Started “The Shunning” by Beverley Lewis yesterday. So far it’s not as good as the movie (it was made into a movie on Hallmark…actually all three were).

I’m almost halfway through it and to be honest I kinda feel like this is going to be the next movie adaption. Should be “the lost symbol” but thats another issue I have (they can improve on that book so much!).

    I’m almost halfway through

i switched last night and started it … they said they were skipping the lost symbol because it was too similar to National treasure ( which i agree with )

I would love to see more robert Langdon movies i always enjoy them

From this set of nominees, the fiction award is an easy call to Sing, Unburied, Sing.

I wonder since Ward’s won recently for “Salvage the Bones.” Jennifer Egan made the longlist and was shockingly snubbed here, so that’s significant. I think the award will go to someone “new” and under-the-radar this year.

    Ward won today.

Slogging through “Salinger” by David Shields and Shane Salerno. This is like torture but I never stop a book mid-way through.

Just finished Michael Connelly’s new Bosch novel Two Kinds of Truth. Really outstanding, with two plotlines that he juggles like the master he is. Between this and his introduction of the new Renee Ballard series with The Late Show, Connelly has produced two great books this year.

Starting on the new Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich, Hardcore Twenty-Four. She pretty much writes the same book over and over with little or no character movement, but they still make for fun, comfort-food holiday reading.
