    Hello,

I’m just curious how many of the current posters are transplants from the “old” forums at The Envelope, or perhaps, from even before then?

I am one of the “original” posters from the pre-envelope forums.   I still use the same screenname.    Just kind of interested in seeing who made the jump.

    thanks

I joined in 2004 during the heated battles of who would win Supporting Actress in a comedy with Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrell, Kristin Davis, Doris Roberts and Megan Mullally.

When Tom O’Neil launched this site, I was the No. 9 member to sign up.

This was in 2001. (I think it was May.)

I have kept my user name throughout my membership.

I know I joined before I got married, so maybe 2006 or 2007, maybe sooner. So many users had a broad knowledge of film history and the discussions were very exciting. Now you’re lucky if someone even mentions films from the 20th century. Can you imagine a thread including a discussion of the merits of Koyaanisquatsi? We used to have months-long threads about who merits an Honorary Oscar and you would see pitches for Jeanne Moreau and Max von Sydow. Now you’re lucky to find someone who has even heard of them. I miss those days, and yes, I do remember Sean Flynn/Scott Ferguson fondly.

I joined the site for the first time in either 2002 or 2003, when I was obsessed with daytime soaps. I was looking for a place to discuss the the Daytime Emmy Awards. At the time As The World Turns and One Life To Live were both going through periods of peak popularity. I found the site by accident. At the time I was using the screename ABCSOAPS55 but sometime thereafter I changed my screename to Boidiva02.

I was heavily active on the site from 2002-2011 and sometime around 2011 or 2012 my usage of the site began to peter downward as All My Children and One Life To Live went off the air. I was fresh out of high school when I found this site and it was huge for me; and I continued being a frequent presence on the forums all the way through college and several years afterwards.

I’m always going to be on the forums, but just not as frequently as in the past. I love this site and have seen it through all of its formats; its ups and its downs and I remember so many random things about its history.

I remember “pook” and Boidiva from long long time ago… i joined it cause the site has a great awards database, which it was lost when it changed to the envelope and we never get it back.
I ramdonly post now, from time to time… but when we have live chats with nominees, once Tom asked me to help with the transcription of “Adriana Barraza” interview.

Pook and i share birthday 🙂
