies and mens is up in the air.February 24, 2015 at 9:33 am #456092
I dont feel like doing anything today, except watch the wildlife outside my windows. All kinds of magnificent birds: junkos, cardinals!, finches, sparrows, chickadees, mourning doves, nuthatchers, woodpeckers, jays, wax wings; deer, rabbits, squirrels (black, grey, and red!), weasels, other small mammals….many of them know I’m not going to hurt them and hang out close by why I replenish their yummies.
They’re coming for the food I put out for them; coconut, peanuts crushed and whole and raw and organic, oats, suet balls, finch seeds, sunflowers, pumpkin seeds, raisins, fruits like blueberries and grapes, and anything else around here healthy they can eat, and fatten up during these cold months. Some of them raise a family every year in my trees and structures, and come back time and again (swallows, wrens).
Time to chill. They’re so beautiful.March 12, 2015 at 5:49 am #456093
This tiny town is so interesting. It has one restaurant, which is almost always closed, and one bar, which closes at 5:00 on Fridays and doesnt open again until Monday; unless it’s a long weekend. Then they stay closed. Lol. The bar has been here since forever, so I guess it must be working for them.March 17, 2015 at 9:28 am #456094
O man am I ever sick. I feel as if I’ve been hit with a Mac truck.
This isn’t suppose to happen to me, since I am an all-natural kind of gal.Lol!
My kidneys and adrenals feel like they’ve been hammered and my lungs. Gach.
Just before an extended business trip too.
O well. At least I know what to do and how to treat myself.March 21, 2015 at 1:15 pm #456095
Today’s work day is going by soooooooo sloooooooooowly. It’s torture. I’ve been watching ‘Whiplash’ in between data processing and rate management, lol.March 25, 2015 at 9:51 am #456096
I’m up so high the clouds are snagging the rolling hills; there are pigeons and nests, and hawks hunting them; pairs of geese are using the balcony as rest stops. So beautiful, it’s as if the city exists only far below.March 30, 2015 at 7:09 pm #456097
What can you say about Kristen Stewart and rumored GF Alicia Cargile? Well, all I can say is Kristen Stewart’s hairstyle is cute. LOL!

Thought I’d put this here. Hilarious.
After failing multiple times to jumpstart Rampage 3: No Mercy, writer/director Uwe Boll hits YouTube to rant about crowdfunding to Hollywood life in cuss-filled, highly entertaining fashion.

I am still in awe of the majesty and beauty I am surrounded by. Deep walls of green and more green, up and down these ancient mountains. Down the road, we saw a lumbering creature right in the line of potential traffic. I’ve got to save it! It’s a huge turtle! Everyone in the car (guys) were afraid to touch her, so I jumped out and picked her up. She didnt weight nearly as much as she looked. I took her as far from the road and nearer a water source as I could, but it was on a steep embankment. As I put her down, I saw a black spot on her shell. I touched it and it ‘squished’.
I grabbed some grass and with great difficulty, pulled it off her back. Of course, my stance defied physics, and down I went. Apparently I somersaulted. My only thought was, “dont land on the turtle”. Missed her! Judging from her size, she had to be at least ten or more years old.
Bye baby. Live your life in freedom.
I’m feeding a family of raccoons as well; such a persecuted animal. But the female’s teats are swollen. Babies! As far as I’m concerned, she can eat all the grapes, peanut butter sandwiches (from organic unbleached bread and organic peanut butter.lol), cherries, cat food (again, organic) etc she wants.
I absolutely love my surroundings.June 18, 2015 at 1:18 pm #456102
