I’ve been posting more often this year, so I’ll give this a go.

Name: Colin Gibbings (Wesley is my middle name)
    Age: 28
Country: Canada. Eh, aboot, sorry. All that good stuff.
Education: MA in English, currently working on utilizing performance to both present and interpret Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales. But I’m going to stop there because I’m sure I just put half of you to sleep.
Relationship status: Newly, Happily Married 🙂
    Favourite food: Eggs, any way.
    Favourite Drink: Ginger Ale
Favourite TV Show: The Wire for drama, The Simpsons for Comedy

Favourite Authors: Anything by Richard Preston, Margaret Atwood, George RR Martin (his 1000 worlds series is great, check it out since I don’t need to tell you to check out ASOIAF) and most classic authors: Shakespeare, Milton, Chaucer, Percy Shelley, Dante. Lately I’ve been looking into annonymous works from BC, attempting to understand the flood narrative as part of a larger oral culture…sorry, I’m doing it again.
Pets: 1 dog and two Flamepoint Siamese cats and boy are they chatty.
Guilty Pleasure: I have a growing board game collection (65 games as of this writing). No, not like monopoly.

Places you’ve travelled: All over USA, love you yanks. Italy and Great Britain. South Africa, Botswana and Zambia. Japan.
Places you’d love to travel: Need to hit South America and Australia, but mostly looking to the rest of western Europe, Nepal.
Favourite awards prediction moment: Last year I put my 500 point bet that How to Train your Dragon 2 would beat the (much better) Lego Movie at the Golden Globes. Sweet moment.
Biggest Prediction failure: Switching to David O. Russel for Silver Linings Playbook to win director in 2012 last minute. STILL have no idea what the hell I was thinking.

For the record, I kinda miss SF

This is really a nice place and I should have found it a long time ago. It’s nice to have a human contact, since after all Goldderby has a lot of meaning for a lot of us, even though at times we really disagree on something, don’t we?

I’ll keep it brief. I’m Marco, I’m Italian and I live near Milan. I’m 21 and I study History (Middle Age is my favourite period!).
I also have a deep passion for philosophy and, from very recent times, religion. I love art, and if I had to pick only one artist, I’d pick Egon Schiele. But I also adore Reinassance art and a lot of other stuff.

What else? My favourite tv show, not the best one, is Lost. I watched it from the very beginning, and I was very young at that time. Waiting for that day every week – a wednesday, maybe – when two new episodes were aired was really special. Other shows that truly affected me are Six Feet Under, Hannibal and Twin Peaks.
I am a film lover, and my favourite director is Werner Herzog. I watched more than 20 of his films, and he always destroys me – in a good way 😉 -. I also love Michael Haneke, which is probably the director I’d be if I were a genius. My favourite film, well, is Lost in translation. I think it has a special atmosphere which is impossible to describe by words, but that is very similar to one of my most recurrent moods.
Music is something very important in my life. Radiohead, not so many years ago, helped me shape my personality, in a positive way; they enriched me and keep doing it. I also love, as a genre, shoegaze, post rock, some prog-rock, indie rock when it’s well done and electronic music when it’s experimental and daring. I adore ambient stuff.
